Hearty winter breakfast! Mornings have gotten really cold now so I’m incorporating miso soup and rice in my breakfast because it keeps me warm and full without feeling bloated. It’s so uncomfortable to study otherwise! 

(I have my soup spoon and knife the wrong way - oops.) 

Did some Japanese study and revision this week to break away from architecture assignments.

14 DAYS UNTIL DEADLINE ~ COME JOIN ME

I have about 3-4 assignments due in the next 14 days, so I was thinking of doing a ‘live’ blog during that time in which I’ll document my days (and my work progress) of what the last two weeks of semester at a Master’s of Architecture looks like.

April 2017.

I started my thesis about a month or so ago. I was not prepared for the amount of work. I’m actually doing an exegesis (project-based research) which is so incredibly hard (well at least I am finding it hard!!). Plus I’m doing another two subjects and I’m still studying Japanese externally from Uni. 

Plus I’ve eaten too much chocolate this Easter. I guess I’m lucky I’m not lactose intolerant though(lol jks. I am lactose intolerant so I feel horrible!). 

Anyone else drowning under piles of assignments and homework? I surely can’t be alone in this....haha!

January 2017.

Had my first Japanese lesson last week! It was intense as only 5 words of English was spoken the entire class, everything else was in Japanese or charades. At least I’ll be more prepared for my next lesson on what to expect!

Sorry for the quality! I need new batteries for my other camera :( But I picked up some supplies from Muji because next week I’ll be starting to learn Japanese!

I learnt Japanese about 10 years ago (wow I didn’t realise how long ago that was until I did the math) and 8 years since I’ve been to Japan. So I decided that this years I want to tackle learning it again because I do love the language, culture and my favourite architects are all Japanese. 

So I got a folder, some dividers, grid paper and study flash cards! :)

December 2016.

I’ve been really busy these last five weeks at my drawing board hand drafting my design. I decided that for this summer class I am going to hand draw everything even if it means getting blisters and cramps in my hand (which has already happened)!

October 2016. Did a little bit more on this one point perspective. Still deciding on what else to add to the scene. So many choices! But I'm thinking a library with an atrium space. What do you guys think?

September 2016. A bit colourful today but here I'm colour coding the different areas/functions of the design and how each area relates to the other.

August 2016. I've been a bit quiet since my last post but I haven't stopped drawing! Learnt some new techniques like drawing arches in perspective and polishing off my drafting skills, so I'm doing a drawing that implements this technique.

June 2016. Simple study of stairs in one point perspective.

June 2016. WIP One point perspective interior study. I need to improve my drawings - especially to communicate with clients etc. So I'll be doing a lot of perspective studies!

Finally finished the elevations and floor plans which are not pictured here. Time to watercolour these and I'll be close to submitting the assignment!
