Trix Headcanon of the day #47

Who do they look up to?

Icy: She really doesn't look up to anyone. Everyone she was ever looked up to has let her down: (her mother, Belladonna, insert random man the trix followed around for a season here). The knowledge depresses her and she doesn't really have a game plan for what her goals are anymore. She is just trying to make it seem like she has a plan because she knows her sisters rely on her.

Darcy: Darcy conversely looks up to a lot of people. The list would include Liliss, her mother, Griffin, etc. She doesn't stop looking up to someone and dismiss them completely if they let her down or disappoints her; instead she overlooks their shortcomings. She is also more likely to look up to an idealized version of a person in spite of who they actually are. Darcy is a people pleaser and wants to be seen as perfect to the people she looks up to, even if they don't care about her.

Stormy: She really just looks up to her sisters. Whenever the trix were following (insert random evil man here) she wasn't as interested in impressing him as much as she was interested in making her sisters proud. For Stormy, her sisters are the ones who took care of her, been her teachers, and made her feel like she belongs somewhere. Because of this she is the only one of the trix that actually succeeded in impressing the people she looks up to.

Gaining Wings in Guarded

I am strictly talking Magic Winx

So...this post changed my brain chemistry forever and I need to make a separate post for my Guarded Au as we slowly approach the end...and the fact that i have been neglecting Winx in these posts.

Mostly because Winx remain as close to canon as possible with very small differences here and there mostly regarding Magix planets and realms.

Most likely I will expand on it once we reach the end of Guarded to explain the main war, how realms came to be, water stars and dragon flame lore.

For now sth bit more simple.

In order for any magical creature to transform and gain their wings they must overcome the first big obstacle in their life. Think the first big decision that forced them to be stronger, braver, a better being in a way. The moment you stand up for what you believe in.

For each fairy that moment was different and their wings often resemble that moment.

As @what-is-going-on-help pointed out Bloom's wings resemble strongly the enchanted butterflies from the episode 4 season 1 If I recall correctly also they remind me of how the Alfea's window is structured. In addition Bloom is from Earth (Season 1) so her vision of the fairy is connected to butterflies.

So yes big moment.

Stella's wings:

You see where I am going with this? Even her ring as scepter looks like sunflower.

Symbolism of the Sunflower

"It’s no surprise that both ancient and modern people associated the Sunflower with warmth, positivity, power, strength, and happiness since it bears such a strong resemblance to the Sun itself. In Greek mythology, it’s tied to a story of a nymph who becomes the flower after losing her love."

My guess? Stella as a Princess made a good deed toward her dear friend which granted her her wings. It could be saving the friend's party or helping her get with someone aka being a matchmaker which show Stella often does. Taking to Musa about Jared, telling Bloom to go on a date with Sky and so on. It checks out. Also it might have been Nova which we meet in Season 3. Another theory is about how she proved her own shine despite as a kid being quite awkward and wearing glasses. She either found a light within herself or within others.

Musa's wings:

Her wings reminds me of cello. Why? I mean these:

It can also refer to strings or flute or even 5 line in music sheets. I can only imagine maybe Musa then stood up to her father in stopping his destruction of other instruments or maybe she fixed it and played it awaking her inner magic. It was traumatic, sad but that kinds fit the vibe of our girl. She is empathetic, sensitive and very deeply connected with her emotions.

Flora's wings:

I tried hard finding sth that resembled the leaves of flower petals of Flora's wings but i forgot I don't like flowers...I went with ginger

Despite its symbolism being he opposite of our fairy at times I think it suits her. Flora has a moment when she stopped being sweet and fought. I could see her being resilient regarding a plant that died and she proved everyone by standing up and giving it a chance. Even fiercely protecting it. Maybe the plant was carnivore?

And despite it she wanted it to live and thrive even if it went against the what was known in nature. Maybe it was her first sentient plant?

Layla's wings:

I see fins, gills, a shape connected to her ancestry and her kingdom.

Layla as we learned was a closeted child and most likely her act of bravery allowed her to leave the palace walls and become the Layla we all adore. I can almost see her cousins maybe asking for help or she herself saw sth happening outside her window and decided I cannot stand by to see my people getting hurt or fish or truly anything and left the safety of her rooms and decided to take action.

