hi i am literally sending you all hearts
this can only end well
opportunities to come up with extra crazy things are welcome opportunities :)
I wasn't going to do this since I already did this but since Amelia sent me one, I might as well reblog this then. You can thank Amelia 8(
Not really "TMI", I guess, but do you enjoy being able to use magic? Or would you ever want to be a non-magical being?
“Eh—?”
The question had not been one she expected and she was genuinely surprised (though when really, she should have known she was going to be asked magic related things sooner or later).
“Do I enjoy being able to use magic huh..its a thought that never came to mind.” The witch started but not long before she paused, her hand raised to her head to tug on her bangs out of habit. “I guess the answer would be yes..? Or rather, I’ve always found magic quite enjoyable or simply amazing, especially when I was a child and avia showed me how to use magic.”
The witch let out a short laugh and continued before she would start to get lost in nostagia. “So yes, I do. As for the second question..well, I hope I don’t offend anyone with this but no, I don’t. I don’t think I ever would either. After all, I am magic. Magic is not only a part of me, but my life as well. And well..” Amara paused, her voice that started strong now grew soft. “…That would mean I wouldn’t be related to avia nor would I got to meet the wizard..Caim..Sieffre..Amelia..and the rest of Silver Town since I would no longer be ‘the witch’..now, would I? And frankly, I rather have anything but that.”
“Oh, goodness!” Amelia exclaimed upon Amara’s bow. “Have I not introduced you to Harrison yet?” She sighed in frustration and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Leaping lexicons, where are my manners? I tell you, Miss Witch, I’ve encountered so many people since coming to Silver Town that I’ve all but lost track of who has actually met my comrade, here. It’s tough pulling double-duty, introductions-wise. If his accent wasn’t so gosh-darned thick he could take care of all of this himself!” Amelia looked at the shovel with a tilt of her head and placed her hands on her hips.
“Well, have you anything to say to the nice young lady, Harrison? You’re awfully quiet.” And quiet it was for a few moments. Until Amelia became the one to cause a ruckus. “W-what?! Harrison, calm yourself!” She reached over to grab an apparently excited or panicked or euphoric or enraged or who-the-heck-knows Harrison, but given that he was strapped to the back of her coat she just ended up spinning around a few times before giving up the chase. “Harrison, what are you talking about? You aren’t making any sense! C-calm down this instant! You’re making yourself look like an utter fool!” Finally, Amelia managed to grab hold of the… unruly(?) object who… settled down? Maybe?
“What on earth has gotten into you? ……Oh, you ‘forgot yourself’, did you? Fine time to be doing that, I must say!” The scholar turned back to Amara. “I apologize for that. Usually he just spouts insults.”
At Amelia's reactions, the witch let out a small giggle and she placed her hand over her lips; this time managing to contain her mirth. "It's nothing you need to apologize about Amelia, really. Our introduction was quite unusual after all..." She replied, the memory of her first encounter with the archaeologist soon coming to mind. It was rather abrupt and surprising..at least, for the scholar anyways. Now that Amara recalled their meeting, she felt a twinge of guilt for shocking Amelia--she seemed rather rattled at the time. Though her little reminiscence brought one detail to her attention, her mouth parting to a slight 'o.'
Harrison had not been there during their encounter. (Or at least, not to her knowledge.) She was about to tell Amelia this fact--in hopes of making the archaeologist feel less bad about not introducing Harrison--however, it seemed to be that Harrison was being scolded by Amelia.
"A-Ah ah he doesn't need to Amelia, really..." The witch trailed off, her attempt to appease the archaeologist having failed as Amelia gave Harrison what seemed to be, "judging eyes". While it was unsettling quiet, Amara knew that this couldn't be good. After all, she had been on the receiving end of such stares before and she knew no one could possibly be fond of the perturbing feeling in their stomachs, shovel or not. The witch was about to say something to the archaeologist--possibly ask her not to be upset with the shovel--when suddenly, she started to yell.
"E-Eh??!" The witch jumped, alate even for a split second due to her shock. She wasn't exactly sure what was going on--something about Harrison being excited or the sort--and couldn't tell what to make of it when all she saw was a distressed Amelia chasing a shovel that supposedly wasn't calm..? It was the first time that Amara felt that she could relate to humans and their feelings about magic, for she was certainly befuddled, despite being a witch.
When Amelia apologized, it took a moment for her to react. "A-Ah its alright..just a bit in shock, that's all... ..?" She said in such an indistinct way, that it was hard to distinguish whether it was a statement or not.
Well, that was truly kind of her. There are a lot more things, I suppose, that actual interaction with human beings can teach you though! Not that I’m dissing your grandmother, though. There’s just…some things, that’s all.
I do, occasionally. I do like to eat out and get some fresh air. The inn doesn’t get all that much work so I don’t always need to be there. When it does though, I’m usually working for days! Sometimes without food or sleep. Nothing I can’t handle though.
