Went to the grocery store with my kindergartener. We weighed some bananas: 2 pounds even. We weighed a watermelon: 4 pounds even. We weighed some mangos: a little over 1 pound. We weighed the watermelon AND the bananas: 6 pounds even.

“That’s funny” said the child “because 2+4=6 and two pounds and four pounds is six pounds. It’s like the same as math!”

I’m going to be going back to school. To get another degree. But getting around on campus is going to require a lot of energy I may not have. I want to ask my doctor about a wheelchair, but I have no idea how. She is often of the view that you shouldn’t use your disability as an excuse. Like I get it, but also. Using all of my energy to cross campus is not my exact idea of beneficial to my education. Or life in general.

I have had an aspen vista neck collar for a decent amount of time now and just never used it. After dealing with neck pain and fatigue today I decided to try it back on just to give my muscles a break. Is this what heads are supposed to feel like? Stable? I am so used to a head down posture that neutral feels like I am looking upwards. The effect of hEDS is truly bonkers sometimes. I never realize how unstable I am until I use something to stabilize it.
