Lord Caradoc Lazuli, Mortal, Lord of Bellcoast, head of the House Lazuli, husband to Marian Lazuli, uncle of Tristyn and Rhoswyn. 

Caradoc Lazuli had an unsteady adolesence. The youngest brother of Vaddon Lazuli, heir to the Lazuli throne and to the entirety of Bellcoast. Caradoc was always the disposable one, that had been ingrained in him by his parents- ruthless and stoic people as grey and as unmoving as the cliffs on which their home was built. His brother Vaddon on the other hand- now that was a son with some value. Caradoc was almost left to his own devices, and if he were another sort of man that would have been his downfall. But Caradoc was sensible and kind- so he busied himself the only way he knew how. He helped out at the dockyards, getting dirty and going hungry with the rest of the men who worked well into the night. He made friends with the fishermen, and with Elgar Attwater too. A young navy general who was already friends with Vaddon. With an insatiable lust for life and adventure, Elgar kept helped Caradoc have fun- he was after all, a young man with the ocean at his doorstep. The three young men would often pester pirates around the docks when they had free time, and soon they were joined by the irresistible Lady Marian. Somehow, in between working, training as a general, and doing as young people do, he managed to find time to fall in love with the dark haired beauty.

But she chose another, and Caradoc could only look on as Marian wed Elgar. He respected them. He didn’t resent either of them for the decision they made as they were so clearly in love, and Caradoc was a firm believer in soul mates. Marian was his, he knew that, but she was not his. He didn’t complain and he didn’t grow angry as the years went on and they were expecting a child, Caradoc remained as their friend, and even after Elgar’s death, he stayed as Marian’s friend. He cherished her daughter Ophelia, and helped Marian through the difficulties she faced. Caradoc took on the responsibility of Vaddon’s children too after his brother’s death, and became so busy he hardly had time to mourn for himself. Caradoc took the weight of Bellcoast on his shoulders without uttering a single complaint. 

Eventually he proposed to Marian once he knew she was ready, and she accepted. The two never had any children, but Caradoc loves Ophelia like his own, despite the strain between her and her mother. Rhoswyn never loved him, he knew that since she makes it glaringly obvious, but he tried to get through to Tristyn, but the boy was too enraptured in his sister’s dreams. Caradoc will always welcome them home as they are his family. Caradoc is selfless, and often takes on the troubles of others making him a popular leader, but often leads to him neglecting his own well-being. He will do anything for the people he loves, and he is fair and reasonable in judgement and his warmth of character makes him popular amongst the people of Havendell, though his own calibre prefer someone far more ruthless and hardened.

Caradoc looks like LUKE EVANS (non-negotiable) and is 45 years old as well as being a member of HOUSE LAZULI. He is CARING and PATIENT as well as PATERNALISTIC and STOIC. Caradoc is currently OPEN.

Adaline Cavell, Mortal, owner and seamstress of Cavell Tailor, friend of Lady Zaleria Carmine.

A young woman of no important standing in a world where a girl’s future is dictated to her by her father, Adaline Cavell knew from a young age she would not let a man decide her fate. Quiet, but by no means powerless, a young Adaline worked alongside her mother in a dressmaking factory for a few years in order to keep a roof over their heads whilst her father worked on the farmlands outside of the city. It was here she  discovered her skills with a needle that are now unrivalled in Havendell. She could turn a piece of fabric into a masterpiece within a matter of hours- everything about what she created was somehow right. Adaline put her heart and soul into every stitch, a determination buried deep within her driving her forward. It started off as just a spark of an idea- perhaps she could utilise this skill, start her own business, rely on herself for money and support. Maybe then she’d settle and find herself a partner, since Adaline has a fondness for children. 

