This reunion is so important to me

Something I absolutely love they do with these moments- look at the way they frame Pidge’s face.

We are so used to seeing her full face, hair, shoulders, everything about the way she carries herself. She may be petite but she carries herself with confidence and zeal. Someone with experience and knowledge to be heard not just seen.

But in the moments where she’s reuniting/bonding with her family they take care to hide her sharper features. We don’t see a fiery pixie cut, we see sweet bangs with organic curls. We see the tears and joy in her eyes. Her gentle smile. They way they frame her in these moments always takes me back to images of her in a dress, in middle school, a softer girl.

This is the difference between Pidge and Katie. It’s a simple thing that can be easy to gloss over but it’s so important. War will not take things away from this girl. It certainly has tried but she built on who she was and fought tooth and nail to recover what was taken but she also maintained who she was and who she is.

The message behind this is so beautiful. Even when you don’t feel good about yourself when nothing seems right, there is still a pure soul for whom you are the most amazing, the most beautiful person ever. The good girl.

Someone who does not understand your sad look when seeing yourself in the mirror. Who does not get your feeling of not being enough. ‘Why so sad, hooman. You are amazing!! I love you!’

For your dog, you will always be enough. And you don’t have to always give everything and more. They are happy with just being with their favorite hooman.
