RIP Dan Simmons, one of the modern greats of horror and science fiction
RIP Dan Simmons (April 4, 1948 – February 21, 2026). Author of my favourite ever science fiction book series, the Hyperion Cantos.

Star Wars Generations
"I have been an avid reader and an admirer of your magazine for over a year. I enjoyed seeing the "before screen" scenes of Star Wars that you published.
"I am 24 years old and have a son, Tyler, who is 4. I remember, as have many, going to see the original Star Wars with my father. I was proud to have been able to take Tyler to see the new Star Wars and to fully appreciate the excitement of the movie and Tyler's reactions. Star Wars is one of the great classics and Tyler and I appreciate your keeping it alive.
"I have enclosed a few pictures of Tyler and myself along with our Star Wars memorabilia.
"Keep up the good work."
Sincerely,
Jason & Tyler Meudt
