Some memories are meant to be treasured, not relived forever. Looking back once felt like honoring my past. But healing changes you. Today, I wouldn’t make many of the same choices I did then. And that is something to celebrate. Because this woman deserves her own memories.
I am not a therapist. I am just emotionally intelligent. Or at least...that's what some people would assume after reading my work. The truth is more complicated.
I Have a Confession: I Forgot I Was Protected
A Short Sunday Lesson I have a confession… I am always in defense mode. What does that look like? It looks like constantly scanning for danger. It looks like resting bitch face (which, despite what I tell myself, is not the opposite of smiling). It is not smiling at people when they catch your eye, which is considered very rude to my Southern roots. I passed a young family outside the mall…

Sometimes healing looks like dancing in your kitchen before sunrise, thanking God for a life you once only imagined. This is a reflection on forgiveness, growth, and learning to embrace the beautiful duality of being deeply content while still dreaming of what's next.
Honoring my rhythm is part of becoming the person I want to be. No emergency required. 🤍
I think healing is sometimes just returning to yourself in smaller, quieter ways. Not becoming someone new. Not reinventing your entire life. Just finally hearing yourself again. ~ A DreamGirl
The Seed Was Just the Beginning
A year ago today, I was challenged by a Christian leader to seek God intentionally through prayer and revisit those prayers at specific intervals: 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months later. Being the obedient (insert an Ashley giggle here 😉) woman that I am, I accepted the challenge and wrote down exactly what I desired to see unfold in each season. Of course, there were practical things…
The most striking difference between living in your shadow versus living in the light is the clarity of mind it brings… Just because I can operate at a high pace doesn’t mean I should. Not all problems require a superhero.
You’re not supposed to build furniture in a hallway. Walk with me through this in-between moment in my latest entry, “In-Between Balance.”
Abundance doesn’t arrive all at once—it teaches you how to breathe while you’re still unlearning anxiety. These are the moments where faith looks less like certainty and more like choosing anyway. No steering wheel on the ark. Just courage, obedience, and grace meeting me mid-journey.
The joy you see came after the sacrifice you didn’t. Read more in the latest entry: Peace Wasn’t Free.
Time didn’t heal my trauma. A decision did. Healing requires motion—not avoidance you’re calling maturity. This reflection is honest, heavy, and necessary. Read when you’re ready.
Some seasons ask for silence. Some ask for boundaries. Some ask for growth. This one just respects bloom. 🌿✨
I’ve learned that leaving isn’t always loss. Sometimes it’s alignment. Sometimes it’s trust. Sometimes it’s divine authorship—God holding the pen, me learning how to grow.
Some decisions aren’t about outcomes — they’re about alignment. I found myself choosing clarity over obligation, trusting God’s work in me, and finally letting the decision be mine. Ordinary on the surface. Miraculous in truth.
