I don't know about you, I'm feeling.. well you know the rest.
It took me years to finally be able to come back here on tumblr to give it another go and here I am, 32 years young and have ventured out "successfully" in other things.
So, here we go.
Writing - Entering 2020 and 2021 meant opening a chapter of my life I once left to pursue other things. I went back to writing songs in 2020 and 2021 and I want this year to be the year I branch out and develop more storylines, whether it be for a song or a short story. I am also writing this blog right now, that's a first.
ListeningĀ - Pause - IAMDDB.
I found this amazing playlist on Spotify called "Blue Lights - Jorja Smith" which also happens to be a song, and it's by a person named Harrison Skelton. It contains songs that have the same, lush, chill, jazzy, hip-hoppy vibe.
Thinking -Ā When are we going back to work? The last two days of 2021, I was away from work nursing a bad stomach flu. After changing my phone, I forgot to save all the numbers. Do people know when we supposed to go back to work? Am I ready to go back to work though?
Smelling - Mum gifted me a bunch of Scentsy Candle Melts for Christmas. I can melt my chosen scented wax any damn day.Ā
Wishing - for a safer 2022! Just found out that a workmate is Covid Positive and contracted this around christmas time. :(
HopingĀ -to have more meaningful content across all social media platforms. I want to be more present, without ever compromising my wit, of course!
WearingĀ -an all white ensemble! To explain this, I envisioned myself wearing only whites for the first few days of the new year. Funny enough, our family party's theme is PATTERNS and your homegirl does not have anything patterny in the prestine white colour. So for the past two days, I've been wearing white.
Loving Ā -other than the Scentsy Candle melts, I also received a coffee maker which was one of my chosen items to receive in our yearly kris kringle! So I have been making non-instant coffee at home <3
WantingĀ - to start the business early this year. Follow #TheRazkalzPH to see more of our merch.
NeedingĀ - a massage!
Summer is here. I hate to say this but I am part of the
20% who dislike this freakin heat.
ClickingĀ Youtube has been occupying my time, specifically Bailey Sarian and art vlogs.
I am not in any way, shape or form a vlogger but in the middle of 2017, I started a vlog to save all my day-to-day memories somewhere without clogging my phone - and there it is now, a 2 year vlog.
My husband and I are planning to do a podcast too, if given the opportunity. So many creative opportunities to explore in this world and I cant wait to share this with all of you.
For now, let me share to you the stuff we did on good friday of 2019!
Adulting: The Frustrating Side of an Illustrator Business | Taglish
I claim to be one of the luckiest people in the world.
I am, really.Ā
I get to enjoy my life by being creative plus I have a full-time job that pays the rent. But combining these two are a lot for me to handle at times, and this is something I have embraced when I decided to pursue this business.
So when I opened my illustrator business 2 years ago, I sat myself down and mapped out what I really wanted to do and where my business would and should take me in 1-2 years time.
NRR officially started in 2017 during my annual leave when I was at home, broke and had nothing else to do. The business which started in my bedroom grew to be one of my most known achievements.
Everyone knew Iāve got the an artistic eye but I never really thought of doing something with it until someone from work told me sheād pay me if I painted a wooden panel for her and make it look like aĀ āgalaxyā (this piece is actually still with me because we have not decided what to do with the other components of the artwork).
From then I decided to practice everyday - mostly digital because I think this is my strongest ability. Pero sa kaka-hustle ko, I made it possible.
And so I hustled my way through it. Pinag aralan ko yung pricing depende sa kind of work and experience na meron ako, invoicing and other boring and non-artistic components relating to an arts business.
Until I came across a hurdle.
How do I approach a client who has not paid me yet?
Uh-oh. I am definitely in trouble.
Prior to opening my small business, I worked in Sales and in Retail so negotiations have been part of my life. I was also born in Manila and lived there for years and at such a young age, I learned toĀ ātawadā and compromise. So I thought to myself na maybe I am able to do this daunting task because I do have the experience to negotiate.Ā
Sa una, okay pa. You create things for them, they pay you back. It may have taken them sometime to pay but they come back to you naman with the payment and an apology. And dahil nature ko ang maging mabait, to me itās okay. Yan kasi ang recipe for longevity eh, to be kind - it also happens to be a recipe for disaster because the more you give them all the chances they could get, the longer you have to wait for an outcome.
