Part 2: The Fallen Princess
She could still hear her mother's words in her ears: "One day you will be queen, my darling."
Oh yes, Mother, I will. No matter what price I have to pay!
Isolated from the world, Diaspro awaits her trial. A trial whose outcome is already predetermined. But her iron will remains unbroken. She will fight for her happiness, even if it means stepping over dead bodies.
“Don’t compare me to a witch. I’m a fairy, and I’m going to get that damn Enchantix somehow, and then Bloom will pay for everything. The entire Winx Club will pay. First Bloom, then Stella, and then the rest!” Magic surged through her with rage, making her hair float and shattering the windowpane after all.
“Control your anger, my dear.", Valtor said calmly. "Your life isn’t over yet, and you’ll get your chance to get revenge on Bloom and the Winx. But first, you must become their equal.”
“Why would you do that? What use am I to you?”
“Oh, you’re a pawn in my plans, nothing more, nothing less. An important pawn, just like your impulsive little friend.”
She raised an eyebrow. “You still want to use Chimera and Cassandra? They’re exiled too, and therefore useless to you.”
“I still decide the usefulness of a chess piece for myself,” he said with a strange smile that sent a chill down Diaspro’s spine. She didn’t trust this man. He would drop her as quickly as he had picked her up. Chess pieces were interchangeable. But not her. She would prove to him that she wasn’t a chess piece like his Trix. She might be a fairy, but she was cut from a different cloth than that accursed Winx Club. And so was Chimera. That’s what connected them. Their ambition, their ruthlessness in pursuing their goals.
“Chimera and I aren’t dolls dancing for you,” she replied coldly. “We’re more than that. I think I speak for both of us when I make it clear that we’re not mere henchmen. Without a compelling reason… an incentive worthy of our attention, your dear pawns will remain motionless.”
Her lips curled into a barely perceptible smile. "Even you should know: You don't get anything without paying."
