Version 0.52 is out! I know it’s been a bit since we’ve talked, Tumblr, but it’s high time we got around to actually updating everyone on the game’s development.

So we’ve decided to skip v0.31 and dive right in to v0.4. It should take longer to finish, but expect a great deal more content when it’s finished!

EDIT: I’m working on a new, more efficient character sheet. I’m hoping that it’ll be ready by tomorrow. I’ll post it as an individual PDF and update the PDF for the game to include the revised sheet.
Slow and steady progress continues to be made - don’t you worry. Expect an updated PDF later this week with Combat and Ki Attacks in a playable state.
If you’re curious as to how Ki Attacks work, it’s actually not terribly too difficult. You begin by picking the type of attack:
Ball attacks are the standard attacks you see, like those repeated energy blasts Vegeta does, or Broly’s attacks, or Big Bang Attack. They can be parried, blocked or dodged.
Blast attacks are explosive surges of energy, like Nappa’s Bakuhatsuha (the exploding finger thing), or Gohan’s Explosive Madan. Because they’re, y’know, explosions, they can’t be parried. They can still be blocked and dodged.
Beam attacks are the famous wave based energy attacks that everyone uses. They can be parried, blocked and dodged, but they have access to the Magnitude property, which greatly increases how much damage they do. Do you need examples of this? Really? Kamehameha, Galick Gun. Special Beam Cannon.
After that, you get to pick a series of modifiers that can do things like change the size of an attack, how much damage it does, how long it takes to charge, and things of that nature. You can also pick out special properties such as whether or not the attack has a homing property, or explodes on contact for bonus damage. Each modifier and property can increase or decrease how much experience it costs to create an attack and/or how much Ki from your Ki Pool it takes to actually use the attack.
Check it out, it’s almost like work is getting done or somethin’.
