In all my years of reading X-Men comics
The Krakoa Era of X-Men was the worst.
By far. Without a doubt sheer and utter dog shite from beginning to end.
I know I'm not saying anything new. It's near universally agreed that it was the utterly worst.
But I feel that it still must be said.
The utter worst. Long may it stay dead, and soon may it be retconed.
every day for the rest of my life
IN THE ENDGAME NOW
Avengers No Road Home.

Sweet! Now I can cosplay him without having to shave! Happy days!
So that ‘Titans’ trailer.
There’s a lot to unpack here, but the long and short of it is, the show looks shit, it looks lazy, and chances are I will not be watching it.
Lets start off with the Major issue of it, and I do mean the major issue, this is the biggest problem.
Robin. Robin wouldn’t say ‘fuck batman’.... Wait, well. Not Dick at least. Jason Todd would say that. No, Dick Grayson would have said something cooler, something more intimidating. The Teen Titans Animated Series did this right. And gave the line that should have been used. Dick should have said: “I work alone” It would have set Robin up with a clean break from Batman, but also showing there is bad blood there, also setting up the challenge and change of Dick Greyson turning form lone vigilante to part of a Hero Team, not just a part of a team though, but Leading it! Also Robin doesn’t kill people. (again maybe Jason Todd would, as Red Hood though), he doesn't like stab people in the neck, or chest, or break a guys neck, I mean he clearly killed a few dudes in that trailer fight. And that shows that the show/series/show runners don’t get the character. Which in turns makes me question everything else they’re going to do, or try to do. It sets up the show to fail right from the get go.
Next. Is that Dove killing people? Dove is the pacifist one, she’s not meant to be killing folk, or like busting their legs open, what the fuck people!
Production values, CGI, and of course Starfire. So they spent money on Robin’s costume, and on Hawk and Dove’s costume, and looks like they’ve possibly spent some money on Raven’s eventual look, but Beastboy and Starfire have had no money spent on them, what so ever? We can’t really judge what Beastboy will be like, because honestly, they haven’t showed much, he did at least look like he was bit green in the trailer, but didn’t show how they were even going to handle his powers. And i think that’s possibly what is the problem, there’s too many unknowns, how will he look, how will his powers be handled, will he transform totally, or just do the whole ‘vixen’ type thing with his powers as I saw someone suggest they might do to save money on CGI... so yeah that’s a huge question mark. And then of course there is Starfire. I’m going to come out and say it; Starfire is orange, and so should be orange. The actress they have cast to play her, she looks fine enough. I can’t comment on her acting ability, i can’t comment on the acting ability of any of the cast, i’ve not seen anyone of them in anything, but having looked through the google image results of Anna Diop she is hot enough. My issue isn’t with the casting of her to play the role, my issue is with the production side of things. They have put her in a terrible ‘costume’/dress with a horrible wig, when compared to the costumes of Robin and Hawk/Dove, and seemingly not trying to make her orange. And I think this leads back into the point I was trying to make with Robin. These mistakes, makes me think that the creators of the show don’t care for the characters or the show, and if they don’t care, why should I care? In an era where me can make Zoe Saldana green, Karen Gillan blue, we’ve had tv shows in the past like Andromeda who had the character of Trance Gemini who was both Purple and Gold/Orange at certain parts of the show, as well as several blue characters on Star Trek Enterprise and in Farscape, as well as sometimes green, and grey characters, We Can actually make Starfire orange. And choosing not too, isn’t saying something good about race in the modern era. It’s just showing laziness or lack of care for the product. And if they don't care, why should I care? And again, this is nothing to do with Anna Diop, or Ryan Potter this is all on production and the studio.
And finally the thing everyone should note. This is not a Reboot This is not a reboot. This is not a reboot. Say it with me. This is not a reboot of the early 2000s cartoon series. This is alive action interpretation of the Comics. Characters, Robin, Raven, Beastboy, Starfire, will not be how you ‘know them’ if all you know of them is the 2000s cartoon show. The cartoon show took some liberties with the source material to make it it’s own thing. And at the time, there were some that thought it was too goofy and comedic. That it was a Teen Titans show with the personality of Young Justice comics. Which is ironic now, as we have a Young Justice show with the personality of the Teen Titians comics. So if you think Raven has always been a never afraid, meditating, always in control over her emotions level headed character... I’d suggest you turn off the tv, and go read a comic book. She got there, there’s no denying that, but it took time and many a comic book page for that character growth. And this show is seemingly telling the story of The New Teen Titians (vol1) where Raven bamfs into a topless Dicks bedroom to tell him she needs his help. That help? To fight/defeat her deamon father from invading the earth and killing everyone that lives there. So again, not a reboot.
Over all I had very little hopes and low expectations, and still was left disappointed. Oh well.

I’ve worked out why I think Super Sons works.
The whole reason why i like it and the reason it is basically single handedly redeeming Damian Wayne. And it’s simple.
It’s Gilgamesh and Enkidu.
No really.
Damian is Gilgamesh, and Jon is Enkidu. And it’s not just surface things like Damian/Gil is form the city and Jon/Enk is from the country side.
Damian is, frankly if we were to treat him as a real world person, an unlikeable ass. He’s arrogant, egotistical and self important. He’s a Dick. But annoying he does have the powers to back himself up. He’s also the son of one of the ‘gods’... I mean Batman. So his importance is there.
That is actually sounding an awful lot like Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh was a dick, an arrogant egotist who thought he could do no wrong. The son/descendant of a god, and had the power to back himself up.
Now this might seem like i’m shitting on Damian, but Gilgamesh is like the ‘first hero’, like the first narrative hero of story telling. Gilgamesh is one of, if not THE greatest hero. But you might be thinking, ‘you just described Gilgamesh as an arrogant pompous ass though’ And you’d be right. But he was only that at first.
You see the Gods though Gil was being too much of an ass so they send Enkidu, a man not from ‘civilisation’, to knock sense into him. The two meet, the two fight, and then the two become bros. Gilgamesh and Enkidu work out that they work well together, like really well, and through their friendship Gil stops being an ass and becomes a decent human being and king.
And that is basically what’s happening in Super Sons. And I love it.
VOTE DOOM!
Regardless what happens next. That is an amazing drawing of Selina Kyle
Also. Say yes. Please say yes. This would be so much better than Bruce ‘giving up being Batman’ that’s been teased.
Does Jason Todd still dye his hair (from Red to Black), or has that been retconned now?
