I think that it would be good to post an overall summary of my worldbuilding project as one of the first things I do. It is extremely condensed compared to the notes I have in my documents, so it isn't much, but I feel it's a good introduction.

Setting
In [19??], the increasingly prevalent field of robotics led to private laboratories racing to make the next strides in synthetic technology. In one of these facilities, an experimental false-mind was developed, designed to utilise the science of non-chronological processing.
This went poorly. After the first phase of testing was completed, and the subject deemed a non-threat, it breached the national network and was able to install itself in a derelict manufactory.
It is unknown how long it had been outside of containment, but by the time it was discovered, there was little action that could be taken. The false-mind had already begun work on producing vast quantities of automaton models of its own design using the structure's facilities.
These 'Automa', as they came to be known, descended on the nearby rural areas. The government of â– , not yet mobilised, could offer little resistance against the swarms of automaton rapidly engulfing the surrounding countryside.
Civil forces were wholly unprepared to deal with the situation, and a state of national emergency was declared upon hearing of the events.
The progenation of the MEC
When the militarised organisation, the MPE displayed their aptitude in dealing with this threat, the government was quick to accept its offer: all national lawkeeping forces would be put under its command, forming the Mechanised Expurgation Corps, improving their in repelling the Automat. What precisely the MPE received from this deal in exchange is still undisclosed.
What is known is that, as promised, the MEC was able to combat the automaton far better than the government-run military. Over the course of several years, the conflict devolved into an attritive stalemate. Mostly static fronts formed between the territories controlled by either side.
The involvement of Null Zenith
In [19??], an influential corporation under the name Null Zenith enacted a plan that had been in the making for decades. The company's private mercenaries mobilised. The objective seemed to be a rapid strike on the capital, in order to seize what control they could in the chaos of Automat-MEC conflicts.
Clearly expecting a quicker resolution, the corporation's personnel were unprepared for the drawn out conflict caused by MEC resistance, having to withdraw from the initial assault.
This has greatly complicated matters in â– , resulting in an all out three-way power struggle between the factions.

That's most of the important information for the background setting. There are a few things I haven't fully decided on yet, which I hope to fix soon.
Next, I might post some of the more in-depth pieces of pseudo-non-fiction (is there a word for that?) writing or a related drawing, if I can finish any by then.
