Shoutout to systems who feel like they're faking because they can't remember their trauma. I promise that you're not faking, you're so so valid. It's normal not to remember your trauma. That's the whole part of DID/OSDD - to keep you safe and help you survive. You do not need to remember your trauma now or ever to be valid.

Even if what you did today seems like a "baby step", you can still see it as a victory, because healing is a long and strenuous process for many of us. No step is insignificant.

You know that disorienting sensation you get when you're waking up from a nightmare and trying to get your bearings and remember where you are and what time it is?

Sometimes I abruptly have that exactly sensation even though I have been awake for hours. Out of the blue it will feel like I have just woken up and moments ago I was dreaming of being somewhere else.

I usually have this mixture of memories that are both true at the same time. 20 minutes ago I was eating dinner, but I was also dreaming of being chased by a monster. Both are true. I remember both. I was asleep having a nightmare, but I was also eating dinner.

I think this is one of the most confusing DID/Dissociation related things I experience. I don't really know what to make of it. I think it happens when parts who were "asleep" inside come into awareness and blend in with me and our awareness gets all blended together.

The truth is there is no trauma that’s not valid. If you’re asking if your trauma is valid, it’s always “yes”.

Trauma isn’t about the specific event(s) that caused it but is instead about the impact the specific event(s) have on you.

You don't need to be perfect to be worthy of anything: to be recognized, loved, or considered successful, or to be good at something. You are enough as you are. Take that risk, you can do it and you will do it well while having a great journey.