Iāve had experiences where the due date is over 3 months, some even over a year and the account is still unpaid. Paano ko ba masosolusyonan ito?
The answer is create a contract between you and the client.
Bakit nga ba may ganito?
Pero napaka importante rin palang maging firm sa kliyente to let them know that you are a reliable person and able to do the job that is expected of you. So they have to reciprocate the respect back and pay ON TIME.
Maraming contract samples dyan, I wonāt share my own but there are heaps of samples online you can copy or modify to match your preference.
I learned all of this from Shaāan De Anthes/FurryLittlePeach (previously featured here). I couldnt find the video but in one of her Q&Aās, it was discussed that having a contract which outlines the job description is crucial to having an illustrator business.
So far, it has worked with the newer clients but I hope I could've done it before when I was starting out.Ā
I hope, in this short blog entry I have been able to provide answers to the question ofĀ āPaano Mo Pag Babayarin Ang Kliyente Mo?ā.
I canāt tell you enough how scared I am to start Inktober this year. Iāve never really joined any art-related challenges so this year I decided to give it a go and jump into this massive void.
I wouldnāt say I am there yet when it comes to reaching my Illustration goal because I am still nowhere near it and plus because we all know thereās Frannerd, FurryLittlePeach, SemiSkimmedMin, Leigh Ellexson, Jacqueline De Leon, Katnipp and Mel Stringer (these ladies are my absolute favourite) but Iād like to think of myself as someone who wants to lead a creative life moving forward.
And the beginning of being an illustrator is to jump right to it because when am I going to ever do anything if I dont jump head first right?
So the journey began with me following the official 2018 prompt, which by the way only lasted 2 days for me because on the third day, I illustrated a tribute to my grade school drum and lyre band master to commemorate his hard work.Ā
From then I realised I should be reflecting what I wanted to show, how my Illustration is really based on real life and wanted to depict that on paper -- the stories Iāve been meaning to tell for the longest time but never really had the guts to share as they are too personal. But I believe Inktober is the best challenge for me to show my life according to my point of view.
This is also the time for me to practice on Ink by itself and nothing else so I decided on using Ink and a pastel pink Stabilo Highlighter!
Is this your first time to do Inktober? Let me know how youāre going and letās start a discussion!
If you are curious, here's what I have done so far (Yes, I am many days late I am sorry):
1. Patintero
2. Music
3. Parents
4. Us
The stories behind each one can be found on my NuRiver Razkalz Instagram account!
Iād say Iām a little bit of a bullshit artist.
You see, I am all for being cool, calm and collected with my thrifted shirts and artsy lo-fi music. You may as well call me your typical millenial-esque Ate but at the age of 29, I do know that I am actually more of an OG TITA of Manila living in Sydney than a hip 20-something woman in Sydney.
When Iām at home, whitch is very rare on weekdays because I am out 12 hrs a day, I do a hellavalotta chores and responsibilties that nobody wants to even try to do at home. Ok, ok. Normal yun. I mean, even as a teenager I did that anyway but our home back then didnt have people so I needed to be the man of the house and decide which kumot I will use on a certain day.
But the things I do at home now somehow applies to the stuff I do in my daily grind. Not only that, I am somewhat responsible for the decision-making that goes on in our humble abode because I always pretend Iām a boss-ass bitch, or as what my mum would like to call it: āAKALA MO MAY ARI KA NG BAHAY NA ITO KUNG MAKAPAGSALITA KAā.
Pero naniniwala pa rin ako na Iāve reached the crossroad where I am in the middle of being a millenial and an oldie but more towards the latter.
