Marichat but they kiss and nothing goes wrong…
The vegan to ecofascist pipeline
Actually I'm going to expand on the steps of the pipeline.
It starts with:
"I want to do something to better the environment". A noble pursuit.
Then, "Large scale animal agriculture is bad for the environment". Accurate statement.
Then, "Therefore, I am going to stop consuming all animal products and biproducts." A lofty goal, but still reasonable. It's not something that's for everyone, but if that's what you want to do to do your part, more power to you.
Then, "If I can do it, so can you." Inaccurate. The human body is suited ideally for an omnivorous lifestyle. While the human body is very adaptable, its adaptability varies from person to person, and not everyone is able to subsist off of a vegan lifestyle.
Then, "People who don't follow my lifestyle are maliciously contributing to climate change." We're going into dangerous 'us vs. them' territory now. Now everyone who consumes animal products and biproducts even utilyzes large-scale animal agriculture, and there are myriad of reasons for someone to not be vegan. Personal lifestyle choices are also a distraction from the larger issue at hand, which is that corporations contribute the most to climate change, and blaming yourself and other individuals is a distraction.
Then, "Human beings are responsible for climate change. Humans are inherently destructive." False. Corporations and industrialization is responsible for climate change. Humans are inherently neutral, and for the most part are actually good.
Then, "If there were less people on this Earth, we would have less climate change and pollution." And there we are. At the ecofascism finish line.
Not every vegan ends up at the ecofascist finish line. Many vegans stay comfortably on the third rung of the ladder, focusing on their own personal boundaries and lifestyle choices. However, as soon as you dip your toes into the "if I can do it, so can you" mentality, that's when the ball begins rolling down the slippery slope of ecofascism.
As soon as you begin forcing your lifestyle onto other people, that's when it becomes dangerous.
😳 so…
me being raised on 90s internet rules where telling someone online your favorite color was giving out too much personal information watching gen z youtubers give out their real first and last names and telling everyone the exact city and apartment complex where they live
Please stop making caards listing out all your mental illnesses, race, age, gender, sexuality, full name, location, school, job history, specific special interests and hyperfixations to the point where someone can easily stalk you through the information you are posting. No one is entitled to know any of this for any reason. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone.
I know you’re tired bitch but keep fucking going
The system is rigged. The advantages for the wealthy are immediate and endless.
If your vote didn’t matter THEY WOULDN’T BREAK LAWS LEFT AND RIGHT TO KEEP YOU FROM VOTING
“And that quote, “The only disability in life is a bad attitude,” the reason that that’s bullshit is because it’s just not true.” - Stella Young
[IDs: Screenshots from the late, great, Stella Young’s TED Talk: I’m Not Your Inspiration, Thank You Very Much. Stella is a wheelchair-user sitting up on the stage in front of a massive crowd. In these screenshots, she’s saying, “No amount of smiling at a flight of stairs has ever made it turn into a ramp. Never. (Laughter. Applause.) Smiling at a television screen isn’t going to make closed captions appear for people. No amount of standing in the middle of a bookshop and radiating a positive attitude is going to turn all those books into braille.]
I use this speech and the underlying theories a lot in my PhD, but Stella Young honestly had one of those voices that needs to be heard by everyone, so I figured I’d post my favorite part of the speech here. If anyone remembers that time I threw myself onto the floor For The Vine, you’ll know that I also hate the quote: “The only disability in life is a bad attitude”. Stella just conveyed the message with less pain.

Happy Disability Pride Month 2022!
When corporations inevitably try to commodify disability in the same way they rainbow-wash queer identities, remember that toxic positivity and overly-inspiring videos do nothing to address the real inaccessibility and discrimination that disabled people of all intersecting identities experience!

psa: reshade 5.0.2 doesn’t play nicely with TS3 :(
i forgot to mention this earlier but when i was reinstalling TS3, i installed reshade 5.0.2 with it and it made the graphics really weird even with no shaders turned on, at least in windowed mode at the time of this writing. so stick to 4.9.1 and older for now!!!
you can download reshade 4.9.1 and all older versions here: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/8ar1jhh1809cl/ReShade_Repository

hey that skyrim anniversary edition coming in november is apparently gonna break skyrim script extender (SKSE), any mods you have that use SKSE, and probably other mods too, beyond use, much of which will probably never be fixed.
supposedly the skyrim anniversary edition is going to patch skyrim special edition (current version) rather than just being a separate download like SSE was, so this issue will be unavoidable if you let it happen.
so, (if youre using a legally acquired version of skyrim at least lol), youll need to prevent steam/etc from auto-updating if you dont want your mods annihilated . an additional issue is that steam doesnt allow you to fully disable updates, and at best you can just switch it to 'only update game when launched'. so do that and then from this point on just like.. only launch from SKSE
and be sure you have these files backed up in case of an accidental update or possible future workarounds:
reminder to back up your files TODAY if you havent yet, the change happens tomorrow (11/11)

When the whole party is down but your bard is up
jack had absolutely no right to go this hard
um excuse me Jack not only may but must go this hard
Conservatives will be like “Why are you holding me accountable for my bigoted beliefs? Whatever happened to tolerance???”
The response to that is Tolerance Is Not a Moral Precept - it is a peace treaty. It is a contract of cooperation, or at least, of non-interference.
the model of a peace treaty differs from the model of a moral precept in one simple way: the protection of a peace treaty only extends to those willing to abide by its terms. It is an agreement to live in peace, not an agreement to be peaceful no matter the conduct of others. A peace treaty is not a suicide pact.
(Bold added)
Someone who’s actively trying to oppress, belittle, exclude, or harm people based on their identities is not complying with the contract, so there’s no reason to extend its protection to them.
This. The original push for “tolerance” as a standard of interactions was literally a “please stop killing us” message, by many groups of people, and to respond to that with “but that would interfere with our support of killing you, you hypocrites” is such a deliberate misunderstanding of the situation that it outright breaks any understanding of tolerance it’s applied to that doesn’t explicitly make this distinction, and has done so with impunity for decades.