The death of her mother left Adaline with a small inheritance; not much but enough for her to buy a little shop on the outskirts of the city and some supplies. Being a business-smart young woman, she charged low prices for her produce in order to appeal to the already struggling people, and as demand slowly grew so did her prices. It wasn’t long before the middle class had heard about Miss Cavell’s tailors and the quality of the young woman’s work.  Slowly but surely Adaline’s popularity grew, and she was fully independent and self sufficient by the time she was commissioned by Zaleria Carmine. The two young women became friends almost immediately, and Adaline is often invited to the palace in order to keep her friend company. 

Adaline is popular, she’s a beautiful single woman, and she’s lusted after by many. Adaline is an incredibly smart and in some ways manipulative woman. She’ll expertly twist a situation to make it beneficial for herself, and will grab any opportunity handed to her. Whilst undoubtedly loyal to the Carmines, Adaline is not above lying in order to further her position. She wants to be the best tailor in Harrow- and she’ll see to it people will remember her as such. To underestimate Adaline would be a mistake; whilst she is quiet and charming the woman has a remorseless streak beneath the classic beauty.

Adaline looks like ALICIA VIKANDER (negotiable) and is 26 years old as well as being sworn to the HOUSE CARMINE. She is CHARMING and HARD-WORKING as well as PERSUASIVE  and MANIPULATIVE. Adaline is currently OPEN.

Owen Crane, Mortal, Huntsman for the Aurelians, friend of Prince Dastan Aurelian. 

Smuggler. Mercenary. Huntsman. Owen Crane has been around the world and seen all there is to see. He’s done more in his 31 years than many have in their entire lifetime. A man from a poverty stricken farming village near Bellcoast, Owen Crane has known hardship and defeat, and what it is to be self-sufficient. He didn’t let his social circumstance keep him from doing what he wanted to do, and after years of working terrible jobs and long hours as a boy, he finally managed to save enough money to travel. At 14 he journeyed up to Bellcoast and climbed aboard a smuggling ship, not stopping to take a moment to say goodbye. For years he sailed across the world, only coming to a stop at the age of 27, where he returned to Harrow and became a sword-for-hire, since he’d grown bored of adventuring for the time being. His years abroad left him skilled in ways that Harrow men were not, and Owen went from a young adventuring smuggler to a successful mercenary and huntsman almost overnight. Whilst he is not as famed as the Lazuli siblings, Owen has made his fair share of money. Somehow, his reputation as a huntsman reached the ears of the impressionable Dastan Aurelian, and Owen Crane was summoned to court so that he may hunt for royalty. In exchange, Owen would be given a place to live in the palace, and a man such as Owen Crane doesn’t turn down an opportunity like that. 

Despite his brush with wealth, Owen remains grounded. He is not impressed nor fooled by the splendour of the Aurelians, who in turn have been lenient with him and his activities outside of the palace walls. Of course, he has often strayed from the law- fights, gambling and racing are just a few of his favourite past times, as tricks he’s picked up from overseas often come in handy. Prince Dastan is highly amused by Owen- a young man as level headed and incorruptible as Owen Crane having seen the world and journeyed to places no men have been before! Dastan is fascinated by his stories, and the two men often drink and party together, much to the annoyance of Lady Zaleria, Dastan’s betrothed. Whilst the Prince is less than happy with the arrangement, Owen Crane has secretly grown to be very fond the Carmine woman.

Unfortunately for him, Owen Crane isn’t the most popular man within the Aurelian court. A man from some squalid little village who partakes in less than agreeable pastimes with the future king of Harrow- for many at the court the very idea is simply outrageous! Owen’s background is a constant reminder to both him and those around him that he will never be a courtier, no matter how friendly he gets with the royals. 

Owen looks like AIDAN TURNER (negotiable) and is 31 years old as well as being sworn to the HOUSE AURELIAN. He is ADVENTUROUS and INCORRUPTIBLE as well as IMPULSIVE and CRUDE. Owen is currently OPEN.

Rhoswyn Lazuli, Mortal, daughter of the dead sea-lord Vaddon Lazuli and the dead Lady Bethan, sister to Tristyn Lazuli. Bounty Hunter.