Mm..she is. / smiles to herself but then after a moment it seems to falter, as if she remembered something that stated otherwise. ) ..Eh? / blinks. ) O-Oh yes that is true. / laughs sheepishly. ) Its fine, I understood what you meant. Besides, my grandmother is great but I don't think even her could teach me everything.
Ah I see then... I suppose that's to be expected since this town doesn't seem to be the busiest place. / nods to herself. )
Tamantha recollected herself and looked back at Amara. “Huh? Yeah… I guess… it was obvious…” She held her head in one hand in thought. It’s a wonder how she got here. How spaced out do you have to be to wonder into a forest? Still, she was a little grateful because she may have gotten lost in the town as well. It’s a good thing the witch was here.
The witch frowned slightly at her words, not because she got lost but because she was lost. She raised her head slightly to the sky, her eyes narrowed slightly as the sunlight faded away slowly. Not good, she thought, it's getting dark fast... The witch then marched forward until she passed Tamantha, her head inclined at Tamantha's direction. "Follow me, I'll take you back to town." She merely stated before she continued, her pace slow but steady.
( Hey guys, so mod c is back from her trip!
I'll reply to anyone who I owe replies to soon--in the meantime, feel free to send Amara any meme questions and / or tmi questions! lol shh who cares if it isn't tuesday anymore )
Ha ha, it’s alright. There’s nothing wrong with learning something new. Well, at least you had someone to teach you what you needed to know. Hmm… By the norm, I mean… Hm… It’s kinda hard to explain I guess.
You are most welcome~. *leads her out of the forest* You don’t leave the forest often, right?
/ laughs softly. ) That is true..~ Mm, she taught me everything I know. / nods slowly, seems to be in thought. ) But ah, I'm slowly learning more things now thanks to you and the others. / smiles. )
Ah no..not really h-haha ;; / sheepish grin; scratches her cheek. ) Do you leave the inn often..? / tilts head at. )
“Oh. Okay.” Tamantha smiled, relieved.
Tamantha followed her gaze, confused. She opened her mouth to speak but didn’t. “A-alright.. I understand.” Lots of places are dangerous. No where is safe, is what Tamantha is always told, but Amara said this in an odd way. It meant something different. She looked up at her apology. “I-it’s okay! I try to get home before sundown anyway. I’m, uh,” Nope, nope she won’t say she’s afraid of the dark. “I’d get lost in the dark out here anywashit-” SHE’S LOST AND THAT WAS WHY SHE STARTED TALKING TO A WITCH who is incredibly cute where’d she get her clothes out here.
It wasn't surprising that she was puzzled and she felt a twinge of guilt for confusing her. However she was worried more about her odd reactions than anything. "I see then..." Amara replied, wondering if she should leave or not. While Tamantha herself had said she usually went home before sundown, her nervousness was clear to anyone. Ah could it be... "Tamantha you're lost..?" she said, rather than stated as she observed the other.
“Of course!” Amelia beamed. “And don’t worry about Harrison saying anything, either. He might be a cheeky fellow sometimes, but he would never betray someone’s trust.”
Now, whether Harrison would spill someone’s secrets these days was more a question of his physical ability to do so. Lacking a mouth, even if he wanted to let the cat out of the bag it would be impossible for him.
Of course, he was still a shovel of honor, so even with a mouth he would ensure that it would stay shut on these matters. Unless they involved Amelia, that is. Then, her every embarrassment would be as good as front page news.
She returned the smile though her next words caught her off guard. She blinked and stared at Amelia, befuddled. "Harrison..?" The witch repeated as she tried to make sense of what the archaeologist was saying. It wasn't until her gaze met the shovel in her arms that comprehension dawned on her. Was this perhaps who Amelia was talking about? She stared at the shovel and repeated Amelia's words in her mind.
"Pffbt--" She turned away and placed her hand over her mouth to stop the escaping laughs. However it proved to be difficult, as one glance at Amelia's shovel--or rather, Harrison--made her lose control. While she felt bad for getting into a fit of laughter (since it was rather rude), she couldn't help herself. After all, the shovel--no, Harrison--had no mouth so she couldn't understand why Amelia would think Harrison would do such a thing.
Once her laughter died, she wiped her tears and grinned sheepishly. "A-Ah sorry, I just found it funny that you said that when he doesn't have a mouth..." She trailed off, her eyes now on Harrison. "It's nice to meet you Harrison. I hope I can entrust my secret with you and Amelia then." The witch said with a slight smile, giving the two (well mainly Harrison) a short bow. While it was indeed questionable that the shovel could talk or not, she believed in Amelia's words since she didn't see why the archaeologist would lie or joke about something like this. Besides, Amara herself was a magical being so she wouldn't be surprised if Harrison turned out to be able to speak after all.
