7th of Frostfall
We traveled back to Whiterun to swap out supplies at Illarina’s house. Despite caution that Lydia was rather blunt, I was not ready for Lydia’s stinging lines as she greeted Illarina. The woman only had suspicious eyes for me.
I’ll be ready with a proper riposte next time she says something about being honored to see Illarina again.
5th of Frostfall
We were separated for a little while as we climbed paths through cliffsides. I had taken what I thought was the shorter route, as I hoped to be relaxing with a sweet roll in hand & a good line about being fast when Illarina caught up. We were both quite surprised when I rounded a boulder & nearly knocked her right into the canyon below.
I actually would have felt bad about that.

In my defense, I did not grab her tail on purpose. Either way, she was not happy.
3rd of Frostfall
We were cutting through some northern passes with an ugly blizzard when Illarina mentioned she felt a little homesick. I attempted to cheer her up with some dancing.
I don’t know why it didn’t work.
2nd of Frostfall
After slogging our way to the Pride of Tel Vos, which involved Illarina wrinkling her nose at crossing so much water by foot, Illarina cracked a bandit with an arrow so hard he went flying like he’d been hit by a giant. I stared at her in amazement, but she just shrugged. “He had somewhere important to be,” she said, & examined the drying fish.
& here I had all my lightning spells ready.
30th of Hearthfire
We were tramping uphill toward a fortress when we stumbled upon a headless horse twitching in a spike rest. The worst part of it was the lack of blood.
I blame necromancers.
28th of Heartfire
After just narrowly making our way through the Forelhost Crypts, we emerged into Skyrim wilderness once more. As we descended through the brush, I made a careless comment about how bandits were desperate people who would attack no matter what the odds.
We spent the next hour sneaking up on an empty canyon because my statement left Illarina paranoid.
I received a stern look for my “deceit,” for which I had no excuse.
I’d do it again.

We turned back temporarily because of a flooded chamber?
Forelhost Crypt has been fascinating so far. I took pains to assure Illarina that I would be right behind her.
I did not add that I would have all my lightning spells ready for the undead at the other end.

I asked Illarina if the fact the she was Dragonborn should have been mentioned upon her hiring me. She replied that she didn’t want me to get bored by knowing everything in advance.
I will certainly not be bored here.

After Illarina decided to climb down a cliff, I chose to take a simpler, longer route. Imagine my surprise when I discovered her fighting a dragon. & two cave bears. Who were also fighting two trolls.
Maybe I wouldn’t have led those two sabre cats down into the fray if I knew quite was I was heading into.
A deer & a rabbit also lost their lives as well, bringing our count to nine.
Imagine my additional surprise when Illarina ABSORBED THE SOUL OF THE DRAGON.
HOW WAS I ... I need to lay down a moment.

Illarina’s willingness to play the sacrifice disturbs me, but Illia, Illarina’s Atronach (which I distrust), & I were a quite effective team against the old hag. We took her down with minimal damage.
If we could travel as the three of us (atronach excluded), we’d be pretty formidable. As it is, I guess there is room for only one mage here.

We’ve teamed up with another mage, Illia. She is not nearly as good as me, of course. But her ice spells do beg some study. I watched Illarina & Illia cut down a hagraven as tho it were a wheel of cheese.

Illarina & I arrived in Largashbur with the warhammer...that I carried...
But even tho we placated their god, most of the orcs in the village were already slain. When I asked Illarina about it, she replied that giants had attacked here, too.
Malacath stated that one of the orcs was to be the leader, but Atub is the only one who remains.
This is a lonely village.

After both of us being beaten back spectacularly by a simple giant, we managed to quell the beast, even if we did not save Yamarz from his fate. He didn’t seem very interesting anyway.
Tho I had to lug that warhammer across half of Skyrim...
Mammoth cheese is surprisingly delicious. Illarina & I seem to disagree on this point.

I just knew that old Khajiit would come back.
She introduced herself as Illarina Q’at & said she was trying to catch up to an Orc warrior who had asked for her protection & then run into the wilderness. I reassured her that I would never run off without her, which seemed to amuse her greatly.
We’re going to be unstoppable together, I can feel it.
