So my friend told me that I need to speak on what’s happening in Ferguson. Honestly I really don’t want to but in my soul I have to post at least 1 blog.
Let me start off by saying there is not a racist bone in my body. I love you all even if you don’t love me. I might not like some of you LOL but I still have love for you.
Mike Brown:
I have mixed feelings about this.
One hand I feel Mike Brown and his friend. I’m walking minding damn business, just trying to get to my granny’s house (which is not that far way). Why should I have to move onto the sidewalk? No cars are coming; I’m almost to my destination; I haven’t done anything wrong. Why are you bothering me? There are plenty of other crimes happen at this very moment. Personally I have been there too many times where, as a black male, I have been detained and question for no reason. Displayed as a criminal just because of the color of my skin or the way I dress. Since its 2014 every thinks racism has just up and left. WELL let me tell you Oh NO it’s still alive and well. Don’t Foul Yourself.
BUT on the other hand, as a black male, I know that we need to stop giving people a reason. I’m not saying his shooting was justifiable at no means. What I am saying is my Dad always taught me to be wise and pick my battles. What would have been so bad for them to just get on the sidewalk? WHAT?? They had to take orders from the white man. (Been there done that). I’m not saying that he probably wouldn’t have gotten shot. What I’m saying is PICK YOUR BATTLES WISELY MY BROTHERS.
Protests vs Riots
I’m a Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. type of brother. I’m down with the peaceful protest but sometimes they don’t hear you unless you tear shit up. BUT WE ARE TEARING OUR OWN COMMUNITIES DOWN. What type of sense does that make? I saw a video on YouTube where a brother is trying to educate these young men of why they shouldn’t be breaking into stores and stealing. The only thing they saw was him standing in there way of free merchandise. They actually threaten the guy SMH. Like you are that far gone that you come to protest unwarranted murder of a man but in the same breathe threaten to beat up a man; all because you want some free liquor. REALLY!!!!!!!!!
Now people saying President Obama needs to do something. MY PEOPLE!!!! My wife says I’m hard on my own race. And YES I AM. Stop waiting for others to do stuff for you. If the only reason you voted for Obama is because you though he was going to change everything for black people then you wasted your vote.
