theyve done studies on the accuracy of wikipedia vs encyclopedia brittanica, and theyve found that its about as accurate
but thats not the point, youre not supposed to use ANY encyclopedia as a primary source anyway, they are all secondary sources useful for getting a broad knowledge but not so much for fine details
at this point in research, you want to look at the sources, and wikipedia excels at this