She chose heroism. Maybe she saw one pixie struggling with water current and decided to help them when She and her parents went to visit Pixie village?

Tecna's wings:

A bit of a stretch but her wings reminds me of Antenas too

or satellite. Either all refer to going beyond. Reaching far when you are stuck in the same place. Tecna might have received her wings by becoming a messenger or someone who aided in sending a very important information. Sth broke, she was too young to fix it but created the alternative and made people around her take the unconventional initiative. Sth that Zenith wouldn't consider traditional or right, but it's Tecna and she left this planet to be more than machine.

Wings are gained and are fairy's pride...to think someone would want to lose them.

Apparently, from what I hear people say, in the new Tumblr update, if someone reblogs your post and adds a comment of their own, that reblog is counted as a new post and it belongs to the reblogger. Not you. You, as the OP, do not get the notifications if someone else later reblogs from the person who reblogged your post with their own comment. You can’t see what comments people leave on the reblogs of the post you originally made unless they reblogged directly from you.

If this is actually true, it will just open doors for harassment. And also it takes the credits away from the OPs. Tumblr’s etiquette has always been “reblog don’t repost”. So this new update, if true, contradicts the whole core values of Tumblr as a community.

Respectfully, we don’t want this @staff @support @tumblr @changes please listen to your users.

Green - Idk. It's Saint Patrick's day today. Obviously St. patty's isn't a thing in Magix, but I am still here to answer if the trix have green clothes or not.

Icy: No. She really only dresses in blues, whites, and blacks. She really is not that adventurous when it comes to her style. She will vary the shades of blue, so maybe she would have something in a more blue-green shade. But no. The answer is no

Darcy: Yes, however she is particular about the shade. I see her wearing a more pale yellow-green or a dark emerald green. She chooses these shades because she thinks she looks good in them and she is 100% correct. I wish we got to see Darcy wear more colors in the show, because while she does rock purple she would also look amazing in green

Stormy: Yup. She wouldn't really wear it that often, but she has green clothes. Unlike Darcy she does not care about the shade. If anything she would probably gravitate towards the brighter greens

Chocolate. Pretend it's still Valentine's day. Don't expect an in depth analysis on these choices, I didn't spend as much time thinking about these as I usually do.

Icy: She would eat white chocolate, not for the taste, but because it makes sense aesthetically

Darcy: She world eat dark chocolate and thinks she is better than you because of it

Stormy: She would like chocolate with different fillings. She also wouldn't check which chocolate it is which before she eats one. She likes to be surprised.

Trix Headcanon of the day #44

Anxiety! Yay!

This mostly about what the primary source of anxiety is for the trix, and how they cope with it.

Icy: Most of Icy's anxiety comes from her having to be the mother to her sisters from a young age. She doesn't like to admit it, but she finds herself worrying about them a lot and feels it is her responsibility to make sure their plans succeed and worries she is bringing them down with her. Icy doesn't really have a coping strategy. If she is really frustrated she tends to lash out at others, including her sisters.

Darcy: Darcy feels a lot of anxiety. She is very aware of how people perceive her and also tends to overthink. She can also get pretty paranoid that people are making fun of her behind her back, so she holds herself to a high level of perfection, especially physical perfection. Her outfit and hair must be perfect before she dares to leave her dorm. Like Icy, she also tends to lash out at people if she gets overly stressed, however she is more likely to make snide comments and insult a person instead of yell at them. She also is a nail biter. That is mostly inspired by this scene from the season one finale because I always interpreted it as Darcy biting her nails when I was a child.

Stormy: For Stormy a lot of her anxiety comes from having to deal with undiagnosed ADHD for her whole life. She feels she has to prove herself to her sisters and worries when she falls short. She breaks things to help herself calm down and get her feelings out. Out of the three Stormy has the best coping strategies, or at least the potential to have the best coping strategy depending on what the target is

Hey let’s normalize loving incredibly flawed things cause we like them. I like Damien and Vexius, I like Believix, I like the wizards, I like Riven, I like the sci fi y2k vibes of season 1 and 2, I like the og franchise/gen 1, I like season 4’s concept, I like these french books I have summarizing the episodes from Bloom’s pov. I still like the og franchise. I’m not gonna be like some Winx fans and feel the need to rewrite the show or shit on 90% of the franchise, I actually like the og show and franchise unlike those guys, and I hope you guys like the show or characters or whatever genuinely instead of for nostalgia or clout too.