Fiery, merciless and wild, Rhoswyn could not be further away from the calm and laidback demeanour the Lazuli are known for. Orphaned as a girl, Rhoswyn ignored any attempts made to tame her- if her parents are gone then so be it, she will take charge of herself and her brother. Any feeble try to get her to pay attention to an authoritative figure was thwarted by Rhoswyn herself. The girl would not listen. She was as wild and as stubborn as the sea, crashing against those around her and drowning anyone not strong enough to handle her spirit. Throughout her years she’s had many a conflict with almost every member of her family- especially Caradoc Lazuli, her uncle and Lord of Bellcoast. She was too young to rule when her parents died, and so it was decided that the coastal region was to go to Lord Vaddon’s brother, Caradoc. The power was snatched from under her and at the time she didn’t even know it. Many were thankful the mannerless young woman never came to rule, since Bellcoast would surely be anarchy under her reign. 

Whilst her uncle tried his best to take care of Rhoswyn and her younger brother, Tristyn, she had other plans for the two of them. A gifted fighter and at one with the wild rolling cliffs and crashing waves of Bellcoast, Rhoswyn decided she could best put her skills to use by becoming a bounty hunter- there were always criminals in need of being caught. Over the years her and Tristyn worked side by side, since she loves no one more than her brother. She practically raised him, kept him from falling into a depression he would never recover from. Fiercely protective of him, since Tristyn is the only family Rhoswyn has. He is the perfect balance, the perfect opposite to her. He keeps her in line and she keeps him grounded. They are the perfect team.

Overbearing and outspoken, Rhoswyn often acts without thinking, and that makes her a careless and dangerous ally to have. Feared by most who have known her, she and her brother have a reputation for being efficient, ruthless and fast. So caught up in her own wild ways, Rhoswyn if ignorant to her brother’s silent anguish, and whilst she has noticed a rift forming between them, she is far too wily to stop and take a moment to think about what it may mean. 

Rhoswyn looks like OLGA KURYLENKO (non-negotiable) and is 30 years old as well as being a member of the HOUSE LAZULI. She is IMPRUDENT and MANNERLESS as well as WILD and UNCONTROLLABLE. Rhoswyn is currently OPEN.

Tristyn Lazuli, Mortal, son of the dead sea-lord Vaddon Lazuli and the dead Lady Bethan , and brother to Rhoswyn Lazuli. Bounty Hunter. 

If Rhoswyn is fire then Tristyn is water. Calm, collected and unmoving, he is quite the opposite of his older sibling. His parents both died whilst he was just a boy barely old enough to sail, and the already shy young boy seemed to retreat into himself even more. For sometime he remained a mute, and Lazuli doctors never thought he’d speak again. It was Rhoswyn who pulled him through their parents death. She kept him busy, kept him active by teaching him all she knew about sailing and fighting. He started to speak again, though never quite opened up fully. Much of his dialogue is internal, and whilst to many he is overshadowed by his sister, Tristyn is a focused young man. His determination and discipline drive him onwards, and makes him the perfect partner for Rhoswyn’s bounty hunting. The two of them are known for their skill and ability to work together and get the job done, no matter what the cost. 

Trust does not come easily to Tristyn. He has never fully recovered from his parents death, and from time to time struggles with keeping himself together. His experience with grief has made him wise beyond his years, and none can doubt that his loyalty to his sister is unending. He would follow her anywhere. In his eyes she is his family, and family comes before all else. His uncle, Caradoc Lazuli, has never been able to fill the hole his father left in Tristyn, and whilst part of him admires his uncle for stepping up and trying to be the best father figure he could to not only Rhoswyn and Tristyn, but Ophelia Attwater too, Tristyn cannot rid himself of the resentment he feels towards the man for taking over the position of father.

As he has grown older, Tristyn can no longer deny the differences between him and his sister- differences the two of them have previously been ignoring. Tristyn cannot shake the feeling of being overshadowed, and his sister grows frustrated with his stoic quietude. As the houses gather in Havendell the tension between them is mounting, and Tristyn is unsure of how he will be able to stay quiet this time. 