\is walking through the forest, writing down various things into a notebook\ Hm... I've only read about these flowers... \crouches down by a patch of flowers and begins to sketch one of them, oblivious to her watching him\
The witch had been tending to the flowers when she noticed a figure coming closer. She squinted her eyes and wondered who could the person possibly be—perhaps it was the wizard? Or maybe even Sieffre? A small smile crept onto her features at the thought of her close friend(s); she really needed to make more of an effort to stay in contact with them. Her lips parted slightly to say hello but immediately clammed shut upon closer inspection that it was a stranger wandering into her woods.
Ah ah—should I call out to them regardless or hide? She bit down on her lip, debating her options. While she knew she shouldn’t hide from others, she couldn’t help but still feel slightly distrustful of humans still. Fortunately, the witch didn’t had to choose as the person made himself busy and didn’t see her, despite being so near to him.
“Eh…?” She blinked and stared at the other in confusion; did he not notice her or was she simply less important than whatever he was doing? The witch’s lips thinned at the thought until she heard him mumble. Did he just say flowers..? She tilted her head and observed the male in front of her and after awhile, deemed him not dangerous. “Um..you know what kind of flowers they are..?” She asked, curious to know his answer. It wasn’t everyday she met someone who had a love for flowers like she did and anyone who did couldn't be all that bad now.
The Witchcraft of TVs
A long sigh escaped a certain dark-haired witch as she trudged her way through the empty streets.
Ever since she got to know the townspeople of Silver Town, the witch found herself willingly opening up to people.
And she wasn’t sure if she liked the fact she was.
She bit the bottom of her lip at the thought. It was quite troubling really. Although she had indeed promised her avia she would no longer elude herself from others, the witch still held some qualms about ‘letting people in.’ She clutched the hems of her skirt and frowned. Avia…
The thought of her deceased grandmother created a sharp pain in her heart and she couldn’t help but feel disheartened. She was still clueless as ever about her curse and she couldn’t help but wonder what was her grandmother’s intent. Amara let out a long sigh and was about to go home until quite suddenly, she heard a loud disturbance.
“What the..”
She turned and her eyes met a strange device. Somehow, it reflected some sort of scratchy image and emitted noise from it! Her eyes widened with great alarm, a box that made weird sounds and produced such a raucous image such as that was simply dangerous! Amara eyed the..thing cautiously and gulped. It would seem it was up to her to handle this hazard! She approached the thing with great heed (After all, for all she knew it could’ve been a monster in disguise!) when it abruptly started to attack! Scared, the witch fell back and cried out, “N-No..!!” As she did, she waved her hand in a circular motion and was about to cast the wretched creature on fire.
“A-ah, my apologies!” Amelia stumbled back when Amara’s face suddenly displayed a full spectrum of reds. “I didn’t mean to upset you, Miss Witch.” Though, for as apologetic as she was, a certain mischievous part of the archaeologist was half-tempted to poke at Amara again. The little witch seemed more like a little lamb to Amelia, and Goddess-knows how much Amelia loved cute fuzzy things.
Even though Harrison wasn’t with her at the moment, the scholar swore she could hear the shovel getting uppity about this whole situation. Something about “making people uncomfortable, as usual” and “learn how to interact, you socially-inept train-wreck”.
“I’m really sorry.” Amelia scratched the back of her head and cast her eyes to the side. “I just wanted you to know that in the future you can speak comfortably with me, that’s all. I would never tell a soul, I promise.”
"Its..I-Its alright..." She murmured as she brought up one arm to her face to hide her flustered state. While the witch knew Amelia had sincerely meant not to cause her any discomfort, she had a feeling that secretly, the archaeologist was enjoying messing with her. Amara let out another mumble (one that faintly sounded like an "hnngh") and had averted her gaze, ironically.
The witch didn't quite understand why people found it amusing to tease her, her reactions were quite normal after all. At least, she certainly felt like her reactions were ordinary. One day, she would have to ask what was so entertaining about her reactions. Though she had a feeling she wasn't quite going to get an answer.
Once Amelia apologized again, Amara slowly but surely, diverted her gaze upon her. "...You promise..?" She said, her cheeks still rosy from embarrassment.
Your avia? *tilts her head to the side* What’s that? Ah ha ha ha ha… I guess it is a good thing. It’s also a good thing that you turned out to be so different than the norm!
I guess… *Motions for her to follow, offering her arm* Then shall we, madam~?
Oh sorry, I forgot not everyone understands latin ;; But avia is my grandmother. / smiles fondly at the thought of her, though there seems to be a hint of sadness in her eyes. ) Ahahaha..that is true. / laughs. ) Though I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the norm...
