“Frost On A Window Pane” inspired by frost on the window panes of my studio on some winter mornings. The patterns frost creates is just incredible in the same way that snowflakes form is extraordinary which prompted me to produce a mixed media work of art depicting the house and garden reflected in the glass with a cobweb like network/veil of frost like tendrils on it’s surface. #oiloncanvass superimposed with a transparent layer of mat dark and grey #embroidery then a second transparent layer of shiny metallic embroidery embellished with a sprinkling of a few pearls. The last time I embroidered was when I was 12! So upsetting that we, the 5th wealthiest country in the world has a growing problem with in work poverty and homelessness. Even food banks (which came about about in 2011 during “austerity”) are struggling. This is the consequence of 12 years of this particular bunch of Conservatives. I see this woman regularly on our local high street in #molesey and decided to paint a portrait of her. I’m too late this year but I’m aiming to donate this to a homeless charity; The #bigissue or #crisisathristmas. My latest Watercolour: “Diana Fountain at Dusk, Bushy Park” more or less finished in time for the Molesey Art Society Autumn Fair: 22nd and 23rd October. The stone work of the fountain could still perhaps be a little darker around the edges so that it is properly silhouetted. Haven’t had the time to frame it, and framing is expensive so selling it loose.
