Near Death Experiences Explained
http://bit.ly/qUGEmW Peace of Mind: Near-Death Experiences Now Found to Have Scientific Explanations (I thought we already knew this?)
Episode 9 - Paranormal (eeeek!)!
We explain the unexplained, but not the unexplainable. Or maybe it’s the other way around.
Episode 8 - Interview with Jed
We interviewed our friend and community organizer, Jed. We talk about his work within the community and beliefs, which can be described as “post-gnostic”. Sit back and learn something new today!
Know Your Fallacies, continued
So many fallacies, so little time. Actually, about 45 minutes. You need to learn more about logical fallacies, and we’re here to help. Well, Pete is. I’m here to look pretty.
Proofs for Atheism, Gorillas, Maneschewitz
We discuss the complexities of proving something a negative. ****SPOILERS**** It can’t be done.
Then we talk about everything else that exists in the universe. Literally.
Prophesies and Predictions
Remember Y2K? Me neither. In this episode we talk (and talk and talk) about failed prophesies and other charlatanry.
Here are links mentioned in the podcast, as promised:

Postscript: I was WRONG about the lifecycle of our Sun. I was somewhat correct in stating that it’s halfway through its life, but in fact it is approximately 5 BILLION years old, and in another 5 billion years, it’s going to transition into a red giant.
Finally, this is the video comparing praying to god with praying to a milk jug. Enjoy!
Mythology and lots of other stuffs
Hey kids! In this episode Pete & Melissa talk about Mythology, its purpose in our lives, and then we go off on 1,235,366 tangents. It’s a bit…rambley – but fun and worth it! Stick around to the end. It’s a surprise ending with a twist you would never expect.
***SPOILERS*** There’s really no twist. Just listen.
The Search for...Spock?
Not sure why that’s the title of this episode, it just is. And you’ll like it!
In this episode, we laugh at homeopathy – and why is Dr. Oz shelling out advice on homeopathic remedies? There is hope, however. In response to the backlash, Doc Oz had Dr. Steven Novella, a clinical neurologist and noted skeptic, on his show. You can find the excerpt of this episode along with Dr. Novella’s thoughts here. We also mention our favorite skeptic, James Randi. Love him!
We talked briefly about an incident with Bill Nye giving a talk in Texas where he was heckled. Please note, this event happened in 2006 and is still being talked about today! It’s difficult to find the original news article about it, but here’s a link that sums up the story.
The main topic was Philosophy. Put on your big people pants, kids. It’s time to let the grownups talk. Or something. Think you know how to argue? Try learnin’ up some fallacies first.
A New Crazy
We haven’t forgotten you! In this episode we discuss the Sam Harris vs. William Lane Craig debate at the University of Notre Dame. You can find the video (in 9 parts) here. Unfortunately, the audio version I mentioned during the podcast is no longer available. Also interesting is an account of the debate by Sam Harris himself.
We also discuss the definition of atheism and what it is…and isn’t. We go on a bit, so enjoy our fun rambling rant! Also, please note that Melissa was on heavy doses of Sudafed™ during this podcast, which might explain a few things…
