I disagree with the popular fanon idea that Guts and Casca's relationship was centered solely around their shared experiences with Griffith. Griffith was not the driving force behind their connection. Gutsca formed a bond with each other when Griffith was not around, and when they were not focused on their respective roles in relation to Griffith. Gutsca bonded with each other on their own, independent of their issues with Griffith. Even Griffith himself noticed them bonding.