Iāll give you an example:
1. Strict - I am a very strict person especially when I want to keep everything organised. You stole my pen? Bitch you better give that back. I booked a meeting, you better attend because I have other things to do than see you. Mga ganong ganap. Iām training you for a new client, you better ask me questions because I came prepared. But I guess itās just the organisational part that makes me become a monster.
2. Bag (and its contents) - this is something I spoke about on the RyedWithAsh vlog! Sometimes, you need to come prepared when things dont go according to plan.
Bat ganon? I went to my doctor recently para sana to get myself checked dahil I caught the flu bug and I was asked if I have trouble breathing when sleeping kasi daw anlaki ng tonsils ko at kelangan tanggalin? Are you out of your mind? All jokes aside, I breathe like I carry the worldās problems. So unnecessarily heavy.
4. Reading - I still have books from 2009 I still havent read and theyāre all placed in my mini library. I look at them everyday thinking how beautiful my mini library is only to find myself loathing in personal disappointment dahil andami kong librong hindi nababasa. Minsan naiisip ko, am I keeping these books for ~aesthetic~ purposes or am I really going to read these books? And whenever I make myself time to read, there is another activity I immersed myself with and nakakaloka yung amount of things na gusto ko gawin sa sobrang konti ng time ko. Haaay buhay!
5. Planners - I keep a planner and I religiously update it to keep track of my activities. So far, I have missed a few days because I have so many things to do that I actually started using a different planner I use for work. Either way, busog na busog ang mga planners ko sa dami ng mga checks and notes ko (I have a bullet journal btw so it is still pretty neat).
I could go on forever to list down the very āadultā things I do na feeling ko, malakas maka ātitaā. Pero in comparison to some of the āTITAS OF MANILAā memes, I am nowhere near the description. I still have tea and wine to discover, crafting and hoarding of discount cards to cover. But you know what, thats the thing! I am on my way to being a certified adult and no one can stop me from heading that direction. x
About two weeks ago, I got to celebrate my 29th birthday with my favourite person in the whole world!
Ika nga nila, this is the cherry on top of the icecream.
Ā Ito ang librong gawa ng favourite illustrator ko na si Shaāan DāAnthes which is a Sydney-based illustrator who I also see as my virtual mentor because sheās taught me so much just by watching her videos on Youtube.
We continued to walk around the outdoor shopping centre to soak up the beauty of Sydneyās Autumn weather, and then pumunta kami sa CEX kung saan may mga panindang electronics at DVDās na second hand. All for roughly around 20 bucks.
AT NAGUGUTOM HAHA!
I donāt think Iāve been to other The Leaf franchises na ganto kaganda ang interior.
Ngayong taon, dito ko naisip na I am going back to my childhood -- the toys, the art materials, the books... they all depict who I am as a 29-year-old person and my journey to be a batang 90ā²s. One of the factors that this year is memorable is because ito na yung huling year ko bilang isang 20-something na individual at pakiramdam ko ngayon palang ako sumisibol.
Kaya this year, I will do my best to enjoy my life even more. Do things Iāve never done, own things Iāve always wanted to have bago ako mag 30. This is a self-discovery and adventure at itās full form and I am happy to share this journey with you. Unfiltered.
Hindi ko alam kung ito na ba officially yung very first post ko as THE LAZY RAZKAL -- I had problems coming up with content but I guess it would be easier to talk about why The Lazy Cook Diaries (TLCD) didnt work and just an over-all background check on how I have been (as I would always do anyway in this blog).
So letās do some FAQās! (these are just questions I came up myself by the way so maybe meron na iba sa inyo na gusto ito itanong just not quite sure if asking it via social media is the best way).
So here we go!
May mga bagay na gusto ako isulat na sa tingin ko hindi sya swak sa theme ng pagiging Lazy Cook but more on just being Ash and I had to separate these ideas into different categories and sometimes having difficulties in trying to express your thoughts creatively is very frustrating kaya sabe ko sa sarili ko na I think itās about time I start going back to my original writing style where I know I can write whatever I want with topics as broad as a swimmerās shoulders can get haha! However, a lot has changed since 2013. My writing style is probably a little less bakya but more approachable and a littleĀ āingliseraā because right now I am actually struggling to write in tagalog (siguro ngayon lang yan kasi sinasanay ko pa ulit sarili ko).
