Have you tried using after effects cc 2017 to make your animation? There’s links to get it for free on YouTube.
I prefer legit softwares over piracy, as I’m working as a professional too. “Free” and official never exist when it’s about Adobe.
Yeah, After Effects is an awesome software ! You can do plenty things with it. But I’ll be using Sony Vegas for the compositing, Open Toonz Z for the vectorisation of the animation, and Clip Studio Paint EX for the draft animation and colors

Just bought the software I needed to really begin the production, thanks to a mega sale on it !
Before that... to let you imagine: I had only 25 images allowed. So I had to draw the 25 main frames of my animation (it was all accelerated as a result), then space everything on a video compositing software. And a movement sometimes took me 3 folders of 25 images !
That was not practical at all. REALLY !
But now I’ll be able to work with a proper software and do it clean and faster !

Hi guys, I'm still alive ! ... I think ?
Just a little message to inform you about some things about this project.
First: yes, I'm still working on it! But I unfortunately hadn't enough time these last weeks to progress as much as I would like, and my shitty health wasn't helping.
I'm trying to find an alternative software to work with to make the rough frames before polishing them in the animation software (OpenToonz atm).
My current software only allows me to draw 25 frames. 25 frames is nothing, and it drives me crazy because I can't make proper inbetweens.
If any of you guys know a good legit software for drawing animations with a sketchy look, that would be awesome ! I'm more confortable with the pencil style i'm currently using and I try to find a software with the same kind of look. (Not like Flash, for example, who is using vector drawing)
Hopefully I'll be able to work more actively on it in January. Thanks for following this project guys!

DP reboot concept that I don’t think anyone thought about yet: Gregor/Elliot is an actual interesting recurring character with deeper lore instead of being a one-shot throwaway character to make Danny jealous Idk, I just feel as if that guy has a cool enough design. Make him cool somehow. Maybe with real affiliations with guys in white? Affiliations with ghosts? Who knows. i dont think ive ever seen a single post about that dude

Hi ! Sorry for the lack of news, but I got really busy these months, not having time to work properly on it enough to post something.
The good news is that i’m up to date with my main project. That means i’ll be able to work on “The Perfect Son” as soon as I got some time !

Well, the animation will be with the same style as an episode of the show, yes. I’ll begin with the intro of the episode (you know, before the song) and I’ll be using several quotes from the original show. If I’m able to continue the project for a whole episode, I’ll search some voice actors :)
Name idea. Umbra- it refers to the shadow from an eclipse. Or the dark central spot of a sun. (Though, I recommend looking it up to make sure I didn't get that wrong...)
