Turning this guy into stickers for my next market
Happy Pride, bite a transphobe today 💙
I want to go home.
As much I as enjoy connecting with others on the internet. As much as I enjoy the past times of music and video games.
I want to go home.
I want to shed everything and disappear into the trees.
I want to find an old abandoned cave and claim it. Piss at the entrance and mark it as mine.
I want to stalk prey nearby, catch and kill it. Drag the corpse back to my den to clean and eat.
I want to swim in the rivers. Let the flowing water wash me clean as I play with the fish.
I want to create trodden paths in what will become my own little territory. An outline marking where every so often, I'll piss on a tree or bush so my scent carries and marks the circle in a scent other animals will come to know. They'll know that's my home.
I want to become a part of the system there. Part of nature. Never overstepping, blending into the background so that if a hiker spotted me, they'll know it's just another wild animal. Don't get too close, don't turn your back, don't make any sudden movement or loud noises. And I'd watch them curiously until I wander back off into the trees.
I want to climb mountains and see views the birds can see. I want to howl into the wind and hope to hear a howl back.
I just want to go home.
as close as I can get
I'm not a therian but pls reblog or something if youre an adult therian. I need to find more nonhuman blogs, a lot of people on here who identify as animals are children.

shoutout to the Argentinian alterhumans for getting an AP News article
#don't know about this one article but the local news were treating them kinda like shit#like they were ridiculed for A WHILE#by the news social media and just people in general#it wasnt a good time#now people've forgotten about it cause theres bigger problems
this article doesn't feel actively disrespectful to me, but it's also pretty standard "normies first encounter with non-human identities" fare. i don't really like how they say one person "claim to" identify as a Belgian Malois (its not wrong but its weird to emphasize "they claim to" instead of just saying that is their identity. like, yeah, the only person who can decide if they identify that way is them, so... ?)
they also include an interview with a psychologist to answer the question of "Should parents be worried?" which is annoying and unnecessary pathologization, but she doesn't make a big deal out of it, so it could be worse. the video attached to the article actually includes a mother of a therian who seems very supportive, which is lovely. but then its like, i think instead of getting a quote from a psychologist, it would've been better to just include quotes from supportive parents and therians themselves to assuage any fears that being an alterhuman is in some way unhealthy or bad.
what's amusing/annoying to me is just how they don't contextualize any of this at all. therian/otherkin/alterhuman identity has been around in the modern context since afaik the 90s/2000s. i was having my first encounters with it in the 2010s. if more people in LatAm have been getting involved in it then that's cool! but they just have a few brief quotes from the therians themselves, which doesn't really allow people to understand the community's perspective and the nuances and variations across people's identities, and portray very vaguely as some strange recent internet trend. which, again, not really surprising.
I DO really like their face masks tho!
& ultimately its cool & good to see alterhumans in non-anglophone places and alterhumans connecting with others, regardless of how the media portrays them. i'm not really giving AP News any credit; i'm glad the therians themselves are existing publicly and forming community.
Minor correction: The otherkin community, as we know it, can be traced back to the late 60s/early 70s
Though the word 'otherkin' wasn't coined until 1990 :)
The therian community, however, can be traced back to 1993
And the dragon community to circa 1995 (though it probably formed around the same time as the therian community)
The unicorn community also appeared independently of the otherkin, therian, and draconic communities. Twice, actually, within days of each other
And though there is some debate, 2001 is largely considered the birth of the modern fictionkin community (I disagree, since the Elf Queen's Daughters, back in the 70s, consisted of Tolkien elves and hobbits, but that's neither here nor there)
Anyway, the point stands: We've been here longer than most of the journalists reporting on us have probably been alive.

It’s very hard relating to humans as a wolf.
I shake your hand and smile at you, engage in small conversation, I do everything like a formula day in day out. But it feels like such a charade, useless gestures to maintain social stability.
Truthfully, I don’t wish to speak to you or ask you about your day. I want to run, keep running until I’m far from civilization. I want to sink my teeth into prey. I want to charge headfirst into the forest without worrying about branches getting in my way at a bipedal height.