2. Anong plano mo sa mga lumang posts mo from TLCD?
To be honest, I dont even know if I should delete them or just continue adding more content because hiding them will probably take me long and moving to a new blogsite will probably take longer considering that there are visions and layouts I want to try! So ito yung napagdesisyunan ko na for now I will keep the older posts until maybe a few weeks and maybe hide the irrelevant ones or the ones that donāt make sense to me anymore! Who knows? Maybe I wont even consider doing that!
3. How is life lately?
Itās been good, but busy. And itās not a bad kind of busy too. As you know, last year I started taking art commissions from friends and eventually weāve had businesses contacting us to help their creative vision come to life! So it had gotten extremely busy + I was semi-promoted into a Senior Associate for another team (which after a week of being their Senior Staff, I reverted back to my old responsibilities because it went so crazy I didnt like taking the challenge handed to me so I went sobbing and came back to my team). I was given better opportunities after that though and I couldnt be any prouder of myself! So to cut the story short I am living my life like a normal tita/millenial, crossing over different timelines and emotions before I hit 30.
4. How do you feel now?
Still a lil worried na maybe sa simula lang to pero di ko kayang tapusin? Siguro it stems from being unable to write before when pinlano ko or di ko maischedule yung mga dapat kong isusulat dahil about 10 years ako nung maging sobrang active ako sa Tabulas bilang si Ayenthology, marami akong topic na nasagap at marami akong oras na pag aralan yung isusulat ko. Marami akong feedback na natatanggap at marami talagang nagbabasa because I was very active in sharing my blog and now alagang alaga ko ung identity ko na parang walang pwedeng makaalam kung sino ako, kumbaga kung talagang nagbabasa ka ng blog ko noon sana mahanap mo ako at kung hindi man maraming salamat kasi naging parte ka ng buhay ko hahaha. Pero ito ako ngayon. At handa na ko magshare.
ps. this whole post only took me about 5 minutes. my previous posts back when the blog was still TLCD would take at least 2 days to construct hahaha! Kaya ngayon alam nyo na kung bakit my heart wasnt into it :)
Iāve had days like this where I just couldnt find the energy to update the blog because I am heading towards a very different path to what I was thinking of doing to this blog merely 5 years ago when I decided to blog about my journey about food.
Itās not that I have lost interest about discovering it -- I love food.
I guess itās more because this is not really me, not really the type of writing Iām used to.
If you are here since the beginning of my tabulas days back in 2005, thank you. If you miss AYENTHOLOGY, I do miss it too.
And so I have decided na ito na. Ibabalik ko na sya.
The journey of a 29-year old food-eater/sydney-sider/illustrator begins.
To those who are still here after reading 1 post about me about food, thank you. I am really grateful for the time you have spent reading my 5-year journey about food. Now that I am in the last year of my 20s, I think it is about time for me to write the way I used to when I know I can write whatever I want and not filtering it.
So the question now is, should I name this blog differently now?
I dont know how to describe the feeling of being a dog auntie. When it was only Eevee, our beagle-pup ā I would go home tired and all I could think of was how I would spend the night playing with her. And true enough, despite the tiredness and the amount of work lined up, a quick playtime with Eevee would kill the exhaustion. And then there were nights when the work would take over and sadly, Eevee had to play by herself. But then came Tyson. Our new AmStaff (American Staffordshire Terrier) who she instantly became bestfriends with. They would play, nap, eat and run around together. Although he is still a little boy, he can definitely pick up! Eevee being the older sister that she is, trully shows how great of a sister she really is, always taking care of him and making sure he is warm at night. This has brought so much happiness to me, because at the end of the day when I know I am not in my 100%, there is still someone that will gladly accept the 80 something percent energy I have left and will still remain happy!
Hello everyone, just thought I'd thank everyone who have liked my artpage.
