Blood of Our Prey: The Vorax's Myth
for our endless appetite.
Their blood tastes sweet on our mouths,
their wings a tasty treat.
one of our prey different.
their body for endless consuming.
their blood never ending.
on the blood of that prey,
a ceaseless suppy of reviving,
to continue the hunt eternal.
Child of Blessing: The Karnas's Myth
to escape their endless hunt.
Our wings a sacred image,
we won't allow them to take.
who will be able to save us,
Their blood will heal us, bless us,
But be warned, all those who read,
should the child of blessing
ever have their blood taken greedily,
without care or gentleness,
will have their minds ripped out,
by the same blood they feasted.
These two myths are from two tribes, who lived in Hallownest long before the Pale King arrived. One group lived in the forests where the City of Tears now stands. The other group wandered, hunting for prey. The hunters were the Vorax, a tribe of deadly wasps with ruthless appetites, their favorite prey being butterflies. The Karnas were a tribe of butterflies, a peaceful group who fled to the forests after being chased by the Vorax out of every other area. They lived in a way that our world would describe as "bird-like," building their homes in trees and flying between them for food.
