me walking into the animal shelter: hi id like the stupidest cat you have
sometimes my cat won’t eat her dinner so i thought i was tricking her into eating by putting a few treats on it but she’s actually tricked me into feeding her treats and i want a stupider cat
Literally what I said to the woman at the shelter. I want the dumbest cat you have
Look at him, he’s got no brain cells. You can hear the elevator music playing in his empty skull. I love him
you look into this animals eyes and you can tell absolutely nothing is going on in there i am so happy for you
what was your almost name? mine was sofia
Screaming .. what
This person thinking a $200-300 bag means you’re the 1%
yeah
I'm sitting here boggling at the idea of spending more than $30 on a purse, when i could put that money towards so many other things.
$300 is pricey for a bag, but I’ve spent more than that on video games, so it’s hard for me to be judgey about it. They’re good sized bags, with a simple design that you could wear with a ton of stuff and won’t go out of style quickly. If they’re really good quality, they could outlast a number of my cheapo bags, since I go through a few of those a year (when I left the house). You would definitely have to have the money up front, though. (Hello, Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness.) The designer is Liberian-American, though, so you’d be supporting a Black-owned business.
But I haven’t seen any mention of this brand before, memes or no, so why has this suddenly shown up on Tumblr? Especially since it’s pretty low priced compared to a lot of designer names. Let me google!
Ah. AOC bought a somewhat pricey, but practical, designer name bag, supporting a Black immigrant both directly and by providing publicity for his business. Suddenly, a post appears on Tumblr encouraging socialist and communist-leaning people to hate people carrying this particular designer name bag.
She’s up for reelection in two months.
This is what propaganda looks like.
this is 100% why i never fucked with that “normcore” nonsense and why i’m still extremely self-conscious about what i wear and how my clothes fit, even after my weight loss. wearing “normal” clothes only becomes “fashion” when it’s on skinny attractive people and once it’s on a fat person it’s suddenly the trappings of the tacky and the unwashed poors. fuck out of here. you can make anything look good.
Hanging out with old people rules because after a while they trust you enough to confess to murder totally unprompted
Wait what.
Sometimes old ladies had to kick the ladder out from under their stepfathers when they were girls and that’s valid
ive been SAYING this but growing up gay is a traumatic experience in and of itself
like not that anyone asked BUT to expand on this but despite the obvious interactions with homophobia that every gay person is bound to encounter its just like…your family/even some close friends never ~truly~ know who you are or what you’re interested in because the Gay Experience is about protecting your identity/interests before everything else so by the time you grow up even your parents - no matter how accepting they think they are - have absolutely no inkling about who you really are as a person and thats just a super lonely and exhausting way to exist within a family or a social circle broe!
if the gay character of a show looks like this its probably a really bad show
bold of u to say glee is a bad show
glee is a bad show
Legit it’s what happened but it’s hilarious when put like that
we’re really at that point in the year where no one cares about anything huh
My psych professor mentioned swaddling in lecture so I emailed him a picture of me being swaddled in my dorm room and asked if I could get extra credit because it was really hot in there and I got really sweaty and he was like “fabulous, sure”
I’m going to miss the Honors Advisor from my university.
North vs South
In a culture where people ask how you’re doing as a symbol of politeness and not out of any sincere desire to actually Know, you are equally expected to answer with some vague polite affirmative (“it’s going good/fine/ok”). Being truthful and saying “it’s not going well/its going bad” implies intimacy and invites further questions about your personal life. So somehow the alternative has become that being exactly neutral conveys a sense of negativity and gets the point across without opening yourself to invasive questions from strangers (Who, once again, are probably only asking them because this is the politness script) and honestly it’s kinda buckwild.
If you’re an adult, especially if you’re new to being an adult, you need to start being aware of how your interactions with minors will affect them. It doesn’t matter if you still feel like a teenager and it doesn’t matter if your underage friends are super duper mature in your conversations with them. As an adult, it is up to you to place boundaries and not cross them for the sake of keeping the minors in your life safe. It is up to you to know what is and isn’t appropriate to say and do to them. Please think critically about the way you interact with minors and don’t hassle them, pressure them, or make them feel unsafe for any reason under any circumstances. You’re the adult. You should know better.
