Character summary: A scrappy little Londoner who's been one of the X-men for just a few years, Leila's given humanity just what they expect from a mutant: Her worst. Because of this, she has a criminal past and is often labeled a domestic terrorist because of her fighting for mutant rights, as her methods are less than peaceful. She finds the label funny. Professor X does not. Magneto has tried to use her contempt for society to pull her to his side on several occasions, but she chooses Kurt and the team over her personal beliefs.
More below the cut!
Age: Early twenties
Gender: Cis female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Height: 5'4"
Appearance: Tan skin and a Pixar mom build, with wide hips, a small chest, and a smaller waist. Gray eyes with black sclera and pale pupils, usually hidden behind purple-lensed sunglasses. Her ears are pierced multiple times, and the right lobe is torn from where an earring was ripped out during a fight. She has a labret piercing, too, and white bands naturally occurring around her throat, biceps, wrists, thighs, and ankles, like the bands in banded onyx.
Hobbies: Reading, mostly trashy bodice rippers. Listening to opera and classic rock. Shaping tiny animals out of her onyx, just to see if she can.
Talents: Small and fast and wily. Street smart. Book smart in surprising ways. Learned to fence in school and still occasionally does it for fun.
Powers: Can generate large chunks of onyx at will, mostly from her hands. These can be used as projectiles or made into shields, as well as acting as close-range weapons.
Family: Father, Richard Whitby, an archaeologist. Mother Khadija (Née Hamza) Whitby, an anthropologist. Both her parents are retired now. Older brother Yasir Whitby, killed when his mutation was discovered by a group of anti-mutant hoodlums.
Love interests: First Hank, then Kurt.
Canon relationships: She and Kurt hit it off immediately, being two sides of the same coin, and they've been close ever since. She's mostly disinterested in Scott, Jean, and Professor X, seeing them as bores and resenting their authority over her, though she bends for the sake of mutantkind. She's very close to Morph, and she's taken on a big sister role for Jubilee. She likes Logan and Rogue, adores Hank, and greatly respects Ororo. She has yet to make up her mind regarding Roberto and Forge.
Personality: Sassy, snarky, and cynical. Charming and playful, but emotionally closed off to protect herself after her painful teenage years.
History: Leila was born in London to a moderately wealthy family, and she attended Catholic school with very little issue until the murder of her brother, Yasir, due to his being a mutant. Her powers showed themselves then, and a few of her classmates were injured. Rather than make things worse for her family, she took off, eventually landing herself in a reform facility, where she was stuck until she turned eighteen. After her release, she left the UK for America, bumming around New York City for a while until she encountered the X-Men. Though she was hesitant to join, she was in no position to turn down three hots and a cot, so she went along with it, connecting with Morph in particular. Hank came later, and they bonded over their love of opera and classical music, though the relationship didn't last. They're still very close. She's been with the team for years now, though she has occasional moments of anger at the Professor's passivity.
I'm definitely gonna be expanding this eventually, but at least I have the basics done!
Is your Blorbo more likely to break the cycle (specifically something inflicted on them that they would then inflict on someone else) or are they more likely to perpetuate the cycle?

Please keep interacting with this post because when I come to tumblr to procrastinate, this shows up again in my notifications and guilts me into writing again
ok but if Lalo and Nacho are canonically fucking, there are so many things that used to be just a bit sus before that make so much more sense.
like, for example, what’s with the constant car pooling? they each got their own car. are they environmentally aware? probably not. wouldn’t it be super awkward for them to constantly pick each other up before going places? no, what if instead, they just very often start their day at the same place?
