The fact that the show is named ‘The Owl House’ and not after Luz herself is honestly kind of cool in my opinion. Because yes, Luz is the protagonist, but the show is much larger than her. It’s about this cast of characters we’ve grown to love and their relationships to each other— ranging from friendships, to romance, to familial, and so on. And it circles around the Owl House because that’s their safe place. Literally and figuratively. It’s where Eda and King hide out from the law and it’s where Luz feels most like herself. It’s where Eda disclosed her curse status and where Luz first did magic.
And then she coaxes others in.
It’s where Willow and Gus solidified their bond with Luz. It’s where Amity can go now, away from her parents and siblings but no longer lonely, like she was at the library. It’s going to be where Lilith and Eda fix their fractured relationship. It’s where the characters can be most themselves. Outside of the house, they’ve all got fronts to put on.
But not here. Not at the Owl House. Because it’s where they feel at home.
And I think that’s pretty neat.
