Dear Santa,

You know, pretty much every year I always end up wishing for the same thing and it never happens. And I’ve accepted that since even if you weren’t real, I don’t expect a miracle. I don’t know if you can do it or not, but for once I’d like things to just be simple. I’d like to be happy and in love. I’d to be able to be with my best friend and my boyfriend and not have to worry about things being awkward. I’d like to be able to go home and see my parents. But, if you can’t do that, it’s alright. I’ll make it through somehow. I always do.

Dear Boyfriend,

But I don’t want to be in that place anymore. I want to go back to how we were before. I just want to have fun with you and enjoy what we have. I want to just… I want to love you and have it be just that simple. But if that’s going to work we need to talk about Hank. He’s still my best friend and he always has been. I know you wouldn’t ask me to pick between the two of you since you’re nowhere near that cruel but I can’t stand knowing that I can’t be with my best friend and boyfriend at the same time. I can’t stand watching you freeze every time his name comes up. I’d almost rather… say goodbye then watch this keep hurting you. You’re not second best and I’m not with you just because he doesn’t want me.

I know that’s not a lot and that you could do a lot better than the half of my heart I have to offer you, but as long as you’re with me I’m happy. And I want you to be happy to. But if I’m not going to be something that makes you happy then maybe things need to change.

I’m…alright, I guess. Preston was there, which helped. Helped a lot, actually, since he told them to stop when I couldn’t. I don’t think I’ll be making up with my parents any time soon, though. I’m sorry you know what it’s like. It sucks.
