Q. 1) How has dissociating affected your daily life?
A: It used to affect me a lot, especially before I knew that I had DID, and I didn’t know mine/everyones triggers. Now, there is a lot more unity within our system, and everyone knows that if they want to, or need to, that they are more than welcome to front. Really bad dissociation only happens from a negative trigger, or loud public places. -Rae
Q. 2) What are your favorite coping techniques?
A: Listening to music (this one is a big help! Everyone has their own playlist), squeezing my hands together/squeezing someone else’s hand(s), naming something I can feel, see, and hear, then describing those three things in detail, either to myself or someone else, singing. -Rae
Q. 3) Do you have an inner world/headspace? If so, what is it like? If not, have you thought about visualizing and creating one?
A: Answered above (: -Rae
Q. 4) Do you lose time and, if so, how do you deal with that?
A: Yes! Yes, yes, yes, allll of the time! (weirdly enough, most often in the shower) I normally have a stopwatch going on my phone. It really helps with knowing if I’ve been on the computer too long, or if it’s time to emerge from my room lol -Rae
Q. 5) What’s a non-alter DID/OSDD thing you wish more people knew about? (since a majority of media interest is in the alters aspect, but both of these conditions are so much more!)
A: First off, well said! And I really wish the people knew how common DID/OSDD is. There’s not one person, every ten years that ‘magically’ has this -Rae/Lexi/Ava
Q. 6) And finally, a fun one
What’s your favorite bonding activity to lower dissociative barriers and bond with your headmates?
A: I really, REALLY love listening to music, and have a massive playlist. One of my favorite things to do, is put all of my songs on shuffle, and see what songs trigger who, or who like a particular song. That song then get’s put into their playlist, and pretty soon, that alter has a list of songs that’s just for them. It’s also very helpful if someone needs to stay fronted for some reason, plus, we get to jam out and have dance parties! -Rae/Kelsise/A little