Tristyn looks like KIT HARINGTON (non-negotiable) and is 22 years old as well as being a member of the HOUSE LAZULI. He is DISCIPLINED and  FOCUSED as well as INTROVERTED and UNTRUSTING. Tristyn is currently OPEN.

Lady Elianora Viridesa, Mortal, daughter of Lady Lia Song ,Lady of Newmoor and wife of Lord Sephyrus Viridesa. 

The only child of the famous dancer from Tilang, Lia Song, Elianora was expected to follow in her mothers esteemed footsteps. Whilst the girl did inherit a love of dancing, she knew from an early age that she would never be as successful as her mother, and instead decided that she would chose what she would do instead of her mother. Whilst living in Tilang, Elianora was often rebelling against her sometimes strict mother, who at this moment in time was running her own dance troupe. After a particularly disastrous dance rehearsal and an even worse argument with her mother, Elianora ran away. Whilst the young girl didn’t get very far, she did come across a knight travelling the roads upon his mighty steed. All it took was one glance at his fine armour and the way everyone looked up to him for Elianora to decide that she would be a warrior as great as that one day. She had the fiery spirit and determination to put up a good fight, and the elegant grace she had learnt from dancing gave Elianora an edge no cumbersome knight seemed to have. 

At 17, Lia Song decided that both her and her daughter would relocate to Harrow, for Lia didn’t just specialise in dance, but in politics too. She joined Sephyrus Viridesa, allying herself with the Viridesa after being enticed by the houses diversity and freshness. Elianora continued to disobey her mother, teaching herself the ways of soldiers instead of the courtly mannerisms her mother wished her to know. Lia hoped Elianora appeal enough to a wealthy Viridesan man to make an advantageous marriage, but no such thing was coming their way, as the pretty Elianora was more interested in armour and horses than marriage and babies. The girl acted like a street urchin, swearing and gambling with the Viridesan soldiers. She fought and shouted back at those far superior than her, and her mother forced her to work long hours in the stables as punishment, though she got little work done, and she whiled away the hours practising her swordsmanship.

It was there she met Sephyrus Viridesa, though she had little idea of just how important he was- all she knew was that he was an irritability, hanging around the stables and getting in her way whilst she tried to practise. She swore and cursed him, since he spent more and more time around her, teaching her things she didn’t know. Of course she acknowledged his skill as a warrior, and she found him oddly charming. You must imagine her shock when her mother introduced him as Sephyrus Viridesa, and her further surprise when he asked her to marry him. She had only just begun to see him in a romantic light, but she agreed, seeing the good and strength in the giant of a man. Elianora loved him very much, and he is a doting husband, she just hopes that both of them make it through this war, since she will be right there beside him on the battlefield. 

Elianora looks like JAMIE CHUNG (negotiable) and is 21 years old as well as being a member of the HOUSE VIRIDESA. She is SELF-RELIANT and LOYAL as well as FIERY and IRRITABLE. Elianora is currently OPEN.

Princess Luciana Aurelian, Mortal, Princess of Harrow, daughter of King Ellias and Queen Lucrezia, sister of Dastan Aurelian. 

Luciana has always lived a sheltered life. The youngest child of Ellias and Lucrezia, she was adored by everyone, her angelic looks and innocent charm were irresistible, and she was always the favoured child amongst the servants. From an early age she never displayed any of her older brothers spoilt attitude, and much preferred to help others than to boss them around. Her mother often scolded her for being too friendly with the servant staff, and that she was not to help a maid if the girl was struggling as it was beneath the likes of a princess. Luciana was never close to either of her parents, and despite her brothers irritating ways she found herself being the closest to him. As children they would sneak around the palace together and tell wild and imaginative stories as all children do. Dastan was fiercely protective of Luciana, as the girl was so gentle and passive that she was always at risk of childish teasing and bullying, for she wouldn’t bite back. 

