saw a picture while searching wingsuit references and thought of simon immediately
i am only ever one good reference image away from drawing zolf in a grotty tank top
ID:a loosely coloured digital sketch of zolf smith, a fat white dwarven man, lifting a large log on his shoulder. he has close cropped white hair, a large white beard and is wearing a white tank top and very small black shorts that show off his thighs. he has above the knee prosthetic legs that are very loosely implied by the sketch. he has the log on one shoulder, with both his arms raised to help hold it. he has a mildly bemused expression and, despite the large size of the log, his face shows no signs of exertion. he has a tattoo of a compass on his shoulder and below it is a celtic knot of rope.
I had fully forgot the chief of the meritocratic miliary forces was actually introduced and was the one to offer a job for the team.
Withim the context that Wilde was supposed to be a cameo I'm convinced she lost her narrative importance due to James deciding Bertie would have sex with Wilde. My boy got promoted from one time joke to special little NPC over other NPC's dead bodies.
10th of June 2015, Rusty Quill Gaming released its first ever episode, and ten years on, we still love it.
So to celebrate, a very talented bunch of people came together to offer a tribute for a show that has touched our hearts and happily still has its cozy place there to this day.
Please enjoy.
I love you rusty quill games.

hey :/ i need some advice, feeling super ill today and my wife calpurnia had a weird dream about me dying. should i go to the senate meeting today anyway? not rlly feeling up to it
if you don’t go to the senate the senators will think you’re cringe
Would you still love your fans if they where all worms?
I don't love them now.
Also, worms might be one of the few demographics with less purchasing power than young queer artists, so it would be very bad news for my mortgage.
Also also never trust a creator who says they love their fans. Hell, never trust anyone who doesn't react to gaining any sort of fame by recoiling like they've touched hot metal, because you end up with fans and foes you've never met and both are weird in different ways.
And that's not to say I don't very genuinely appreciate all the people who support me and like and buy my stuff. I think I just resent that the modern creative industry means you have to be constantly marketing your own public persona because everything has to be personality-led (lucky for me I have a fucking fantastic personality) and there's always the incentive to encourage some potentially unhealthy attachments from your fans.
So I advise you to never trust anyone who seems to actually like that.
hi bossman,
i know this question is a bit weird/maybe private? so feel free to ignore. my friend has recently been gaining a bit of online fame that's started to get into irl recognition etc etc & is struggling to deal with it. most of their network/friends haven't had to deal with that kind of thing so they don't have anyone who really Gets It - do you have any advice for them? or things i can do to support them?
This is a HUGE topic I can't begin to do justice to right now. We actually run a whole dedicated training program for our major talent on it. Best I can do here is try to keep it at a Triage level with the warning that I am an incredibly small fish in an incredibly tiny pond and I am still terrible at dealing with this on a personal level. Things for your friend to know: 1) Ask @jonnywaistcoat, he is MUCH better at that side of things than I am. 2) Never EVER seek more personal fame, only brand/work fame. If you treat personal fame like a negative side-effect/necessity of your work/position you will keep a healthier brain space. 3) Fans are not friends, even if you want them to be. There is a power imbalance that cannot be redressed and it is irresponsible for you to act or think otherwise. 4) Remember that you are not famous, your brand is. People like (or hate) who they think you are but they don't know you and it's incredibly difficult to get someone to see past the brand and actually know you. 6) The more famous you are the less generous people will be in their interactions with you. i.e. you are guilty until proven innocent. 7) Just because someone is a fan does not automatically mean you owe them what they feel entitled to, you have to consciously consider it every time. 8) Relationships that pre-date the fame or with people who are unaware of your fame are safer. (Although you may at some point need to warn them in case fans try to get to you through them.) Things you can do to help your famous friend : a) Help them sanitise their online presence. With their permission, get online and do your best to investigate them as if with hostile intent, then help them get rid of whatever might hurt them. b) If you find yourself in fan spaces that relate to them DO NOT mention you are their friend. You will end up being treated as their gatekeeper, borrowing their clout and paying for it with their reputation. c) Do not ask them for favours. They are going to be inundated with such asks and will be feeling very commodified and vulnerable. d) Offer them normality when they want it. Normal hangouts, a private dinner etc. It goes a long way. e) Try not to be alienated from them if you can't directly sympathise with the issues this brings. In my experience dealing with celebs who are properly famous, the more fans they have the more lonely they can feel.
Sorry I can't offer more help. It can be a real problem for people in the digital age especially since even framing fame as a negative can often invite haters.
This is some good advice. I honestly think more people need to see this and keep it in mind.