As you may or may not know, I've always been into visual arts and even at such a young age I would draw girls with nike shirts in the back of my notebook in 4th grade lol and then have practiced mostly in highschool but althroughout my late teens to early 20's, I've kinda shifted from Art to adult life lol but even then I would photoshop people into random photos or even combine long distance friends into 1 photo hahaha.
It was only around 2013 that I've dabbled into Digital Illustrations and since then I've been "upskilling" myself and still learning (not right now though because I dont have a proper pc). You all have probably witnessed the change of styles and whatnot since I usually post the updates on social media and about a year and a half ago, I've been practising with watercolour or whatever creative mediums I discover in addition to make my illustrations look uniquely mine.
NuRiverRazkalz is a way for me to share these experiments and I'm glad that some of you even comissioned me to do artwork for you. I am beyond grateful for all the amazing people who have believed that this hidden gem of a talent can be shared in a wider scale instead of keeping it on blogs or personal fb albums. I was kinda hesitant at first because why would I even share my art when I know I cant even draw my own eyebrows lmao just kidding.
I am still in the process of learning and re-learning, practising and admiring, discovering and observing and of course, failing. But in failing, there is always growth.
Again, thank you very much and my apologies for all the wonky eyes you've seen. It's a recurring theme.
Iāve mentioned a few posts back about Mrs. Royal Domesticity who is a true believer of making food prep fun and interesting. This is for her daughter who also loves food as much as she does! So I thought Iād talk about my own journey more and see how it progresses throughout my journey!
Ever since the #BaonSerye photos became viral on Facebook, Mrs. Royal Domesticity instantly became the millenial mum everyone wants to have.
I idolise the way she makes simple things into something amazing, which is what this blog is all about. I go by simplicity of everything and easycooked meals is what Iāve always aimed for. By watching food comps on tv, I know for sure that chefs and foodies love instagram-worthy dishes that not only feed the stomach, but also the eyes. And this is what Royal Dosmesticity specialises in and it inspires me to be like that as well.
I know this is the second post about baon prep but I just want to point out that being an adult in this world is tougher than it actually is and so my baon preps have now been a weekly thing because adult life has taken over me. I find it therapeutic knowing that for the rest of the week, I have food ready to be packed! And Iād love to share this experience to you all
This is my third week and every week, I pack 2-3 meals that would cater for a few days. I try not to prep more than 4 because Iām scared of food going bad.
Iām so thankful for the great resources and fresh produce Australia has! Couple this with variations of different recipes and extra healthy and delicious sides and desserts, baon-making or ready-to-eat meals shouldnāt be boring after all!
Happy Sunday my lovely readers and Happy 2017 to everyone!
Itās been a while since my last #TheSundayCurrently post so I thought Iād share a little about my day.
Reading - Currently reading Julie and Julia, a book my husband bought me a long time ago. Iāve been having a hard time trying to keep up with my reading these days because my mind is all over the place. Iām becoming less of a book reader but more of a magazine reader which hopefuly still think counts! Previous editions of Frankie Mag have been my bestfriends for the past month <3
Writing - These days, my 2017 Bullet Journal has been getting the love! I will soon update you guys with my current journals and how I switched to analog from digital!
Listening - Late last year, I discovered a band called Hiatus Kayote. Their music is a combination of neo-soul and a whole lot of spunk. Nia Palm is by far the most amazing woman Iāve ever seen in my entire existance! Discovering her via Rage was an accident. I didnt know what to watch that night so I switched off my TV. I got bored so I turned it on again and flipped the channel to ABC and Rage was on, and the whole peeps of Hiatus Kayote were there to share their favourite music video of all time! My favourites from Hiatus Kayote are Molasses and Breathing Underwater.
Thinking - if I should take a nap or not? In this heat (39c), Iād rather stay awake than have a nap but then when youāre napping you wonāt notice the heat that much right?
Smelling - Sauteed meat. We have visitors from my mumās prayer group and sheās whipping up something yummers for dinner!
Wishing - to get another break soon! Iād love to go to Melbourne for our 2nd wedding anniversary in April.
