Tonight I made a phone call to someone who helped me out and listened when I was going through a hard time. His position is one which his usual phone calls would be someone asking for something or needing a shoulder to cry on. I let him know how much I really appreciated him listening and advising me when I needed it and that I hope he has the most amazing Christmas and a big THANK YOU. He replied saying he has never had a nicer phone call. I'm sure he was exaggerating, but it was lovely to hear the joy in his voice when he realised how he had really made a difference to me. I've been in a position where I would take phone call after phone call and it would be hard sometimes to distance myself from the effects it would have taking everyone's issues and personal problems with no one else to discuss them with. But at the end of the day when someone makes the effort to say thank you or that you had made a difference, it all feels worth it. Make sure you appreciate those who help you and make sure you let them know & say thank you, being grateful is a wonderful feeling and sharing that love this time of year is an excellent present that is worth more than money can buy.
