Here it is, folks! The long awaited (because I take forever with these things), highly requested, and hopefully anticipated editing tutorial for photoshoot/portrait style imagery taken in (the) Sims 4 Create-A-Sim. Before you begin here are some handy tips to keep in mind:

Use a screenshot program - such as Fraps or Gadwin - rather than the in-game camera to take your screenshots.

Save your screenshots as png.s.

Always edit your image before resizing.

Colour palettes are a great source for choosing the background colour! You can find some right here on bepixeled.

This tutorial is meant for The Sims 4 (a TS3 version can be found here) and is for Photoshop only

Introducing: Talk to me: a speech icon replacement mod 

Lol, sorry, I couldn’t resist >< Anyway, I have made a thing ^^ “Talk to me” is a default replacement, replacing (almost) all speech icons with TS4 speech icons. 

I got the idea for this mod when I saw Simbury’s beautiful regency game with period appropriate conversation topics in the speech bubbles. I search for that mod, found it, and was bummed I don’t play a period game. So I decided to make my own replacement mod. And after months of careful testing and tweaking, I guess it’s ready to be shared.

I’m playing a BACC in sims 2 right now, very casual, these are my settlers. From the top. Gwen Plunkett (Mayor) Pascal Curious’s sons, Xavier and Happy. Then theres Felix Copperbottom and last but not least the Austen sisters, Avery and Juliet. My simblr is a hot mess so I might create a new one purely for the gameplay pics from the bacc.

Styx Skinblend -

So this is the result of my first time experimenting with skinblending! I used Dreadpirate’s Calm Depths as a base and initially planned to add components from Lilith’s Feathers and Eve skinblend to give the face a tad more dimension (such as the nose shine which I really missed or more detailed lip textures) but found that just blending Eve in there already catered to my needs. I already really liked the body the way it was, so I didn’t change it and only focused on the face. Still included the bodies in the preview in case you haven’t seen them before. Same color range aka Trapping’s actions plus DP’s extra colors for the defaults, except I changed S3 from 11 to 10 because I found this one to be closer to the Maxis one. Since her defaults don’t have any names and I still wanted to have those as non-defaults as well I named and tooltipped the skins with numbers instead.

I got a couple of asks like “How to make my game look beautiful? I’m new to the Sims 2, any tips? Why is your game so bright? The grass so green? The water so reflective??” and so on. I decided to make a guide for new ts2 players that will help to answer all such questions. In general, I just gathered all the basic information about my musthave mods/defaults/cheats/photoshop editing/creating hood/downloading CC and more and more.
