THIS IS URGENT, PLEASE HELP
My cat Jojo been having a tough time lately, heâs been limping and he mood has gotten worse and worse and his pain more and more severe as he growls and hisses when he even moves himself. I took him to the vet today, assuming the worse that could happen is that he broke a bone being a rowdy boy that he is and it healed wrong right? Boy was I so wrong because it turns out he has a bone eating disease. Which isnât common by any means, and SPECIFICALLY only occurs in young male cats who have been neutered and its not genetic at all, pretty fucked up that my cat pulled the short end of the stick on this one am I right?Â
So my options are this, Pull $2300 dollars out my big olâ tuckus, which will removed the bone his body is eating, leaving it to scar over and act as a new functioning place holder for his leg, leaving him able to walk and generally fine. Or his bone deteriorates, causing him great pain, and eventually losing use of his leg, which the strain on his body will at a high risk have him develop arthritis which will only cause him more pain. As of right now I have him on painkillers, and without the surgery he can he on them long term, big problem with that is itâs about $60 for only a weeks worth of medication which he needs just to be comfortable through the day.Â
In the long run the surgery is cheaper and heâll have a better quality of life overall, but the surgery has a big time limit. Its pretty much useless once the bone is completely gone, and we donât know how fast the disease will finish the rest of the bone, so the sooner the better. Based on the x-rays, 2 months is probably the longest he can go before its probably too late. So Iâm sitting here writing this, crying because my sweet son who means the whole world to me is in pain and I canât stop it or help him outside of getting him the care he needs, at a cost I canât imagine paying. Iâm not asking for a miracle, Iâm not expecting my whole bill to be paid no questions asked, but I am begging for any help at all to help lessen the fee at all.Â
TLDR: my cat needs this surgery in order for him to keep his leg and not live in terrible pain every single day. the surgery will be cheaper in the long run but we have only 2 months at the most before it is useless.

This is Jojo, and heâs literally my world. I got him when I was in a really bad place, I have major depression, and it was so bad. Getting him has brought me so much comfort and so much support, I canât imagine my life without him. I canât imagine a life where heâs in constant pain. Heâs only 2 years old and I still donât understand why this had to happen to him.
My Vet finally called me back with his radiologist results and the news was not good. He confirmed the disease in the leg we were originally looking at, but he also noticed fractures forming on his other leg, which means his body has begun to deteriorate his other limb now.

 I had asked my vet if the price of the surgery would be the same, hoping that both legs could be done in one in one fell swoop, but again Iâm not lucky. Theyâre going to have to be 2 separate surgeries, because his recovery for one legs will already be intense for him, let alone two.
So where does this leave me. It leaves me with 2 surgeries now to cover, meaning two times the price, bring it up to about $4400 minimum. Again any help would be so greatly appreciated, and if you canât help via donations than sharing this and getting the word out helps immensely as well.Â