At 20 years old and having always been sheltered, Luciana still maintains a sense of naivety, unaware of the horrors in the world. She always tries to see the best in people, and this often leads to her gravely misjudging their character. Luciana will always try and help those she finds in need, but this can result in people taking advantage of her and manipulating her. 

However, one shouldn’t just assume that innocence and doe-like softness are all there is to Luciana, as she is also an Aurelian and they are nothing if not illustrious and coquettish. Luciana has inherited her mothers sultry ways, and coyly flirts and seduces those who are attracted to her girlish charm. This makes her dangerous in a more subtle way than her brother, as those who are foolish enough to underestimate her are often left with with their hearts broken. Luciana is very complex, both naive and selfless whilst also provocative and coy. She is very much an Aurelian, but there are many who wish to harm the Aurelian, and Luciana is the perfect target. 

Luciana looks like GABRIELLA WILDE (non-negotiable) and is 20 years old as well as being a member of the HOUSE AURELIAN. She is GENTLE and SELFLESS as well as NAIVE and FLIRTATIOUS. Luciana is currently OPEN.

Lord Sephyrus Viridesa, Mortal, Lord of Newmoor and head of the House Viridesa, husband to Lady Elianora Viridesa. 

Sephyrus inherited the position of leader of House Viridesa off his mother, a skilled and almost unbeatable warrior. As a boy she taught him all he needed to know about swordsmanship and what he needed to know about how to survive off the land. Sephyrus spent his childhood around warriors like his mother, and soon mastered various weapons and how to dominate the battlefield. His mother was no fool, and knew that Sephyrus wouldn’t be a good leader off brute force alone; she made him sit in on meetings with her generals, as well as attend lessons with tutors from all over the world. She made Sephyrus the best he could possibly be, and in doing so hardened him and played on his strengths, forging him into the greatest leader the Viridesa have possibly ever seen in their short life compared to the other houses. Some have even called him Sephyrus The Unstoppable.

By the time he was 20 he ready to lead the Viridesa, having spent years amongst the soldiers barracks he was well liked by the men he would come to lead, and whilst his mother taught him how to act like a leader, his soldiers taught him how to act like one of them, teaching him foul jokes and how to cheat at cards, resulting in his crude and often inappropriate sense of humour. Sephyrus had the best of both worlds, and whilst other houses may look down upon the hands-on approach the Viridesa adopted, it has strengthened the bond between Sephyrus and his people- he respects them as much as they respect him. 

He had never dreamed of having a wife and family, the very thought of having children churned his stomach- he was a man built for battle, not babies, but when he saw the stable-girl who often practised swordplay when she thought no one was looking, Sephyrus fell in love with her almost instantly. Elianora Song, the young and rebellious daughter of some lady from the far off land of Tilang,  forced to work in the stables as punishment for her loud-mouth. She had little respect for him, and swore and shouted at him until she was red in the face. They would often fight (as coincidently he spent more and more time at the stables) with Elianora calling him a “good for nothing dog” and a “brutish bastard.” She challenged him, kept up with and was often ahead of his crude, crass ways. It took him time, but sure enough she agreed to marry him, and his heart belongs only to her. 

Sephyrus enjoys the company of common-folk more so than those of his own class, and often drinks his way through taverns and parties, rallying support whilst laughing and enjoying himself, as for the time being he is truly happy, and determined to win the throne. 

Sephyrus looks like JASON MOMOA (non-negotiable) and is 36 years old as well as being a member of the HOUSE VIRIDESA. He is COMPASSIONATE and DECISIVE as well as CULTURED and CRUDE . Sephyrus is currently OPEN.

Lady Marian Lazuli, Mortal, Lady of Bellcoast and wife of Caradoc Lazuli, mother of Ophelia Attwater

The beautiful Lady Marian, a jewel sought after by many only to be owned by one. Despite her many suitors, Marian only had eyes for her best friend Elgar Attwater, a young naval general who was close friends with the Lazuli heirs, Vaddon and Caradoc. The four of them would often be seen together causing trouble around the docks and pestering the older sailors for stories and rum. It was Elgar that had stolen Marian’s heart, and the two were married at the age of 17. A young age to be wed in Lazuli traditions, but all who had eyes could tell the two were soulmates, and they lived blissfully together and at 19 Marian was expecting their child. 

