I've been gone a long time
Hello again everyone!
I was thinking about this place a few days ago and about how much time I used to spend on here with you all and it made me realise that I just dropped off of the face of the earth without an explanation. Some of you probably don't mind that but some of you might've been interested in what's been happening. So here's a bit of an update:
- I qualified as a veterinary surgeon and got a job that I've been at for nearly two years now. It's busy but I like it. I have clients who specifically ask for me now and patients who get excited to see me whenever they come in. It's a nice feeling.
- I moved house. It's a bit bigger and suits our needs a bit more. It means I'm a bit further away from everyone but we're all grown ups now and can understand that we're still friends even if we're not just two streets away from each other.
- Star (the dog I adopted?) is doing wonderfully. She's come a long way and is a lot more confident in herself now. She actively goes up to other people without much encouragement to say hello and even has a few dogs she plays with.
- Danny is still Danny. He's constantly up to mischief and I'm not sure that will ever change. But he has a long term girlfriend now who is very nice and we frequently meet up to see how things are getting on. Her name is India, she's a year younger than him and I've witnessed her throw him over her shoulder multiple times. They play fight a lot and he's happy. He also got a job as a mechanic and has been doing that properly for a year now.
- Annabeth lives with me now. It's our house. We picked it together and couldn't be happier. She is 100% part of the family now and I'm pretty sure my parents love her more than me sometimes...
- My Mum is still into anime and snacks. My Dad bought her the studio ghibli boxset for her birthday back in July and she's watched all of the films multiple times already.
- My Dad is still my Dad. He bought himself a drone the other week and within an hour of having it he had crashed it into a wall and broken it beyond repair. He now has a new drone that he daren't fly anywhere that isn't an open field.
- I still play the piano frequently although I do less performances (if you can call them that) now. I mainly play for myself and that is okay.
- And the biggest news? I got engaged. We went to France and we'd planned this whole thing to go to the beach one night to see the meteor shower (no light pollution there so it's the perfect place) and I proposed. She said yes. The wedding is in two years (we hope) and we're both looking forward to it! I couldn't imagine a better person to spend my life with and I'm grateful I get the opportunity to spend it with her.
- And last but not least - I still really like the song Gold Digger.
I'm not coming back to this site. I don't think I'll ever be as frequent as I was back then. There's just too much happening in my life and the spare time I have is spent doing other things unfortunately. But maybe I'll remember about this place occassionally and come and update you on my happenings in life.
I miss you all dearly and I truly hope your lives are going well. You all made me so proud over the time we spent together and I think about you frequently. Try not to get up to too much trouble now I'm not around as much. I'd hate to miss out on all the fun.
See you later, kids
- Ashton
