The amount of food America throws out is actually fucking horrendous. Another reason why I dont have the will to work anywhere near food is because I actually have fucking compassion and would give away what went unused at the end of the day, that action could get me FIRED.

As someone who has worked in 2 restaurants and currently work in a grocery store in the US, I can attest to this. SO much food just gets fucking tossed.

The only exception I’ve seen is like once a week, maybe less often, our bakery is allowed to donate bread to some charity and usually the bakery tries to give away more than the one person from the charity has room in their car for.

And we have so much food go bad because there’s so much of it, no one buys it. It’s infuriating.

I hate when people scream stay in school for certain occupations, like farmers or field hands maids and janitors, fast food workers, plumbers and construction workers. Why not just treat them with fucking respect and pay them a Livable wage.

Cause if everyone stopped these core jobs that benefits ALL of us, who the fuck gone do it??

also, have they ever planted ANYTHING?! it’s not like you don’t need to know shit to farm. What specific breeds of carrot are you growing and why? You cannot have A SINGLE FUCKING PEBBLE in that dirt or else the carrot will grow all wrong- did you know that? Is your soil alkaline or acidic? That could ruin a whole crop. What was planted in that field BEFORE? THAT could ruin a whole crop! Did it rain too much? Too little? What kind of watering do you have to do? Do you water on top of the plant, or at the sides, or flood from the bottom to only hit the soil? Some plants LOVE over-the-top of the plant watering, and some will fucking die from that. Basil is a picky motherfucker and will get moldy if you don’t water JUST RIGHT. Also, time of day of said watering! When is the best time for THAT plant to be watered? Some thrive if you water in noonday sun but if you water at night, they rot, others won’t have enough water to seep down into them and it’ll ruin the plant. What kind of pesticides are safe to use on what you grow? Roses are farmed like this too, but different pesticides can be used on those because you don’t fucking eat them. Or does this farm need to use co-planting? Is co-planting effective on the size of land you’re working, or does it create more problems? When you see spots on some leaves, are those spots spider mites? Did you check for ants (they protect mites)? Are they mildew from too much moisture? What about yellow leaves- root rot? Or not the right nutrients? Or something else? Can that spread to the other plants since they’re planted closely together to maximize profits? Are ten diseases plants already blowing infected particles to your WHOLE FIELD??? The weather patterns are all fucked up, so what makes for good times to plant and good times to harvest? Some of the seasons are stretching into extra time, so it’s not like they can always count on planting in February or whatever. You can’t.  Bitch if you don’t think farmers didn’t already have a kind of schooling, you’re not allowed to eat anymore. Maybe you should go to college to find out how agriculture fucking works, idk.

yknow how you want to like female characters and not immediately hate them but at the same time they’re often written by those men that have a limited understanding of women as people and it’s really hard to like a character that is less meant to be a person and more of a wanking hand puppet intended for the male gaze

the flip side is when we’re supposed to dislike a female character but she’s obviously a straw-woman the writer’s using to work out some unresolved issues he has with an ex or his mom or an unrequited crush so you actually kind of like her out of spite (especially when the narrative insists she’s terrible but the real person she’s based on was wholly reasonable and the writer can’t conceal that)