Hoping - to finalise all my drafts before the big blog surprise <3
Wearing - For the past 5 months or so, Iāve beenĀ loving this denim overhaul my colleague was giving away for free. At the time, I was looking for a place to get my own overhauls from but because I was so busy I didnt have time to do it. Hooray for free clothes!
Loving - my husband, always! Heās been dropping me and picking me up from work everyday for the past week. He said he wants to shower me with love even more and take this opportunity to drop me off to work as weāve both missed that opportunity when we were in a long distance relationship. I thank him everyday ofcourse but thanking just doesnt cut it. So to you, my husband - thank you for always making me feel comfortable and well taken care of. You are amazing <3
Wanting - to get a new laptop or get my old computer fixed so I can make more creative work? I miss all of you!
Needing - a licence! Despite the free travel I get from my husband, I badly want to start driving! Liverpool is 32km away from where I live so I think itās time for me to get my licence. Or get my eyeglasses first, perhaps?
Feeling - Pretty chill. Work again tomorrow!

As a kid, art was my comfort when my dad would tell me I canāt play outside that day becauseĀ āDaddy said soā.
I developed my love and passion for art in 4th Grade when I would draw headless bodies with trendy clothes. Creepy but thatās how my adventure started.Ā
My cousins and siblings are all talented in the field of Art so I guess it was a talent waiting to blossom. And it did!
From trendy girls with no heads to comic strip drawings, I invested my afternoon sketching people, sceneries and dreaming that one day work for Funny Komiks (a local Filipino comic book company). I had a few people in my class in 6th Grade that wanted to become comic book artists too so we created a character thatās closely similar to Pendro Penduko.
After my short stint in making my comic book dream happen, I continued on with my life discovering other talents that I may have like singing, writing stories that only my friends would read, dancing, playing instruments and being in a band - I did it all! But I would always go back to sketching my headless women ala Fashion Illustration style and pretended I was part of a big publishing company.
As I entered my teenage life, my love for art progressed and until today, I still continue to do illustrations once in a while. I have attended a few art classes althroughout my life but nothing beats finding out your style on your own.
Adult life has taken over me for the past 10 years of my life and now that I am getting myself out there by being a blogger of this amazing blog, I am also stepping one foot forward into making my art available for everyone while I am also learning everyday.
These photos are a testament of my learning experience - all of them are digital illustrations, something I taught myself to do.
Art is an escape for me in this busy world. I love it, and I hope you as a reader will feel the same too! Experiment, do something creative and try something new! Have fun and do something youāve never done before. As cliche as it may sound, we all need a little art therapy once in a while :)
I recently came across a photo set on Facebook of food bento boxes of a woman whose passion is to share her food prep for her daughter, Sophia. It got me so excited and now I want to share my own version of my bento box for today! It's not really a bento box as I have nothing there other than my usual savoury stuff and rice but it's an amazing challenge I would like take part of! Royal Domesticity, a blog associated with the kiddie bento boxes is a blog about being a hands-on millenial mum in today's fast-paced millenial world. Thank you to the author of Royal Domesticy for bringing us excitement into preparing food for work/school. We tend to forget the beauty of home-made cooking and its impact in self-satisfaction. In our world today, we heavily rely on cooked meals on-the-go but we never fill our tummies as we are constantly rushing. We usually forget to appreciate the beauty of home-cooked meals and the enjoyment it comes after eating it. Here's an appreciation post for all cooks out there who enjoy packing food and would dedicate their daily lives creating amazing bento/lunch boxes for their families :) ⢠Afritada cooked by my husband (originally cooked Wednesday night and brought to work the next day) ⢠TimTam Bisquits ⢠Orange Juice Looking forward to more **Baons in the future! **food prepared to bring to work/schook
Menudo is one of the Filipino dishes I first learned to cook. Itās simple and the ingredients are affordable. All you need are your staples and BAM, youāve got a dinner that everyone will surely love!
I decided to make a video of how I make my Menudo.
Usually, I have more ingredients than what I have available on my video, but the purpose of this video is to show you fellow foodies that you can make an amazing meal with just 3-5 ingredients. This is what #TheLazyCookDiaries is about anyway, easy meals for the lazy cooks!
