This post contains trailer level spoilers for Le Choix des Kwamis. I’ve been thinking a lot about Marinette’s character arc and what could change in Transmission.

Marinette does not want to be a hero. The stage is set in Origines, when she tries to give the Miraculous de la Coccinelle to Alya. She takes it up again when she sees Alya crushed and Chat Noir captured. Only Ladybug could save them. She frequently doubts and judges herself. Chat has many times talked her down from near panic attacks, because she can’t handle failure. After Miracle Queen, the only thing Marinette likes about being Ladybug or the Guardienne is the kwamis.

An under-discussed element to her conflict with Chat in season four is that she believes letting him go frees him, while he loves being Chat Noir and thinks she doesn’t want him anymore. She doesn’t realize he wants stay a hero because she can’t understand why anybody would want that. Marinette rages at Soqueline and M. Damocles, who have the freedom she wants and dare throw it away.

I am Marinette! I’m happy to be a girl like the others.

In Vérité, she says it’s too dangerous for her to love someone. Her sobs at the end of Exaltation mirror that pain. Every gain is simply further to fall.

She carries this hatred of heroism into Le Choix des Kwamis. What is she going to feel when she becomes just Marinette? Freedom comes with the overwhelming blow of losing Tikki and Chat. All those newly discovered feelings for her partner, and not only did their relationship fall apart, he doesn’t exist as Chat anymore. Ladybug is a huge piece of her life. I don’t know how the writers will play this. Either this is a tragic tale of a girl given a taste of normalcy before it’s snatched from her fingers, or it’s a complex character beat where Ladybug comes to appreciate her power. I’d love to see a Ladybug who wants to be Ladybug.

It's time to rant about ml fandom specifically the youtube side of it I can't stand these individuals

Let's start cryus the great the worst youtuber in the ml fandom and represents a problem in ml fandom basically hating on Adrien marinette and alya while stanning g chloe and lila not even joking dude called lila his waifu

That whole video of him hating on Marinette

while making exuses for chloe and that's in genral I've seen people downplay chloe and lila behavior genuinely I've seen people say that lila and chloe behavior is that of normal teenage girls and that lila lies are harmless

Marinette got expelled because of lila not only that but has committed attemped murder and worked with terrorist same for chloe who's bullies everbody including Marinette and also worked with a terrorist

How are you claiming that Marinette is worse than them things I've seen Marinette be called a physco a yandere and some other things

And here's thing that gets me hypocrisy one character can do something it's fine and when other character does it there awful

Now the Adrien and Marinette salters while aleats a part of them ship lukanette infact I've seen a entire salt post on why luka is better than Adrien that tried to make Adrien look bad his also been called a harraser and sexual assuter

I've seen adrigami shippers who do simular things when it's comes to Marinette and the salters of Marinette

Usually include chloe lila and Adrien stans and the vast majority of Adrien salters stan Marinette and ship lukanette

Hating characters over ships really how childish is this fandom

I need to remind this fandom that the characters are 14 stop expecting them to think and act likev adults stop holding them to the same standard you'd hold to a adult

Also my two cents about the people who criticize the writers saying things like "wow it really shows that most writers are men, Marinette totally acts like the average girl when it comes to Adrien, totally normal behaviour :/" while you literally have many couples that behaves realistically and the shows clearly says that the obsession Marinette has for Adrien it's ONLY HER character and flaw, as this was how S5 begun.

I haven't watched Miraculous Ladybug in a while but I'm enjoying the spoilers.

That said, what's interesting to me is that Adrien falls in love hard, and Marinette fantasizes love hard.

As Chat Noir and as Adrien, he doesn't hesitate to pursue Ladybug and Marinette, respectively. He's very direct, upfront, and forthcoming with his feelings. He eas even that way with Kagami. Adrien thinks and acts with his heart first and his mind second.

Marinette overthinks. She fantasizes, strategies, outlines, plans--and she TRIES to act but often gets to awkward or nervous and bails. She's more prone to think and act with her mind first and her heart second.

And I just think that dynamic is so interesting.

Maybe because Adrien's life has been so strict that he's passionate and years to express himself more freely. But Marinette has a lot of responsibilities and has to overthink things...though I like to think this was an innate trait of hers before she was chosen to be Ladybug...🤔

A mix of pride, frustration and ice-cream magic.

This dude was literally never wrong about heartstitching, then this 4 assholes pop up and he doesn't get why all of them are so good for each other. The poor man literally feels like all four couple are good and just doesn't understand why, he is so confused🤣

The real question should be how is Andre so insightful?!

I can't be the only one bothered by that