When I shake your hand, ensuring a sturdy grip for your approval and stare at your face so you think I’m engaged, I hate it. And I hate you too.
hey!! is anyone going to be at AnthrOhio this year? i'm buying the full weekend pass and my brother might go on Friday with me, but i'll definitely be alone Saturday and Sunday and would love to say hello to others!! and i'm hoping to go dancing or something!!! i want to have FUN!!
i'm going to be at the "therian, alterhuman, otherkin mixer" at 6pm on Saturday for sure, as well as various other panels throughout the day Saturday. Sundays at conventions are my typical "become the wallpaper" day, so i can just... watch. i like to just watch sometimes, without having to contribute too much. you can sit with me to rest! i have snacks!!!
so hey, well, if you want, let me know, say hi or something ~
my first big event since "awakening!" cant wait to meet others like me, with a new understanding of what that means :^)
SAY HI IF YOU WANT!!!
forest walk
As a kid, I used to keep bones from dinner…usually chicken bones. I’d take them to my room and gnaw on them, not really thinking about why, just following an instinct that felt completely natural to me. When I was done, I’d hide them under my pillow.
I think we should normalize talking about these kinds of experiences that felt undeniably right to us, no matter how “odd” they may seem. Especially within the therian community, sharing these memories helps us understand ourselves and each other better.
What are some things you did (or still do) that made you realize you were different?
i started requesting "steak with the bone" as a 9/10 year old when we would go out to eat/when it was a special occasion, and then would gnaw on the bone after eating the meat straight off of it.
usually my mom would insist on a fork but sometimes i would eat with my hands. that continued until at least adulthood when i learned to feel shame in how inhuman i behaved
maybe this week i will get a steak with the bone to gnaw on for a little treat ☺️
Subtle gear for nonhumans
A lot of gear suggestions aren't conducive with workplace or school dress codes, might be unsafe for some, or just aren't everyone's style. Here’s some ideas for understated nonhuman expression that's not just "wear a graphic print".
If this post inspires you to buy anything, please shop secondhand where you can!
CLOTHING
Fabric choices - Animal print or fur isn't the only option! Focus on which textures you associate with your ‘types. Maybe you like heavier fabrics like wool or leather, wrapping you in a protective layer. Maybe you enjoy the lightweight feel of silks and linen that flutter in the wind. Maybe the structure of sturdy denim feels like a chassis. What feels right against your skin?
Cut - This refers to the shape or style of a garment. What silhouettes read as your ‘types? Maybe you want to add bulk via a boxy blazer with shoulder pads. Maybe sleek, straight cut trousers or a pencil skirt is more you. Look up cuts of jeans if you're new to this and want to start somewhere!
Socks - Maybe they're full on novelty socks, maybe they've got hoof prints on the underside. Fun and subtle!
Shoes - Big platforms or steel toe boots might remind you of hooves, or running shoes can keep you nimble and quiet on your toes. From an aesthetic standpoint, pay attention to the colour and textures. Maybe a brown suede reminds you of your paws, maybe metal hardware reminds you of your shell.
ACCESSORIES
Watches - These could be subtle, with just a strap colour your associate with your ‘type, or a full on statement piece that looks like alien technology. I picked mine because it reminds me of a cat collar.
Cat collar bracelets - Speaking of, these just look like leather bracelets and are a hell of a lot subtler than wearing a dog collar!
Glasses frames - Does the shape of your frames feel insectoid? Round and owl like? Qquare and boxy? How do they transform the shape of your face? Of course, a relevant colour or pattern is also an option!
Pins & Brooches - These could be colourful enamel pins or small simple vintage brooches. Wear them on your clothes or bags.
Belts - This can be a great place to introduce heavier textures like reptile skin or suede, or you can go the opposite direction and use fabric or rope. A statement buckle can be a fun addition if you want to get a bit flashier!
TL;DR Thinks about these two things: what feels right in a sensory way (good textures, lines up with phantom shifts) and what looks right to you (colours, patterns, how fabric sits on your body).
