As a Film Nerd ™, I do often feel the urge to throw certain titles at people, though not to scoff at and diminish their taste. It's usually the excitement of "oh you like y, you could probably really appreciate x" because I love, LOVE investigating the DNA of the art I hold dear.

Sometimes though I admit there are instances where people are going nuts for something and I'm just like "... sigh, y is just a watered down version of x, for babies. I'm begging you to watch x, just try it..."

Anyway yes the cave allegory shit is hilarious, usually for the wrong reasons.