Sadly, perfect things never last, and Elgar was killed at sea two months before the birth of his child, leaving Marian a young widow and his daughter, Ophelia, without a father. 

 Her heart had been broken, and she swore never to love again. For years she struggled to raise Ophelia, the young girl reminding her too much of her soul mate that she couldn't bear to look at her. It was Caradoc who convinced her that treating Ophelia like this would only result in the girl hating her later on in life. Like many, Caradoc had loved Marian from afar, but his love stemmed from friendship, not lust. For years he waited, helping her rebuild and mourn until she felt ready, becoming like a father figure to not only Ophelia, but Vaddons children as well. It wasn't until she was 34 that she accepted Caradocs proposal, becoming Lady of Bellcoast, and it was then she realised that perhaps marrying again wouldn’t be so bad, and Caradoc was a man she could see herself loving. She took to the position of Lady of Bellcoast with ease, her natural diplomacy and charm working wonders with the sailors, and she is loved by the Lazuli more so now than she ever has been before. 

A serene and gentle woman, Marian has been fortunate enough to be surrounded by people she loves, and who also love her. She has found comfort in the small and simple things such as the sound of gulls and the smell of fresh bread; and she reminds herself that Elgar would have wanted her to continue living her life, so she strives to be as free and as strong as she was when she was young and careless, despite the sometimes strained relationship between herself and Ophelia. 

Marian looks like RACHEL WEISZ (negotiable) and is 43 years old as well as being a member of the HOUSE LAZULI. She is SERENE and A GOOD ORATOR as well as GRACIOUS and VULNERABLE.

Lady Zaleria Carmine, Mortal, daughter of Lord Iziah Carmine and the dead Lady Raziyah Carmine, betrothed to Dastan Aurelian.

Zaleria was born in the arts capital of Harrow, and like the rest of the Carmines she excelled in all things creative, though as a girl her favourite activity was painting. In fact, she loved it so much she was rarely seen without paint splattered hands and an easel. Her mother did not survive her daughter’s birth, and Zaleria never knew the woman, and she isn’t the sort of be attached to a memory of someone she never even got to meet. She is much loved by her father, however. Despite growing up surrounded by wealth, Zaleria was made very aware of the poverty and those less fortunate than her, leaving her far more grounded and realistic than some, but also very cynical about the world around her.

A true Carmine woman, Zaleria is fierce and opinionated, unafraid to stand up for what she believes in. This can lead to her making impulsive decisions and getting in trouble with those in a higher position of power than her. But she is also a smart girl, and knows when to let something drop for her own safety, as well as the safety of others. She has become close friends with a young seamstress named Adaline Cavell, as Zaleria admires her spirit and determination at being a successful female business owner in such a male dominated world. 

Zaleria was dead-set on never becoming a pawn in the political games her father so often played, but after the death of King Ellias she was informed of a possible alliance between Aurelians and Carmines, Golds and Reds, that meant both houses would fight alongside one another in the coming war, and split the land in two once they won. This allegiance would be made through the marriage of Zaleria to the handsome prince Dastan, who Zaleria had previously thought very little of. She protested, but eventually agreed to it for the sake of her family, living in the palace until her wedding. A marriage of convenience was definitely not what she had in mind, and whilst for now Zaleria is content to play along to appease her father, she most certainly does not welcome her soon-to-be-husband or his family with open arms, especially as she- like the rest of the kingdom- is all too aware of Dastan’s illicit exploits.

Prince Dastan Aurelian, Mortal, Prince of Harrow and Lord of Havendell, son of King Ellias and Queen Lucrezia, brother to Luciana Aurelian and betrothed to Zaleria Carmine. 

