A little running animation loop I recently work on.
In 3D class we had to create a coffee machine based on an existing model (I chose Delonghi’s Icona Vintage espresso machine), texture it the way we wanted and create two different lightings : one calm and in situation, and one more badass. My second one ending up more kitsch than badass but oh well...
The teacher also gave us a scene he modelised entirely, and we had to work on the textures, composition and lighting.
Researches on the character design for this year’s long project. We’re settling for the last one with the weird neck, hopefully it won’t be too much of a hassle to animate him in 3D !
Victorian lady, captain, guards and pirate. I sort of revamped pirates of the caribbean in an anthropomorphic way, and with a bit more female presence.
Still life and portraits from our colour classes, the former on photoshop and the latter with gouache.
Brace yourselves ladies and gentlemen (and everyone in between), here is the trailer for our award winning short film ! /o/
Just kidding, it’s a fake trailer (with obviously fake awards and everything) for a documentary about the struggles of gifted children at school, all over the world. At first we were going to talk about the problems of primary, secondary and high school in general but decided it best to take the example of gifted children (especially underachievers) and talk about the global issue through a more specific subject.
We chose to represent the struggles the children have to face with abstract animation, with a mix of live action, 2D, and 3D. In our opinion, abtract animation is a good way to illustrate what’s going on in the subjects’ minds, and it strikes the viewer more effectively than concrete and narrative animation would have. Also it was very interesting for us as we ended up experimenting a lot and having fun with different techniques.
Done with the lovelies Tiphaine (http://tiphaine-turlututu.tumblr.com/), Justine (instagram : @justinehemery), Zijing and Pauline.
Here’s my latest mattepainting assignment. With our teacher’s holiday photos of Carcassonne castle as a base, we had to create 3 different views of the same environment, in 3 different weathers and lights. How exciting, I know... But I actually had quite a lot of fun working on this !
I like him.
Trying out a new style for a background assignment about colour and composition
I can now proudly present you my and @thenainja‘s animation assignments, this is the hard work of 1 year and I hope you guys will enjoy it, cause we surely enjoyed creating it !
We had to make five 10 seconds long animations !
Here are the 5 very short films I co-directed this year with @alouette-lulu, it was a lot of fun to work with this adorable little deer :3
I’m working on a short adaptation from Murakami’s novel After Dark ! I started reading some Murakami a few months ago and completely fell in love with his style. I’m probably never gonna finish this short film, and even if I do it’ll be completely incomprehensible... oh well
This is one of the bits I animated for the Marathon de l’anim 2017 in Lille. We had two days to complete 10 seconds of animation, beginning and ending on an image created by RUN. Overall it was a great experience, lots of fun and we got to meet animation students from all over Europe and Asia, which was really nice !
I worked on this with Baptiste Malbranque and Chloe Bourdic, please check out their tumblrs, they have really cool stuff in there !
Here’s the link to the full video with everyone’s participation : https://vimeo.com/212732911
Little sketch I did recently, trying out a different style
Result of my first week with Maya. I’m responsible for the modelisation and textures of the hat and coat rack, the composition of the scene, lighting, compositing, animation and soung design.
My very first animated short film is finally out ! Done for Jenlain’s 94 seconds contest with Laure de Chateaubourg (https://laure-de-chateaubourg.tumblr.com/) and Chloe Bourdic, it was such a pleasure to work with those two wonderful beings.
Currently working on several very short animated films. Here are some character designs and researches
