Meanwhile, my brother in law couldn’t sleep last night because he’s trans and is scared to death of what happens to him if Trump wins. Or even if he doesn’t.

Meanwhile my sister had a panic attack at 8am because she’s afraid her marriage will be invalidated and wonders if her husband will be safe.

Meanwhile the local Wal-Mart pulled ammo and guns off its shelves. The downtown of my city is boarded up. The local hospital is sending people (Covid patients!) to other locations because they need to be prepared for protests. With bloodshed.

Meanwhile my friend who has a young black son purchased groceries for three weeks so she doesn’t have to leave her house.

This isn’t acting love. If Trump wins, he will continue to erode American democracy. His white supremacist supporters will feel emboldened. There will be marches. Protests. Potentially strikes. If he loses, (god willing) his supporters could still take to the streets, armed to the teeth. There could be violence.

We’re not acting. We’re divided. We’re shattered, really. I pray for peace. I also prepare for the worst. I have hope, but not faith. So. Hope YOU have a good day at work.

in case you’re interested in learning more about it, there’s actually a term coined to describe france’s neocolonial agenda in african countries so if you look up “françafrique” you’ll get a clearer picture of the french geopolitical agenda and the tight grip they are keeping in africa. imperialism is still thriving and there are other players outside of the usa that are using the global south as a chessboard and shredding it to pieces through military and economic interventions backed by national industries (although i will say that the english wikipedia page is one massive propaganda ploy undermining french influence on african soil and the motivations behind it)