Traditionally, Filipino Menudo is always accompanied by Jasmine/White rice, but more and more people are incorporating this dish as a sauce base for pies, sandwiches and even⦠PASTA!
You may add Frankfurts, green peas, raisins, liver pate andā¦. SPRITE (yep, youāve read that right)⦠if you want the usual Menudo taste from Filipino parties but this will do the trick.
Hello! Happy Sunday to you :)
Sunday is usually my day of resting, church and family and today itās all about getting my creativity a goodĀ āol exercise.
First stop in the activity for today is The Sunday Currently.
My fourth TSC to be exact! I havenāt updated my TSC for quite sometime now so I thought Iād update you with whatās been happenin right this very moment!
Reading - Frankie Magazine Issue 64. I accidentally sent this copy to my brother along with some materials I made for my nieces christening a year ago. Now reading it. Frankie still never ceases to give me inspiration.
Writing -Ā Updating my daily journal. I try to re-count my daily adventures on my journal. Along with that, I also do some doodles of what I discovered that day (mostly food)
Listening - Sunday is all about old music, 90ā²s dance music and the music of vacuum in this house. We are currently listening to Jivebunny All-time greatest hits, have you heard of Jive Bunny before?
Thinking - of collaging some of my previous foodscapades! .
Smelling - Current smell of Voltaren Osteo-Gel. Dear dear dear, we are getting old in this house!
Wishing - my house has another room for all the things I have accumulated over the years, or just a space where I can trully say my haven. Being a wife means you have to share your room with another person. I am very keen in finding a home for us in the coming months, so we can have a spare room for just our things <3
Hoping - finalise everything before the end of this month. July, where has the time gone?
Wearing - I am actually wearing a make-up right now, Bought BYS Contour and Highlight sticks I have always wanted to try on. Been watching a lot of short make-up vids lately and I think I have mastered the amateur look :P
Loving - the situation I am in right now. Although, an extra week of just art and travel would be amazing right now.
Wanting - to get another tattoo of Peony and other elements that reflect who I am as a person.Ā
Needing - another holiday but within Sydney? A staycation, perhaps?
Feeling - AMAZEBALLS! Itās Sunday, Iām with my family... what more can I ask for?

About 8 years ago, I wrote a Flipino poem about standing up after a break-up.
At the time that I wrote it, I just needed to get myself back to writing something... anything! I wasnāt really heart-broken but I thought a lot of people might be in the same situation and I thought, why not put myself in someoneās shoes and ask the question, āWhat if I was in that same position? What if I thought I had everything I could ever ask for and then he decides to throw that away? Would I be able to stand up again after that?ā
I was 19 and single then. Never experienced it but what if?
The reason why Iām sharing this to my blog now is because I think a lot of my friends are in the āIām-Fine-But-Bitch-I-Still-Care-About-Him-But-Yolo-I-Will-Get-Myself-Drunk-Every-Night-Or-Turn-Into-A-Nunā phase; whether it be because of a recent break up with a Ā long-term partner, spouse or even breaking up with their āBesā (lol sorry I just had to). Most of my friends have either invested themselves into someone and failed miserably or just didnāt know if they are ready to commit into a serious relationship because it might turn into a monstrous disaster and never recover.
I saw a spoken word video of a woman expressing her pain and sorrow after she lost her battle. When she was in the middle of everything - in the middle of success and failure, in holding on and saying goodbye and in finding herself versus finding her love. Iād love my piece to be a spoken word piece but I think I am fine leaving it as it is.Ā
To you, youāll be okay. I may not have gone through a heavy break-up to write such a heavy piece but I have been through enough in my life that in a way relates to this. I know that you are stronger than you think. You will get yourself up there, dust yourself off and walk back to where you left off.Ā
Wag Ka Magtaka
Disclaimer: If youāve seen this poem before under someoneās name, thatās okay. Thatās me under another name.

Kaya minsan,gusto kong mapag-isa..
