Fire-arrows - did archers really use them in battles? We see them in the movies, so presumably not.

Secrets of the Castle with Ruth, Peter and Tom Episode 1 BBC Documentary 2014
Merchandise for The Purest Blood is now available on Society 6! It has everything from phone cases, to tote bags, to blankets!
All money(if any) I make on there will go to the novel I am working on called Woad so I can get it professionally edited. I was not able to do that with The Purest Blood, but I am hoping I can save up enough for Woad.
If you are interested in taking a peek, use this link so you can get free shipping from now until Feb 7, 2016.
(Thanks to @alliepennauthor for helping me find out about Society 6! You can find her awesome store here. Please go take a peak; her art is beyond amazing.)

Fuller not blood groove - NOT for "letting blood out"!
Assassin's Hood - Badass, but severely limiting.
Hoods are very popular for mages, assassins, and generally mysterious and/or "cool" characters in video games and other fantasy fiction. It's easy to forget just how impractical they would be in real-life fighting...
This forgotten castle (Château de la Mothe-Chandeniers) was abandoned after a fire In 1932. Seeing it up close Is breathtaking. These days it seems like castles only exist in storybooks and Disney movies. What happened to the foreboding dwellings of our wealthiest ancestors? The truth of the matter is, while there are still many castles in Europe, many have fallen into disrepair and ruin over time. However, a group of preservationists in France are trying to save a 13th century castle that is slowly being reclaimed by nature. The story behind the abandoned property is just as fascinating as what’s left standing today. See an amazing video here.
Can I have it?
Casting swords in the movies - forging a lie
There is a method of making a sword, often depicted in the movies (I give three examples in this video, but there are MANY more), whereby glowing orange iron is poured into a huge mould, and we the viewers see the fiery liquid taking the shape of the hero's blade-to-be. The snag with this is, it's rubbish.
The Kindle e-book of The Purest Blood is free for five days starting today!
Medieval war weapons were mostly private purchases
Who bought medieval weapons, who supplied soldiers, and so on. This is a super quick video.
Karkonosze Mountains, Poland; Mysterious Castle by Karol Nienartowicz
I realized it’s been a while since I posted a book trailer for The Purest Blood, so here is a new one!
It is really simple, but I hope you all still like it :)
Rope and Hollywood
“ In the movies, they don't treat rope with the respect it deserved. Here I rant a bit about this. I go off topic for a bit near the end, but I bring it back. “
Here is the video on making Medieval Ropes

The Purest Blood will be free Oct 31-Nov 04 2015.
I am already getting people say things along the lines of “Why would you ever give your book away for free?!” but trust me, I do have a reason. If I am completely honest, the major reason is marketing. As of right now, my book has no reviews on GoodReads, and one in total on Amazon.
Now don’t get me wrong, I do not mind if I don’t make money off my book, but the fact that no one has considered reading is sort of heartbreaking. I would love to give it at least the smallest chance at getting a little known; even if the reviews are not what I want.
Wish it luck; and if you do read it, please don’t forget to review! :)
