Going to McDonalds for a salad is like going to a prostitute for a hug. [you already know who this is for]

“You definitely aren’t wrong my man but the missus wants me to keep that cholesterol down you know. What’s the McDonalds of salad?”
“Watch yo’self. I’m just tryin to take care of myself, for my daughter.” He chuckled. “Shit, I am old.”
William laughed when Floyd relented that he was old. “At least you’re trying for your daughter.” He said. It must have been nice to care about someone. He was bitter, that he couldn’t make those kinds of attachments with people.

“Gettin’ high cholesterol, Floyd? Does that mean you’re getting old?” He teased.
Reunited (Closed)
Mickey’s stomach squeezed so sickeningly tight that he gritted his teeth from the ache. The words weren’t anything compared to the defeated slump in William’s demeanor, the deadness in his eyes, the way he pulled away. He sighed and plucked the cigarette from between William’s fingers before it fell. He licked his lips a bit nervous to share with the other man now. He tried not to stand too close to William even though he wanted to pull him close and pretend that things weren’t absolutely fucked and different now. He clenched his fist by his side and tried to focus on breathing. There was nothing he could’ve done–he was sure that was true but it didn’t stop the flare of anger that the words stirred in his chest.
“Fine,” he agreed gruffly. He almost felt guilty for holding back so much of his anger. It simply reinforced how different things were now; how far things had fallen apart. “Yeah. I know. It?” He asked casually, not sure whether William would want to share anything with him now. They barely knew each other now. If it was up to him, Mickey wouldn’t let things stay that way.
There was a heavy silence blanketed the room. William let it sit for a moment; not saying anything for a while. He refused to look at Mickey, ashamed of himself and what he was...
"How do you stay so fuckin rosy?"
"Because I think about what people can turn into.” William replied without hesitation. “You let bitterness and anger consume you and you become someone like the Joker."
"You think that you can stop that shit from happening then?"
“I can try.”
Mickey smiled weakly. It was sweet but fuckin dumb and he couldn't help thinking so. "You're the only one."
"Well you know... All these people have shitty lives and then their bad day...I don't want to be like that. I don't want to hate the world and think everyone owes me something." William would be different. If he had his bad day, he wouldn’t give up. He would keep going...
Looking back on it, he was grossly optimistic. He had been constantly trying to compensate for how he really felt. It’s not wonder... William straightened up with resolve as he let his empty hand fall back down to his knee. He swallowed before he said resolutely, “My bad day.” He wasn’t sure if that phrase held any significance to Mickey still, but William was constantly reminded by his daily actions. He gave up, just like he said he wouldn’t.
