Two weeks backpacking through France? That must’ve been a mindfuck. Did you become one with your soul chakras – or whatever it is the kids are doing these days?
It was kind of unplanned, so I didn't see as many sights as I would've liked, but it was great. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. For French, I did take a few classes, but it does not prepare you for the real thing. It's a wonderful place, though, fresh air, lots of food and bikes. And being one with my soul chakras? I’m far from being one with them, but it has that escaping reality sort of feel, so that was great.
Wasn’t he the actor-guy who was one of the first people to successfully have comedic theatre? And then didn’t he pretend to be a tutor for a noble so he and end up having an affair with his wife? Oh, and didn’t he have, like, really bangin’ facial hair? Ah, high school french class – where you learn the important stuff.
I honestly couldn’t even get through the first page, so you can tell I’m really bad at french. I’ve checked some Cliff Notes, but it’s nothing like reading the book. And yeah, you’ve gotten the gist of it. I should have asked you about it instead of attempting to read this old French on the fly.
You can pretend to read it. Pseudo-intelligence and all that. Or, find a French to English translation, monsieur. It’ll lose some of its meaning, though.
It’s no fun to just read it in English, just loses all the double meaning and jokes they put in, wouldn’t it? And I checked the Cliff Notes, but it’s not like reading the real thing. I’m quite the fan of old litterature, really, it wouldn’t seem fair to the work.
MOODBOARD 001: THEO BEING THEO.
are you hurting the one you love? when they watched the walls, and the ticking clock? are you hurting the one you l o v e? and was it something you could not stop?
Note to self: Just because you spent two weeks backpacking through France, does not mean you can read french literature. Especially Molière.
