Are you living or dreaming of living?
4:14pm San Francisco, Ca
As I stared deep into my friend's eyes's, I could see the envy growing within them. I just announced I am moving to France for a few months. Something I regretted not doing in college with the study abroad program.
"What do you do for a living?" or "I wish I could live your life" soon follows suit after telling them of my move.
As you begin to live outside of the reality society has put forth on you, slowly you begin to realize most people live day by day. They let their fears dictate their outcome. They convince themselves that their fears are valid. They fear living their dream. Why?
They simply can't accept it will ever happen to them, so they settle for less. They live day by day, repeating the same things over and over again until they wither way and die.
The next time you find yourself questioning why you don't have something in life, ask yourself what is the root of the fear?
The difference between those who live a life they dreamed of and those that don't is one person made it a point to not let their fears hold them back.

Travel Tips for Paris
Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There is something electric in the air, it may be the smell of wine and cigarettes. Traveling to Paris can be an exhilarating experience but it can also be a horrible one if you don't know some things. If you are thinking about traveling to Paris, here are a few tips that can save you a headache: 1. Taxi are expensive here (10-25 euros a trip) so grab the metro instead (3,40 euros round trip). 2. Save money on food by staying in an apartment. You can save a lot of money by eating at home instead of restaurants. AirBnb.com allows you to rent rooms/entire apartments. 3. Going to Versailles? Be aware that the train you catch to get there is not a metro train. You will be forced to pay 49 euros for not knowing the difference. 4. The lines at the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, and pretty much every tourist hot spot will be the longest lines you've ever seen. Go early and get a good spot! 5. Get a Museum Pass, this will pay dividends for you later. 6. The French people love formality so be sure to always say "Bonjour" when greeting! The fastest way to piss off a French person is to not even try speaking French. 7. In France, DO NOT TIP! Tipping is considered an insult! 8. If anyone comes up asking for money, quickly turn them down and walk away. If you are too nice then they will linger.
Happy New Years from Paris

2:14pm England Countryside - Eurostar Train As I gaze out of the window looking at the countryside of England, the world doesn't seem as big as I thought. The lush fields of grass with perfectly placed English houses looks picturesque. The lands almost masjectic as if it has magical powers to heal any broken soul. Across from me sits a stereotypical French woman next to her bratty 7 year old who refuses to eat his sandwich. The train has the aroma of freshly cooked curry. Indian food is very popular on this side of the world. At the corner of my eye, I can see a creepy young French boy stare at me. I know I stand out like a sore thumb here. The train operator announces in French that we are going to cross the British channel to enter France. Tears of joy fill my eyes, there is nowhere I rather be right now than here. Far away from the ghettos of California and mansions of San Francisco. Only a few short years ago, this was only a fantasy swimming around my mind. The best things in life are free. Who would of thought sitting in a train cart that reeks of curry has helped me realize to truly seize the day. Back in the states, I was extreme workaholic who could never enjoy small pleasures. I feel embarrassed to say that money and accomplishments were the most important things to me. The list went as follows: 1. Accumulation of wealth 2. Business and accomplishments 3. Family and friends 4. Health This lead to a dysfunctional relationships with family, a abusive personal relationship, weight gain, depression, and general unhappiness. I could never truly enjoy simple pleasures of life. Maybe that was what my ex was trying to tell me all those years. What is wealth without health and close relationships? I can happily say my values have changed. Travel has a way of healing a broken lost soul such as mine. There is something about going somewhere far from your home that puts clarity into life. As I travel to France to check items off my bucket list, I could not be happier to be here in this moment. As I finish this blog post, I am entering France. Au revior for now.
Thoughts from Abroad
8:15pm London, Waterloo "This must be a dream" I muttered under my breathe as we walked through the streets of London. I lived my life through a tv screen in the United States. Traveling abroad seemed like a fantasy, exclusive to only the privileged. Thoughts on our culture filled my mind. We live in a world where the consumption of material things is used to fill boredom and show off our wealth. We have forgotten the value of experiences. Life is about experiences and simple pleasures. The sound of Big Ben's bells fill the streets of London. As I walk deeper into the nooks and crannies of London, the feeling of overwhelming gratitude fills me. How many people get to experience this? The chilling breeze, the double decker buses, the smells of the streets, and the old buildings. TV can never compare to the experience of actually being there in person. Maybe it's time to question why we put some much emphasis on consuming rather than experiencing.

“The act of vagabonding is not an isolated trend so much as it is a spectral connection between people long separated by place and time, but somehow speaking the same language.” ― Rolf Potts
