I suspect that many viewers who watched last week’s episode of The Mandalorian came away with the impression that the Krayt Dragon was a snake or worm-shaped creature and that what is shown in the episode is most of the creature’s mass.

I feel I must inform you that everything we saw above the sand was just the dragon’s head and neck, and less than half of its total length.

Greater Krayt Dragons like the one in the show have ten limbs and a long tail which are used to “swim” through sand at incredible speeds. Here’s a good image, while this exact design is no longer canon, the overall body plan is:
