b shut down in front of the barton institute
If there was one absolute truth about Max, it's that she will never shy away from decking an asshole in the face. Even if, in today's case, she had no plans of getting into trouble for once. The only plan she had was to lend her support to the strike in front of the Barton Institute, which went about as smooth as it could until some cop began crowding her and the people around her. Without hesitation, she threw her fist and darted off into a crowd. In all her hurry, she couldn't tell if it was a crowd of press, protestors, or whoever, but she weaved her way through bodies until ducking behind the first person she could.
"Whatever you do, don't move!" she harshly whispered over their shoulder, briefly peeking over to see if she was followed before hiding behind them again.
Anna was bursting with energy. Seeing all those people coming together and making a difference was always gonna make her day, no matter how many times she's been to protests like this. And this one in particular definitely felt like touched a nerve for the city's higher ups considering how fast and how aggressively the police got involved, which was as exciting as it was scary, particularly when punches started flying around. She was never much of a fighter.
She was surprised, more than anything, when someone chose her of all people to hide behind, but Anna was nothing if not helpful for those in need. "I'm not sure if this is the best hiding spot for you, I'm not gonna lie, I'm not exactly plentiful in the inches department," she joked, moving just enough to block the vision of a nearby cop. "That was a great punch, by the way.... but I'd probably reconsider before doing that again. You never know how those things will escalate. Someone could get really hurt."
