The first bit of the piece “See you Tomorrow” from How to Train your Dragon, played on the piano.
This one’s really too difficult for me, but here’s an attempt at the start: first minute or so.
Now back to working on the rest.

First flights of the season, floating around some hills in Wales.
This years trip to Northern England to go gliding. I needed a soundtrack for all the flying in the hills and in amongst the clouds and what better to choose than bits and pieces from httyd. Just what you need for flying. Never recorded myself flying for long periods before, so this is my first attempt to actually edit a video of flying - see what you think. Videos never really do the experience of flying justice, but it reminds me of the holiday watching it, maybe someone else will enjoy it as well.
I’ll hopefully make it Scotland at the beginning of next year, so I might even get some footage of flying over the islands, cliffs and seas.
Like I said, first time recording myself flying and I’ve discovered I pull faces when I’m concentrating: like when the rocks are getting near and the rain is starting. So, apologies for all the dorky faces, but I hope you enjoy.
There’s no substitute for flying, and it feels far more in touch with nature when you don’t have an engine, nothing but the air currents to keep you airborne. It’s something everyone should try!
ahah, the gliding season is back, so here I am reminding myself of the highlights from last year.
Went walking in Scotland with my sisters last weekend. Pictures from around the Cairngorns: a bit of mountains and a bit of forests.
The weather was great and not a midge in sight!
“Lady Tilda and the Dragon”
Or “Mom Knight” which is what I kept calling it for most of the time I worked on this. This was my story for Valor, a fairy tale anthology I was in last year! It’s a really great book, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. You can purchase a copy here.

So, I continue my way through the soundtrack: “For the Dancing and The Dreaming” this time. For everyone else who hasn’t got a date for Valentines….
Every time I post one of these I seem to have downgraded instrument, no access to a proper instrument this time, so my little digital piano will have to do :).
As usual couldn’t quite keep it going smoothly to the end - one day…….
So I finally finished watching race to the edge: an age after everyone, as usual with most things I do. It’s odd, I really enjoyed it as tv show, great animation and story telling...... yet still I found myself wishing they had a string of episodes with just Hiccup and Toothless.
Just have them trapped on an island on their own having to survive ... that I’d watch a whole series of on its own.
I’m trying to figure out what to play next, any suggestions?
Lego dragons lost at sea :)
@thegraspe that’s true :) I had to draw this, haha (and used it to experiment a little more with less lineart and more color).
@axonmanage ah cool! I like it.
Suddenly made me think of this:
Forbidden Friendship from httyd on the piano
Here’s to all friendships in the year to come!
‘Forbidden Friendship’ from httyd. A fantastic bit of music, from a fantastic scene in a fantastic film, what more is there to say: apart from the fact I don’t really do it justice.
I’ve been practicing this for a while on and off, but as I’m visiting my parents for the New Year, I thought I’d take advantage of a nice piano again, and I wanted to post it before the New Year (just made it)… so here it is: complete with the occasional fluffed bit.
I’ll probably upload a better version once I have a chance to polish it a bit further.
Found the sheet music here: http://sheethost.com/sheet/cgAv21

Was rewatching this video I made in the summer. I’m getting mopey about not having been flying for ages. All the wet weather seems to be coinciding with weekends at the moment.