I get what you are saying, but I do have to disagree with you on the rewrites. People don't make rewrites of the show because they think the show is terrible, they do it because they love the show and want to make it their own. Rewrites are fun and allow the story to be explored in a different way.

In my opinion criticizing something is not the same as hating it. It is okay for people to want the thing they love to be better. It is okay for people to acknowledge that things have flaws. It doesn't mean they dislike the franchise.

Also Winx really isn't a big enough fandom to have people hating on it just to hate on it. I could totally be wrong, but I don't think anyone talks about Winx for clout. We talk about winx because we love it too, even if it looks different from how you love it.

Also I totally agree with you that Believix is underrated.

Though some of them I was not able to find, not even clips involving Darcy.

There will be four categories: Voices I love, voices I like, those I am neutral about, and those I dislike. These four categories will flow into each other with number rankings, and the reason there are four categories is to make it easier for me to organize my thoughts.

There will, of course, be multiple dubs with the same ranking (ie, 9/10) and these singular rankings will also be ordered from favourite to least favourite, top to bottom.

Loved Voices (8/10-10/10)

10/10: Polish dub—Is anyone surprised? No. But when I first watched this dub, the delivery in S1 ep 2 slapped me in the face. This is Darcy's voice, hands down. I especially love how she comes off as condescending to Bloom when she addresses her in S1 ep 8, during the argument after the Red Rose race.

10/10: Portuguese (Brazilian) dub—This was so close to beating the Polish dub for me. It fits her so well, and the voice acting is perfection. I love the voice they chose for her, and it's definitely a favourite.

10/10: Spanish (Castellian)—Practically perfect in every way, and holy fuck, it is so good. Low voice? Yes. Emotion? Yes. The voice actress gets the S1 ep 2 chuckle perfectly? Yes, yes, and yes.

Special Mention: Spanish (Catellian, S3 ep 5)—This dub is already perfect, but Darcy's voice in season three had such good delivery in this episode, and it fits her perfectly, too.

10/10: Turkish dub—The emotion in the voice is so good! It fits Darcy so well, and it was bringing a smile to my face. She sounds so sweet yet threatening. So, so amazing!

10/10: Italian dub—It fits her wonderfully, and the emotion in her voice, the times she chuckles evilly, and all situations are always so good. I adore this dub, and I need to watch it again now that I'm actually learning Italian.

9/10: German dub—She sounds both so threatening and sweet at the same time. Especially sweet in S1 ep 8 when she's talking to Riven. I swear that she sounds just internally flustered/excited, and this dub has a lot of emotion.

9/10: Ukrainian dub—The art of this dub shows in ep 9 when Darcy talks to Riven. There's a lot of emotion in her voice, and it fits her very well! Some other dubs just excel a bit more in consistency of quality.

9/10: English 4kids dub—Look, my brain cells heard the gravelly voice and were hooked. It's not as low as I remember it, but in the places it gets a bit lower than how it was in S1 EP 2 (ie, in S1 ep 8, later into the conversation with Riven), it is one of my favourites and shows emotions well.

9/10: Bulgarian dub—I don't know why, but I love it. It fits her quite a lot. I like how it's slightly gravely. It just hits hard and slays.

8/10: English Nickelodeon dub—yes, yes, I know it's Nick, but this is the voice that raised me. Can you tell I'm biased toward slightly gravelly voices for Darcy? I do think it truly fits.

8/10: Indonesian dub (S7 ep 24, 25, 26)—It fits her so well, omg, and I wish there were more lines given to Darcy. Perfection, just not a lot to go off of, as I only found S7.

8/10: Serbian (Latin) dub—THIS DUB YES! Especially in ep 2 of s1, it slayed so hard, just the voices above fit her a bit more in my opinion.

