"This game ruined my life, re-wired my brain chemistry, and changed me forever!"
The Game:
A Hobbit once said that there is some good in this world worth fighting for, and I can't live with disappointing Samwise Gamgee.
Forearms... just forearms....😍
love the end of the two towers where gandalf looks into the sunset talking bout "yea frodo had to go it alone it was his destiny and there is no changing it he will be ok 😌✨" and aragorn is like "sam went with him btw" and gandalf is like "oh fuck thank god"
the other elves welcoming Legolas in Valinor
people talk about how we need to bring back "don't feed the trolls" rhetoric for modern internet ragebait and I agree but also I think the most useful thing from the Old Internet that I miss is LURKING
be a lurker. just read things and think about them without feeling the need to weigh in or call out or disseminate everything you encounter. it's so nice and so freeing and it's a good way to learn things.
I have frequently regretted getting involved in shit that didn't involve me online but you know what I've never regretted doing? Lurking. literally lurk moar
little crows
Reblog if you're hoping 2011 will be a fresh start.
hang on i need to review my entire post history from all time and make sure i haven't said anything embarrassing
awful news guys
vampires are so full of shit. "oh the human race is beneath us, you're just livestock to us" I don't think you know what livestock is. do you feed us? care for us? protect us from predators? no. you just slink around dark alleys and ambush people. that's not what a higher being does. that's a bottom feeder. a parasite. karate punches your head off
there’s something very beautiful about being able to try again tomorrow
I have been trying tomorrow for the past 3 years
and you still have tomorrow to try again
I think the ultimate fantasy that people have when depicting Brienne is thinking 'Well *I* wouldn't think she was ugly just because she doesn't fit medieval Westerosi beauty standards. In fact, I would think she was HOT!' OK. Cool. Would you still respect her if you did, in fact, think she was ugly though? Or is morality tied up with appearance still, just behind one additional layer of abstraction?
Apparently there’s a “kids shouldn’t be allowed in grocery stores” thing being spread on TikTok because they might scream or run around and look yeah that’s annoying but at a certain point you’ve gotta just put up with kids being a little annoying in public. Sure the kid pouring milk in the isles is the fault of a shitty parent and should be asked to leave, but a single mom with an otherwise controlled by crying toddler isn’t doing anything wrong. I think you’ll live if someone’s two year old starts screaming in their arms in isle 3. It might be annoying but that mom is probably having a worse day than you
I once had an argument with a person who was like, "Parents should not be allowed to bring crying children into pharmacies even if the kid needs medicine because there might be people there with sensory issues." Like. If your toddler has an ear infection and needs antibiotics and children's tylenol, are you under the impression that you can just wait that shit out? Or tell the child, "Better be absolutely quiet, your pain is so much less important than the pain of a purely hypothetical adult?" Fortunately said person was banned from the forum in question for unrelated unhingedness, but it just makes me want to remind people: what with the growth of supermarkets and supercenters and ultra-mega-super-buy-everything-you-need-in-one-weird-soulless-five-block-walmart centers, banning children from grocery stores wouldn't just be preventing parents (especially single or disadvantaged ones who don't have childcare resources) from getting food. It also bars them from shopping for other things, everything from clothing to medicine.
Also? How do you expect children to learn how to shop and behave in such spaces if you don't bring them there?
stop playing it cool, just be passionate and intense and insane and whoever sticks around is meant for you