If ever there was a prince more suited to being just that- a prince- then Dastan would be sure to be a steady rival to whoever the fortunate young man may be. From the moment he could speak he was taught how to read not only the common tongue, but languages from far off kingdoms, how to sing like an angel and how to deliver moving and somewhat conceited speeches. As soon as he could walk he was charging up and down the palace hallways, and there was no one to tell him not to- no one would have dared. He was taught how to ride and joust and shoot arrows, how to fence and how to act chivalrous. It was very much drummed into him from an early age that he was important and rich, and someone as important and rich as him could do whatever he pleased. Dastan was spoilt and arrogant, insisting on having the best of everything, and his mother was happy to indulge him. This left him with a sense of superiority and entitlement, and whilst in the recent years he has been forced to mature, he sometimes has a selfish outburst if things aren't going his way. 

Despite growing up without a care in the world, Dastan took his education very seriously and is a gifted speaker and writer. He’s written many women of the court illustrious poems and letters, and has had many lovers- both male and female- over the years. Despite his charming façade, Dastan is deeply grieved over the death of his father, and is feeling the weight of the responsibility that may rest on his shoulders should he become king. 

He is close to his sister, seeing through her floaty ethereal ways and noting that she is truly young, foolish and naive and in dire need of protecting from the wickedness of the world, despite her insistence that she can indeed look after herself. He has met his bride-to-be a few times, and whilst she is beautiful he cannot see himself ever truly loving her, but he is sure the feeling is mutual and whilst he has not argued against this marriage of convenience, Dastan still has many lovers behind Zaleria’s back simply because he knows he can. Like his mother, he doesn't like to be told he’s wrong and will fight back against those that disagree with him. Whilst he has matured in some ways, he hasn’t in others, and Dastan is unsure if he wants the responsibility of a wife and ruling a kingdom, and would instead much rather party his way through life.

Malise Ironeye, Immortal, Matriarch of The Ironeye Coven, Lady of Ironedge.

Malise was born into the Ironeye legacy, with her mother the Matriarch before her. The family of witches span back to the very creation of Harrow and the surrounding kingdoms, and Malise was taught every tiny detail of the witches very complex and long history. From the moment she was born she was moulded into becoming the perfect Matriarch, though no one expected her to become the most powerful, least of all her own mother. When it became apparent that Malise was not just the heir to the Ironeye coven, but a threat to it, her mother cast her out, breaking the sacred blood-bind between the witches of Ironedge. Wandering Harrow alone and powerless for a hundred years, Malise became hardened and cold like steel, unbending and unbreakable, twisting and contorting her mothers plan to benefit herself. She was self taught, living off her skill and beauty and sheer lust for vengeance. On her two hundredth birthday she made a decision that would change not only her own fate, but the fate of the Ironeye. 

 She would hunt down those who turned their backs on her, and she would make them bleed. For hundreds of years she followed her sisters, her aunts and her kin, killing them with her bare hands. 

The other Ironeye witches began to rally around her as soon as they realised where the true power lay. Ironeye were like that- they go where the strength is, where they will survive. And Malise was nothing but strength and iron coated ferocity contained within an immortal beautiful body. The battle between Malise and her mother lasted for nine days, the two witches standing alone on the cliffs of the Ironedge, hitting each other with every ounce of power they had. But Malise’s mother was old, used to living in the luxury being the Matriarch provided, she was not cold and raw but instead an outdated weak old crone, and Malise pulled her heart from her chest with ease. 

 For over 200 years Malise has led the Ironeye witches, cloaked in black with a sword at her side and gloves tipped with iron nails. She wields a dark magic unrivalled in Harrow, and is unapologetic in the destruction she and her witches cause. She wants to make the Ironeye great again, and so far has destroyed anything and anyone stopping her from doing so. Her own witches adore her, following her banner with unyielding loyalty, and they are a tight knit force to be reckoned with, feeding off one another's power as they make their way down towards Havendell. The Ironeye witches are once more tying themselves up in mortal politics, as Malise believes it is time to remind these mortal creatures and their pitiful politics what real power looks like.