8/10: Croatian dub—In episode 2, I was in awe of how good it was, despite how her laugh threw me off quite a bit. Her voice seems to get higher in S1 ep 5 & 9, and would be better rated if not for that.

8/10: Norwegian dub—I could only find S1 ep 2 of the dub, but the voice is really good for Darcy. Not the type of voice I would typically imagine for her, but given the limited material I found, it definitely made an impression.

8/10: Korean dub—Does it fit her? Yes, definitely. The voice acting? Also, a total slay. I just prefer some of the other dubs.

8/10: Romanian dub—Her voice actress slayed so hard when Darcy introduced herself to Riven in ep 8, though her voice caught me off guard in ep 9. Not in a bad way, but I can definitely see myself getting used to this voice.

8/10: Arabic dub—in ep 2 it was very good, but with the other episodes, something was missing.

Liked Voices (5/10-7/10)

7/10: Slovenian dub (S1 ep 2 & 9)—It wasn't liked too much during episode 2, but in ep 9 the voice actress did so well! It would be in the loved voices if not for ep 2.

7/10: Hindi dub—Her voice is very good in this dub, but it doesn't fit her/hit as hard as some of the other ones. Very close to being loved, though.

7/10: Spanish dub (Latin)—It was very good, especially in episode 2, but it didn't hit as hard as others. Such as during episode 9 when she was talking to Riven.

7/10: Macedonian dub (S1 ep 3)—I only found one clip and voiceline (Darcy saying 'veritogo'), but regardless, the voice seems to fit her very well. Just the lack of material I found.

6/10: Albanian dub—I didn't like it much at first, but I think it fits her pretty well. Especially when she snaps at Stormy in S1 ep 9.

5/10: Dutch dub—I think it's quite good, and it does fit her. Like a lot of the other voices, the chuckle in S1 ep 2 was amazing.

5/10: Finish dub—Close to being neutral, but it does fit her better than some of the other voices. Quite like it.

Neutral Voices (3-10-4/10)

4/10: Thai dub (S1 ep 2 & 8)—Her voice in ep 2 was so good, but I don't know what happened with episode 8. It was perfect, and then something happened. The beauty of ep 2 and whatever happened in ep 8 merge to make this a neutral voice.

4/10: Portuguese (European) dub—Her voice in this dub is giving me quite a bit of whiplash. Sometimes I love it (ie, when she corners Bloom in ep 2), sometimes I don't (her first line), and a lot of the time I'm neutral about it.

4/10: English Cinelume dub—I used to adore this voice, but it has gone downhill over the years of watching this dub. I don't think it fits her greatly, but enough that it's not lower than 4/10.

4/10: Czech dub—I think the voice is okay, despite how it was higher-pitched. It would be a bit lower if not for how fitting and perfect the chuckle was in S2 ep 2.

4/10: Armenian dub (S3 ep 10)—It's pretty good despite being layered on top of another dub. I care about it a bit, but not much.

3/10: Shinhalese dub (The Mystery of the Abyss)—the laugh when the Trix showed up to attack Bloom and Sky sent shivers down my spine, that was PEAK, but Darcy's voice, I don't have much to say and no feelings on it.

3/10: Valencian dub—It's a cool and interesting voice for her, but in terms of delivery, it didn't show through as much.

3/10: Mongolian dub (S8 ep 22)—The small clip I found was okay, and if I could hear more of it, I think it would get a 4/10 rating.

3/10: French dub—not many thoughts, besides that it fits her an okay amount, and it's good enough that I don't dislike it.

3/10: Danish dub (S3 ep 1)—No thoughts, no fucks to give, but I don't hate it. Fully neutral about this voice.

3/10: Tamil dub—It was also quite a high voice for Darcy, but it fits a bit more than the Swedish dub, so here it is in neutral voices.

3/10: Russian dub—No fucks to give, and a bit lower than truly neutral. I don't think I like this voice for her much.

Disliked Voices (1/10-2/10)

2/10: Malay dub (S6 ep 3)—The voice on its own I like, but it truly sounds like it would fit Griffin or an older woman character than Darcy. It would fit Darcy if she were old. But now? No.

