Thinking about a princess tutu au where when the story ends drosselmeyer is like well that went badly! Time to wipe all of your memories and try it again!!

So they all go back to the beginning of the story but since Duck hasn’t been in the story as long as the rest of them the memory wipe doesn’t work on her so she (and dross) remember everything that happened in the show. And so the story follows Duck trying to regain the trust of the other three while Drosselmeyer specifically targets them to Make Them Worse.

Something about the isolation Duck feels as her best friends in the world no longer remember her. She feels them slipping away as drosselmeyer exacerbates their worst traits and feeds their paranoia. Something about Duck knowing how good and kind each of her friends can be and using that love for them to bring them back to themselves despite all the hardship they face at the hands of the story. I think no matter what drosselmeyer threw at her in the end she could do it. There’s no world in which Duck’s overwhelming hope doesn’t win
