Mothers, wives and more...

Finding your purpose is difficult. Finding your kingdom purpose is more difficult. Finding your kingdom purpose as a women can sometimes feel like an up-hill trek up Kilimanjaro! Let me just caveat this post by saying that the roles of mothers and wives are special ones that were designated to us by the creator and hold a special unique place in God's divine order. BUT my challenge is that these roles and responsibilities are directly linked to our biology. These very important roles are inextricably linked to our temporary earthly form - fragile and fleeting. Society and especially our religious institutions have engrained in us that these roles our the quienissential purposes for women - and in some cases those boxes are enough for some women which is absolutely fine. My difficulties lie when these boxes are put on a pedal stool. Not because I believe that a career or ambition should have equal pegging (that is another issue for another blog post!) but because it raises a real challenge should you not fulfill these roles. What if you are unable to have children? What if your marriage fails or if you don't get married? If these are the core purposes, have you missed out on your calling as a women? Have you lived an unfulfilled life? I don't think that's it. Truth be told there are no kingdom callings for women - there are only kingdom callings for hand picked unique individuals who have been brought into the fold. Galatians 3:28 says there will be no more 'male nor female' so how is it that we focus so much on callings linked to our bodies? Now there are issues/ that are specific to women - I run women only brunches, as women tend to learn and interact more when they are undivided by the male gender. But let us be clear this disparity and chasm that has formed between women and man in all walks of life has come from the fall outlined in Genesis, not because it was ordained by God. Because of this, as women, we are can often become preoccupied with things that are temporary and our focus is often based on our earthy interactions. I have been saddened by the growing number of young women who completely drop out of ministry or leadership because of 'other commitments'. Now let me bring in another caveat - there needs to be balance and sacrifice in everything, women are often the ones who need to do the juggling act - no problem there, I don't believe we can't do it all its not healthy. But when you become totally inactive in the kingdom and forgo your higher purpose, for me, there is an issue. My prayer is that we do not fold on our kingdom mission and mindset for temporary earthly things. Please remember we are fearfully and wonderfully made do not be confined by the worlds standards!