2/10: Swedish dub—The voice actress did such a good job, but the voice is so high for Darcy, I feel like. It reminds me a bit of the reboot voice for Darcy and doesn't fit her as much as others.

2/10: Greek dub (S1 ep 14)—I don't despise it, I just think that it doesn't fit her and that it doesn't convey much emotion whatsoever.

2/10: Azerbaijani dub (S1 ep 3 clip)—I only found one clip of the Trix, and the voice is one thread away from the bottom ranking. It's... interesting.

1/10: Vietnamese dub—Putting aside the dub being layered over the English dub, the voice doesn't fit Darcy at all. Her vibes? Tone? Nothing whatsoever. Nada. This dub threw Darcy's vibes into the void and chose a random voice.

This journey has felt more like a pilgrimage to show my love for this character and appease her after all the times I made her suffer. I now know suffering after hours of searching for dubs and going through them, and I will say that toward the end, this was torture.

So a couple weeks ago now Time Princess had some winx outfits. They had Stella's Magic winx, Flora's Harmonix, Bloom's Bloomix, and Icy. I have this app and have for a while so it was pretty exciting for me and then I proceeded to procrastinate posting about it for weeks, but it doesn't seem like anyone else posted about it so here we are. One thing time princess does with the outfits is the overall outfits have a name and each part of the outfit has a name and also a description, which usually has nothing to do with the outfit. However, for the winx outfits the description has to do with the character and it provides some ... interesting lore.

I mean, I always started this way. There seems to be this idea that Tecna is the smartest winx, when she's not, she's just good with technology. But Flora definitely is shown to be the most school smart, in the early seasons at least

I think it is interesting that they highlight healing, when that is something that was traditionally associated with Bloom. Also I could be wrong, but I think Tecna has more defense spells than Flora. Flora has plenty of attack spells

Does the destruction of nature bring her pain, or does she just hear the screams? I honestly don't remember if she ever said she felt the plants pain. I remember Diana saying she felt the pain of the forest, but I could be wrong

Did they ever call it herbology in the show, or just botany? Why the HP reference? Other than that no notes. Remember in season one when Flora was good with potions? To bad that got forgotten about.

Sure, why not. Some monsters were able to get free from her vines. Off the top of my head I can think of the army of darkness/decay monsters, but there could be more. Also as a side note: The army of darkness/decay is criminally underused in the series. I know that is they brought it back they would ruin it, but still.

I have this app and have for a while so it was pretty exciting for me and then I proceeded to procrastinate posting about it for weeks, but it doesn't seem like anyone else posted about it so here we are. One thing time princess does with the outfits is the overall outfits have a name and each part of the outfit has a name and also a description, which usually has nothing to do with the outfit. However, for the winx outfits the description has to do with the character and it provides some ... interesting lore. Bloom faired a bit better than Icy, but not as well as Stella.

I guess? I know it's been said Bloom's favorite color is red, but does anyone actually believe that. Then after all that they labeled this as pink clothing so idk

This one is interesting. We see in the early seasons Bloom shows her powers when angry, but there is also the idea that fairies get powers from positive emotions? Would anger be a positive emotion? The whole idea of where magic comes from and the fairy/witch difference is a mess in this show

Once again no idea where they got the first part from. I haven't watched season eight, but I have watched the Icy backstory. The last part is funny. I would not consider Icy Bloom's strongest rival. That would clearly go to Darkar or maybe Valtor.

Also by the way this was the only piece of Icy's outfit that I got. They made her outfit super hard to get. You had to spend money to get VIP points and I was just not doing that.

After she losing to the winx countless times, but still fighting them I think everyone would expect her to have more than a touch of naivety. Also she 100% guards Icy and Darcy too. One of my favorite Trix scenes is when they are going back to Lightrock at the end of season three and you see Icy hug Stormy.

Excuse me? Icy does not believe Darcy and Stormy are far inferior to her. I also don't consider her significantly more cruel than Darcy, and it is hard to compete with Stormy going back to ruin Musa's concert for most vengeful.

I don't know if Darcy and Stormy are always overshadowed by Icy, but the Trix do always steal the spotlight
