You gotta hand it to Fig. All of the Bad Kids were given foils this season and they got to decide how much they wanted to engage with that part of the plot. Gorgug only interacted with Mary Ann in passing despite them both being on the Owlbears. Fabian noped out of chatting up Ivy once she crossed a line with Mazey. Riz was so busy that he truly had no time to engage with Kipperlilly even though she's obsessed with him. Kristen interacted a bit with Buddy but spent way more time verbally sparring with Kipperlilly. And Adaine was somewhat interested in Oisin but never overtly acted on it.

But Fig?

She's in Ruben's WALLS. She's in his DREAMS. She's faking her alter emo's death. She's got the Fantasy FBI after her. She's SO SO tiny. No one is doing it like Fig's doing it.

see, here's the problem: i didn't necessarily dislike the ending

it makes sense that everything was building up to the passengers coming back to the beginning

BUT THEN

why give us a season of ben and saanvi if the original plan was ben going back to grace and saanvi going back to alex?

at this point i would have preferred ben and saanvi being JUST friends the whole series and nothing else, as much as i loved their scenes this season

the writers can't keep their foot in both shoes and satisfy all audiences. they wanted ben and grace? great, then STICK TO THAT

(the same goes for jared and michaela vs zeke and michaela

i for one i am SO GLAD michaela chose zeke in the end but i still had to suffer through AN ENTIRE SEASON of her being back with jared for no reason)

i get this, but imo it’s meant to be messy. all of these characters are under an insane amount of stress, literally working to prevent the end of the world, and in the panic there is a desperation for connection. that’s kinda what i got from this last season- there is so much love between all of these people that sometimes there are times when it’s romantic, even if it is a platonic love most of the time. life is messy and love is messy but in the end (i think) everyone ended up with who they were meant to. (i’m a little iffy on alex and saanvi but it does appear in this timeline she left her husband for her, which if it had happened in 2013 in the other timeline probably would have changed a lot of what we know about her)
