Ah, but consider the different types of intelligence. There’s the purely mathematical bit that’s good with figuring out algorithms, there’s the creative bit that helps with thinking of an interesting solution in any given situation, the philosophical bit that helps with analyzing a situation and gives the best advice, etc. etc.. Goofy may not be the most intelligent in the mathematical side of things, but on every other level, he’s really clever because he thinks of the most interesting ways through a problem and it works. He’s also very smart because he gives the best advice to his friends in the games.

I can’t stand it when people think Goofy is just downright dumb or stupid or anything like that. Because he is smart, just not in the traditional sense you and I are used to. He’s someone who uses the creative side of his brain. And you want examples? I’LL GIVE YOU EXAMPLES IN THE KH UNIVERSE.

This is the guy who, in Traverse Town, suggested following Pluto to find Sora.

This is the guy who figured out Mulan was a woman before anyone else.

This is the guy who figured out how to get out of the tower (in musketeer past) without fighting the bad guys who at the time were stronger and better than them.

This is the guy who shoved Mickey out of the way and took a boulder to the head - not just for emotional reasons, but because he knew he would survive it better than the king. (To wit - he was surprised his friends thought he was dead, and quote, “Gwarsh, your majesty, I get bumps on the head all the time!”)

So yes, Goofy has difficulty with speech and slang, and he’s clumsy, but he is NOT STUPID. I WILL FIGHT ANYONE OVER THIS.