..! / blinks at the arm gesture, slowly laughs and accepts her arm. ) Why, thank you ma'am ~
“Uh-” Tamantha blinked. “What’s wrong? Did I make you uncomfortable?” She brushed the hair out of her face. Tam felt awful. “Sorry, I’m just shy, I guess. Um, well it would be stupid to think you’d be alike.” She bit her lip. “I just thought I did something foolish just then, is why I was uneasy.” Geez, I should let it go.
"Ah..its nothing." The witch simply replied with a shake of her head. "No need to apologize..really, its okay." She said, a light smile on her lips as if to reassure Tamantha. Amara knew she had meant no harm but... ' But what? '
She didn't know. Amara gazed at the setting sun before speaking once more. "...It's getting late so I think it'll be best if you leave..the forest gets a little dangerous in the night after all." The witch gave her an apologetic look, though for more reasons than one. "Sorry."
More Harvest Moon: Hopeful Beginnings Headcanons
There's monsters in the game, mainly in the forest and in the mines (because why not, it'll make things more exciting. Silver Town needs some action anyways, like c'mon just imagine how great it would be ok. plus it'll activate events/heart events and develop character relationships and all that nice stuff).
However that does not mean you won't encounter monsters in town, you're just more likely to run into them in the forest or in the mines. Especially if it's dark.
The only safe place in the forest would be the witch's house or a certain part, deep in the woods where a lone yet grand Sacred Fig stands. MC can come across the tree either by a heart event with the witch or if the MC delves deep into the forest enough.
MC's weapon(s) is their farming equipment. They can upgrade it with ores at the blacksmith's and even enchant it.
In order to enchant weapons (or well, anything I guess), MC needs to have done a black heart event with the witch and/or wizard.
You can also buy items (like potions, magic infused items, etc.) from the witch or wizard. The wizard has the most peculiar inventory... (might not be in your best interest to buy from the wizard since mun imagines not all the things he sells is exactly safe.)
You can also buy stuff from Amelia, though some of the items may or may not be magical (mun likes to think that Amelia's picked up a few magical items without even knowing it).
Basically for any special/peculiar/maybe even rare items, you can most likely buy them from the witch, the wizard, and Amelia (hey they need some income ok. plus you can gain more heart points). That or you can obtain them by fighting monsters.
There's a dungeon under the church/Harvest Goddess Shrine. However it will not be discovered until MC develops enough heart points with Amelia (or something of the sort, I leave it up to Amelia's mun to decide).
MC's first meeting with the witch varies. If MC goes into the forest during the day, MC is the one that befriends the witch, who will be startled and asks the MC to leave. If MC goes into the forest during the night (or it becomes night while MC is in the forest or the MC doesn't leave even when the witch tells MC to leave) MC gets attacked by wolves (you know how Amara always say its dangerous to go into the forest at night? yeah, now you know why) and gets saved by the witch. The witch will then escort MC out of the forest and warn them to not go into the forest at night again.
The monsters are actually part of the curse inflicted by the Harvest Goddess. This will be found out later on in the game. (you asked for a more exciting game plot, i give. though i have no idea what else to do with it since we never really did anything. perhaps the curse is actually the secret plot in the game? idk.)
Amara's Character Development/Headcanons
Amara used to stutter a lot. She only stutters every now and then, mainly when she's nervous or embarrassed.
She's grown to love Silver Town and its townspeople. Most of them anyways.
Currently, she's closest to (or so mun likes to think) Sieffre, followed by our lovely ladies Amelia and Kai. However since people she tends to get close to leaves her, she doesn't know if she wants to get any closer to them than she already is.
The wizard is by default Amara's best friend for life.
Another year has gone by and Amara is not any closer to breaking or figuring the curse left on her by avia.
The only person that know of her curse is the wizard (again, this is what the mun likes to think). Though technically three people did, however both left the group.
Flower-eating ship is the most unexpected ship yet it has become mun's forever otp. They're practically canon okay.
Amara doesn't have a birthday this year since her birthday is on a leap day (wow how did mun forget about that).
Technically, technically, she's 6 years old, making her the youngest in Silver Town.
______________________________________________________________
There is no Witch Princess in Harvest Moon: Hopeful Beginnings. However there is a witch (unless Amara gets upgraded to Witch Princess lol).
In Harvest Moon: Hopeful Beginnings the witch and the Goddess doesn't have a rivalry they usually share in the Harvest Moon games.
In Harvest Moon: Hopeful Beginnings, the forest is not open to go into until a year has passed, where you get to meet the witch.
The chances of the witch running away in your first meeting is 3 out of 4. Though you will gain heart points regardless if she does.
Since Amara is the obligatory special bachelorette in Harvest Moon: Hopeful Beginnings, her heart events will be random.
MC can marry Amara if they meet the requirements (which is the marriage requirements in Harvest Moon: Hopeful Beginnings and a few other stuff). However Amara's curse will still remain unbroken.
MC's rival in Harvest Moon: Hopeful Beginnings is Caim.
